Love Letters In the Sand

While living at our parents and grandparent's house in Lorne Park, We used to walk along the seashore of Jack Darling Park My youngest son Erik and I, My oldest son Kirk was at school. I would take along a stick and draw a palace in the sand, Divorced in those days. We would skip stones in the water, A pastime my children and I enjoyed. Days where we get a picnic lunch and went to Jack Darling. We would toss the frisbee around. Then we would go to the Lorne Park library and Erik would stay with the children, While mother took classes on how to cope as a single parent. We would see their father now and then as a friend, The children went on to be well-educated and both children married. Erik married his school sweetheart Lisette, Kirk married his friend Jenn and they met as missionares. I think of these beautiful memories, I thank God, you cannot always predict the future. I pray that God continues to keep us safe, He always watches over us. Author: Gwen von Erlach Schutz.
