Never Rhyme

I know I could do one thing at a time;
Not that I think doing two is a crime,
But simply I don't have guts,
So my love mocks, "Man, you're nuts.
Rock me; but it’ll be a crime if you rhyme".

Read she my rhymes, and I was in my prime;
Crossed she my lines, saying they never chime,
“Ah, you clutz, too many buts;
Hide your butts; and gulp — donuts,
But never, ever rhyme, in your lifetime".
