Listen to poem:
For if my heart Were such as this With taste and tears On every kiss It could explain Each reason why The love lorne layers Do testify To pungent faith Flavoursome hope Formed in the dark With potent scope To underpin The panoply Of every tasty Recipe

Dear Sam, I love this poem with its many layers of depth ( just like onions) I also love the quotes. A great, poetic use of the humble onion as a metaphor. The comparison of love and how it can affect the heart emotionally and physically with the onion that can also produce reactions is so beautifully written.” The love lorne layers” is so profound. A thought provoking write from your very talented pen dear friend. Hugs and blessings x

Thank you Christina, as ever, for your attentive comments. I look forward to seeing more of your poetry and hope the onion, in it's simplicity and complexity, inspires you to capture the duality of life in your own gifted words. Blessings. S:) x

Ah yes. As with the under-rated onion, rarely the star of the show and always playing support; my humble poem can be passed over, and yet, in the right hands at the right time.. could be destined for a curtain call.. Thanks Gary. Always a pleasure. S:) x
