too many voices for one house,
too many shoes by the door,
too much life to ever be quiet.
Two grandparents hold it all together—
hands worn soft from years of trying,
love stretched thin but never breaking.
They make room where there isn’t any,
they make it work because it has to.
Our mom calls when she can.
Her voice is love and distance at once.
She tells us she misses us,
and we believe her.
Some love stays real
even when it can’t stay close.
Our dad is a name we don’t say.
A shadow we step around.
Some stories don’t need telling
to be understood.
Still, we are fed.
Still, we are watched over.
Still, someone checks if we made it home.
Family isn’t perfect or whole—
it’s who shows up,
who protects the best they can,
and who stays
when staying is hard.
And somehow,
that has been enough
to keep us standing.
I knew you when I first met you
I knew you just by looking into your eyes
Your eyes held my attention
Your smile would not let me go
I fell in love with you
Before you even spoke
We sat and talked for hours
Slowly our time was coming to an end
And I didn’t want the afternoon to stop
Because I knew you
And I would be apart again.
Our lives just would not work in this life
My heart was breaking because I knew you
Fate was being cruel to us
We didn’t even stand a chance
As much as we cared for each other
Forces were keeping us apart
No matter how hard we tried
We could not make it work
We had to say goodbye
But I am so glad I knew you
It just flows and ebbs along it seems
One day passion rises like a torrent
Another it just trickles like mountain streams
Sometimes times love can just be bumpy
Like a boat ride would be at times
Other times it can be fast and furious
Just like when the nearby church bell chimes
But love can be a wonderment
To be with us all our days
And have that some special in your life
Just like the love song says
As we ride the rivers waters
Metaphorically speaking, at least that’s a thought
And make the most of what we have
Love is free, it’s never bought
Like a river love in endless
Will run and run and run
At least it will if you make it work
Full of feeling and lots of fun
So next time you pass a river or stream
Just think about the water and what it can represent
Because nothing brings more pleasure into your life
Than what these four words mean in their content
So always remember that
Never let it fade away
Like the ever flowing river
Love will always be there every day
From being the sunshine chaos
To the survival of a walking corpse
From pouring all her seasons to that one friend
To pretending like nothing happened
Chanted the name a million times to her girls
Was curious, excited and never tired of taking calls
The time never occured important
Neither the place nor the content
All shattered once she accepted
That she was never even considered
Little did she know, it was all in her head
She was never special, just not dead.
Hilarious jokes,the never ending roasts
All she ever wanted was a one that lasts
Did it though?
This poem wouldn't have been emerged if it did
Two different worlds they lived
Managed to fit in, quietly adrift.
Thought she could turn the distance into a gift.
The magic was unrequited,
Though it was pointless, she confronted
Pushed through her limits to make it work
Atleast she revered the fading arc...
“Time is money” people will say.
Imagine though if this were true:
if time were actual money.
To make it work, what would we do?
What standard would everyone use
by which one’s time would be measured?
Wasting time might be worth a dime
while gold would be one’s time treasured.
Would there be banks for one’s time saved,
and what would that mean anyway?
Would it mean one’s lifetime prolonged
like “saving for a rainy day?”
It’s wise to save money, but time
is currency that has an end,
so use it well each chance you get.
That’s better than time poorly spent!
My conscience was most harried,
I tried to make it work but tarried.
For ten years I stayed married -
our boy was so meek and mild -
saying, I'll do it for the child.
Our family home was filled with stress,
professionals tried to find redress,
but this silent, hostile mess,
wasn't good for our son,
but I stuck with what I'd begun.
The counselor said that I should stay,
stick to it, don't throw it away,
it's better for the child that way,
and because of these fears,
I stayed for ten long years,
but I couldn't finish what I did begin.
I was too weak and I gave in,
and because of this awful sin,
later, we all smiled.
It was better for the child.

