I see sadness, tears of unhappiness
I can't say I've seen you smile in awhile,
It breaks my heart,
That I can't be the reason
I'd give up anything to have it happen.
If it means letting go,
For you to be in the arms of another,
I do it while hidding the tears on my
Heart,
I love you ,
I'd give anything for you... .. .
Despite the down falls, and hurt
I hope you know,
But for what is worth I'm sry for all the
Ups an downs , an time
We been through hell an back
Sometimes feels like I haven't left
Our heart goes out to them
we want to help with
everything we have and more
So we dish out what we can
and scrounge to find the rest
we juggle and do without
to provide as best we can
When times get better
we never expect to have to beg
to get our money back
because a loan is a loan
unless there’s been a sudden
global outbreak of financial amnesia
Dishing of resentment
how dare we ask for what is due us
left hanging
dangling
like a sorry piece of meat
Just life offering us valuable lessons
AP: Honorable Mention 2021
When we came on that train we go into the dark.
To never see light again, to never see a familiar face,
To starve, to cry, to slowly die.
Losing that one thing that is so important
Out of nowhere comes that strange feeling
Suddenly you are enshrouded in darkness
That everything you do it has no meaning
How your perspective has now changed
Only those seeking help will actually get it
Please try to focus that thing can change
Every one deserves the best that you give
There's always room for more
I'm never full
I'm never satisfied
My appetite has evolved
An appetite for destruction
Self destruction
Carry on, carry on
The struggles from within
Pushing and pushing and pushing
Pulling and pulling and pulling
No balance
Constantly in motion
Going down, man down
I hear the pleas of for me to get up
To keep going
It gets better
Oh how easy it sounds
I want to change, I need to change
Can you spare some change
Sitting at home
staring at my phone
hoping for a message to come
to give me some
way to think I'm okay
but you have nothing to say
to the one who loves you most
so here's a toast
to another lonely night
hoping for morning's light
Silent ringing in my ear
Side effects of my career
Holding hands with delicate flowers
Sharing joy with children for hours
Cleaning constant messes
Watching little girls in beautiful dresses
Never resting never sleeping
My inner alarm always beeping
Adding money, paying taxes
Sending business faxes
Try to soften the hard blow
that the children come to know
Moneys getting tighter
Always trying to be a fighter
Crying constant from the loss
Living off of Red Cross
Never seeing little girls
off in another womens world
