Summer 2025

2025.2.23
Summer heat waves.
Checked on the website,
Beaurology of Melbourne weather forecasted.
The temperatures, the winds, the water and the tides.
Would be in the 30°c, calm, fine and low tides.
I somehow started to get panic,
Not because of the heat.
But more about the end of the summer is near.
Comparing to last year,
Victoria has more heat waves and sunny days.
I had so much sun tan,
Someone insisted I was from African decent.
This year, I visited Cowes Philip Island,
Warrnambool, Apollo Bay, Point Lonsdale and Lorne,
Not to forget Geelong,
As it was always there on the way.
I went to Sorrento back beach,
St Paul Lookout, Jubilee Point, Diamond Bay and Bays of Island's.
I would continue to travel,
As long as I was still able,
Until one day, I leave this place,
And go far far away.
Until then, I might see you again.

For if my heart
Were such as this
With taste and tears
On every kiss

It could explain
Each reason why
The love lorne layers
Do testify

To pungent faith
Flavoursome hope
Formed in the dark
With potent scope

To underpin
The panoply
Of every tasty

A Poem About Art

Art class is my favorite pass time at the senior's residence,
I reflect on past experiences and I am encouraged to paint.

I have painted a picture of our cottage on the shores of North Bay.
Through the years we have good memories.

My married years we stayed at the Georgian Bay cottage,
I painted a picture of our A-Frame cottage.

Our parents house,I painted a picture and gave that to my sister,
That was a very spacious house in the exclusive Lorne Park area.

I love Christmas, the beautiful days with our relatives and friends,
I have painted a Christmas tree.

Easter is another time of year that is celebrated,
I remember the day when our parents would hide the Easter eggs and bunnies.

We have good memories, I like to share these good memories with relatives
and friends,
I give them copies of my paintings and drawings.

Sarasota Memories

The beautiful St. Armands, Sarasota, Florida,
A holiday with my children Kirk and Erik and my parents.

The timeshare at the beach,
Owned by Dr. Erika and Dr. Wolf.

Condominium was exquisitely decorated,
My sons Kirk and Erik stayed with me.

There was a beautiful white sandy beach,
Where we would go for long walks and collect sea shells.

We would go dinning at the nearby restaurant ,
Which had delicious foods, my favorite was the place by the sea.

I collected sea shells of different shapes and sizes,
My favorite shell was the abalone which I received complimentary when i bought a necklace.

My mother and I went shopping together,
I also bought T-shirts for my sons.

Mother would also invite us for dinner, she would cook a delicious dinner,
That is a very good memory, we would visit with my sister Antje and mom and dad.

Those our days to remember , blessed by God,
We returned safely to our parents' Lorne Park house.

Love Letters In the Sand

While living at our parents and grandparent's house in Lorne Park,
We used to walk along the seashore of Jack Darling Park

My youngest son Erik and I,
My oldest son Kirk was at school.

I would take along a stick and draw a palace in the sand,
Divorced in those days.

We would skip stones in the water,
A pastime my children and I enjoyed.

Days where we get a picnic lunch and went to Jack Darling.
We would toss the frisbee around.

Then we would go to the Lorne Park library and Erik would stay with the children,
While mother took classes on how to cope as a single parent.

We would see their father now and then as a friend,
The children went on to be well-educated and both children married.

Erik married his school sweetheart Lisette,
Kirk married his friend Jenn and they met as missionares.

I think of these beautiful memories,
I thank God, you cannot always predict the future.

I pray that God continues to keep us safe,
He always watches over us.

Lorne Greene
Played on a rancher team.
Later had Cylons on his track
In a show where they would say frack.

Premium Member Lorne Greene

He was very popular on television in America.
For years, he played Ben Cartwright on “Bonanza”.
Being patriarch of a piece of land in Nevada,
he and his three sons lived on the “Ponderosa”.
Did you know he originally hailed from Canada?
One day, he stepped into a recording studio.
The product of this endeavor was a song called “Ringo”
High on Billboard’s charts this record would go.
Mr. Greene was a very popular actor in his day.
Sadly, in 1987, he passed away.

Thanks to the Internet Movie Database for information I obtained.

I Get Knocked Down

“I get knocked down but I get up again, they aint ever gonna keep me down,”
But I always wind up looking like a toothless bloody clown,

“Late that night I saved the life of Ringo,”
And then I got arrested for almost playing bingo

“I got stripes all around my shoulders, I got chains all around my knees,”
An them sandy Goannas aint having no feed of me,

“Leave him out there in the long yard, do not rush him.”
Be gentle with me when you have your way,

“They went out to search the ranges for the little boy lost,”
And they surely bloody found him later on that day!

Tubthumping by Chumbawumba, I get knocked down.
Lorne Greene’s, Ringo
I got stripes, Jonny Cash
Leave him in the long yard Slim Dusty
Little boy lost Jonny Ashcroft
