Let’s imitate we share it
The plan to make ends meet
Negotiating fairly
Things we don’t really need
But let’s get rid of “we”
For someone’s lofty goals
Aren’t relevant to me
And different from yours
Let’s set the sail to find
At least a metaphor
That hails a peace of mind
As it was long before
In period of time
When that Picasso’s dove
Saved lives of you

Let’s hang upon a star 
     my friend 
And travel upon roads 
     that have no end
For today I peered upon your face 
     and reclaimed forgotten dreams
Then whitewashed memories 
     of earthly chaotic scenes

That Spot in Every Ocean

I had seen her beauty a couple places
mornings  rising,  evenings as it rests
that spot in every ocean
where the sun always looks its best. 

Her beauty seemed radiant
it brightened my darkest room
now it lives only in my memories
she left me far too soon.

I placed an urn on the mantle
the room seemed to fade to

A Broken Couplet

I always thought a couplet was romantic - two lines and two lovers together,
‘til your hand brought a third line into our poem, breaking that rhyme forever.

Should passion unspent never see the day

Would such need keep silent and so fade

Now here’s a tale I swear has not been told,
About the one to whom I have been sold.
A beauty who is wise beyond her years,
Her voice, I find, it lingers in my ears.

My damsel, she’s got lovin’ in her heart,
