Wisdom he passed on to school children in his travels.
Active man with no pretenses.
Good Man that was a recovering alcoholic
Oasis of knowledge.
Nature had captivated his lifestyle.
Joining him in his travels were Sugar Foot his saddle horse.
Offbeat from the mainstream lifestyle.
His home, two covered wagons pulled by six mules.
Negativity had no part of his life.
bluegrass belting out
its lonesome sultry offbeat ~
subtle jazzy roots
A flutter stirs in my chest,
Awaking it from its inattentive rest.
As a tiny butterfly wing unfurled,
To unleash a quake in nether world.
Such chaos reeks as tremor grows,
It billows and flaps as tempest bestows,
An effect far beyond what reason deserves,
From a flip of wing, hors d'oeuvres.
A simple glance, a glint from eye,
Triggers my heart to offbeat awry,
To blast a chain reaction melee!
All order is lost - May Day, May Day!
A wing flap in Brazil, a tornado in Texas brings,
A tiny ripple in the cosmos that sings,
A reverberating chaotic chorus to heart strings,
Tuned to quiver sympathetic, to resonant dings.
EBONY WE ON THE WAY

A California babe named Lizzy
As hot as her best friend named Dizzy
These two girls are on fire
Desires climbing higher
Fanning and licking flames ~ His name’s Izzy

Sugar cubes and coffee grounds
May skies beckon birds soaring
Sunlit paths lead to fields of gold
An exodus from darknesses’ gloom
Sail away to transitional fame
In route to where u’re meant to be
Appeal scorn’s judgement of you
A freedom sought is one to cherish
Pages turn and chapters burn
Poetic notes break the mold
Offbeat tales bold and untold
Dare to carve thru the untamed path
Play in the margins where rules decay
Strive to recognize unstructured grace

Rumi Quote: { In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems}
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beauty came into the room,
expectancy start building.
Hearing her gentle footsteps,
a tender touch heals the heart.
Sweet words ripple from her lips,
at the brink of a refrain.
They slide swiftly to the beat,
battling to build their own rhyme.
Issues vanish from my mind
when I catch her magic smile.
She draws me into her world,
as spring arrives in my town.
Shoes tell time from toe to heel,
she sings with a velvet voice.
Harp in its rack, she wails down,
offbeat tune crafted with love.
So sublime my dream that I want to scream,
for a guy who is a sweet offbeat character;
he is kind, gentle and helps where he can,
this sort of wonderful man appeals to me !
I wish that I could be his forever girl friend,
with love to transcend that grows over time.
When young, stay in the heat of the foam
where strange things -pyrite and miracles roll
Old age is for picking out supple blue pools
counting blessings and mincing what's left of the fool-
The foam is where gift and opportunity collide
a pants pissing reddened-eyed carnival ride
the pools can be an offbeat and queasy reflection
when harpy and angel spar over the ghost of regret-
Stay in the foam as long as the fragile dream holds
until bones collapse or you strike a thin vein of gold.
You'll find quiet pools at the end of life's rapids
where black scythes swing 'round collecting black taxes
Until then, stay in the heat of the foam.
I feel the need to bounce around.
To shake off the lamplight.
Then I’m sitting, hopelessly.
Then I’m pacing powerfully.
The room is offbeat today.
I think my body shouldn’t be here.
A couch lives in here.
A bowl of popcorn, old and dead.
Yep, this is my friend’s place.
Something…something…stay here…
I could use the couch.
To sleep.
But it didn’t go right.
Instead, I stayed up all night.
I wasted the spot on his couch.
He asked if I’d like some cereal.
But I don’t eat like I used to.
The Dance of Anger…
A weary waltz,
on a sheenless floor.
Offbeat music
gyrates an endless cycle.
On two, accent anxiety’s weakness
Syncopated rhythms erupt.
Love songs
are a miss.
Vinyl scratched,
for a touch
a large charge
or a bit of blood.*
Choreographed to move timely and allay tears.
Uncrazy!
Dance to a different drum.
On troubled roads of life, when opposing sides collide,
Conflict of emotions clamors, agitating ego and pride,
While empathy warns: let forgiveness be your guide,
As benevolent angels, in missives of compassion chide.
Mired in wins and losses, when humanity strums offbeat,
Adversaries propagate hatred, and blatantly mistreat,
As meaningless conversations puff up, donning conceit,
While expressions of solemn amiability retreat in defeat.
A proffer of calm and goodwill, checks enemy’s reign
When sanctity prevails, calming a perturbed domain,
As atonement and humility heal, soothing angst of pain
And disturbed vibes seeking revenge, begin to wane.
As nobility of repentance tenders offers of mercy, grace,
Malevolent behaviors recede, ashamed in disgrace,
And enlightenment of intellect inspires vacuous space,
When hosting redemption, reformed enemies embrace.
In affluence of cognitive thoughts informed minds elate
Harboring tolerance and sympathy, discarding hate,
Being harmonious with peace, mundane life they liberate,
Achieving balance within, unfazed by travails of fate.
It's nature's will in Autumn trees—
To slip out of offbeat colors.
There lay crushed prose he saw through her.
My unattached ground still does bleed
From raked walks on lanes— those who leave.
My heart arises and develops eyes
Just as a channel that sees with two sides
Feeling the present and reliving the gone
The present presents pungent and angst in yawn
Offbeat of honey and peace in purse.
A drop of tears rushes down my cheek
Claiming to deny my classic
I hold back with the standard I can
Just to show my quality of being a man
Even though the life is not at its peak.
Since the positives of life are what I won't abstain
All that'd gone will be regain
There is not joy without a sorrow
The broad roads were once narrow
I believe the joy will come again.
