Losing Hope

Our heart goes out to them
we want to help with
everything we have and more

So we dish out what we can
and scrounge to find the rest
we juggle and do without
to provide as best we can

When times get better
we never expect to have to beg
to get our money back
because a loan is a loan
unless there’s been a sudden
global outbreak of financial amnesia

Dishing of resentment
how dare we ask for what is due us
left hanging
dangling
like a sorry piece of meat

Just life offering us valuable lessons

A wonderful man, who took me in from the storm (literally!) 31 years ago: "You are receiving this help because some day you will be in a position to do this for someone else." Amazingly enough, just two years later I was---for two 'orphans of the storm,' one for 5 months, another for 3, one right after the other...As the world turns...Ala your instructive poem. Kudos! ~ Gershon

Thanks for your much appreciated visit and comment. And that is exactly why forgiveness is so important... holding a grudge just eats away at those brownie points.