I'm so incredibly proud and privileged ,
to be recognised by the #GBEA '25 team,
The fact that I've been shortlisted,
Is far beyond my wildest dream.
Single mum to three wild boys,
They're the apple of my eyes,
I'm the founder of Lotus Poetry,
A new and upcoming social enterprise.
I'm running on purpose and passion,
Lots of caffeine, kindness and care,
But I'm really struggling to find,
The funds to get me there.
Real life isn't like a fairytale,
This Cinderella is doing her best,
Working hard to find a way,
To attend with all the rest.
Where I get time for me,
It's not often that I do,
I hope I make it work,
So my dream can come true.
A night off from the boys,
So I can drink and dance,
An opportunity to meet you all,
Thanking you for this incredible chance.
So did we make it work?
Did the stars that we wished upon bless us?
Or did it burn up like a shooting star?
Or did we count them wrong?
Did we measure the width of the sky?
Is it wide enought to hold our dreams?
Mine and yours, together.
Well even if it didn't
Then let's meet again
On the day when
The sun is cold and the moon spreads warmth
And this time we'll count the stars right

"I want to live for us." ~ Simon (Richard Coyle) to Annie (Piper Parabo). A complicated love story.
I want to live for us

I want to live for us
To make a Life together
I want to feel your touch
Know our Souls are entwined forever
Even though it's complicated
Even though we're on opposite sides
We can make it work as one
Sharing this Journey for all Time
No more playing by the rules
No more lies and playing our roles
We'll live this relationship honestly
We'll be open and free and bold
I want to live for us
The cost apart is far too high
So take my hand and leap into the unknown
Our Love will help us fly

When I was serious
You took for granted.
Totally ignored my requests
Treated them like games.
Used it against me,
But support your anger.
Flying those Fs words
Towards my simple world.
Once, I tried teasing you,
You found it too offensive.
Ended our very unstable friendship,
While behaving insensibly and immaturely,
When thing has gone dead,
What would you do instead?
Long for many new days,
So I could stay away.
Faith let you and me meet.
Trust built confident while strenghtening friendships.
With respect, honest, polite and courtesy,
Helped keeping the relationship long lasting.
What you did to others "Karma"
Love makes most things go around,
Hatred tumbles people to the ground.
Life is short to muck around.
You love me,
but somewhere along the way,
I couldn’t keep up, couldn’t stay,
your words stopped meaning what they once did,
and I felt lost in what we hid.
You gave me all, I couldn’t give back,
I thought I was ready, but I lost track.
I tried to make it work, tried to find the key,
but the truth was clear it wasn’t meant to be.
And though I wanted it to work,
we didn’t plan, we didn’t see,
I loved you, but I couldn’t stay,
so I had to turn away.
I loved you.
I walked away when you said those,
But I never knew how to make it work.
Many thoughts and illusions compose.
Some horrid impressions often lurk.
Spring was beautiful but a waste.
Summer was fun but too tiring to prepare,
Winter was dreamy, but dreams were dry and distaste.
Oh, silly me! Why haven't I listened?
To the words you showered.
Tattered and pinned me down as you said.
But now it's all gone, but did I ever misread?
The words are lost and I question myself.
The significance of the words was merely felt.
But now I regret it, as it eats me like a parasite.
The married want
a divorce.
There's a cowboy who
can't ride a horse.
The lonely want
to be loved.
The guilty don’t want
to be judged.
The kids want
to grow-up.
The big dogs wish
they were a pup.
Grown-ups want
to be young.
Someone is holding
a smoking gun.
The common people
want to be famous?
A lot of people talk
from the anus.
The famous people
want some privacy.
The dope fiend
wants sobriety.
The gypsy longs
for a home.
The sinner seeks
to atone.
The rich want
more wealth.
The sick want
their health.
The restless long
for sleep.
The filthy rich want
it for cheap.
Make it work with
all you possess.
Be happy and live
Without stress.

There were forty-three pros
So that is do-able, right?
The job coach gave Harry the knowing look.
How many cons were there?
He pretended to search for the answer.
One hundred and fifty-three cons, he replied.
All of her tips should have him realizing one thing.
She said “You thought that was do-able?”
“I think I can make it work,” he replied.
A job-taker who almost never keeps the job he takes.
