Patchez

PATCHEZ
                                                     By: Kitty Jones
                                                       11-12-13
I was not young when I found out about you
But there was no question about what I should do
I didn’t care if you were a boy or a girl
I just wanted you in my world.
I wanted to give you a life full of love
And teach you about your Father above.
I remember putting headphones all around my tummy
I wanted you to be a rap star, I know that’s kinda funny.
I was not young when I found out about you
But there was no question about what I should do
I remember the day you came into this world
You sent my heart and mind a whirl.
I remember the day you took your first walk
I couldn’t understand your words when you talked.
I remember the day that you turned one
I fed you spelt cake with honey, we had so much fun.
You worked with me in chicken houses picking up many eggs
You chased every chicken with those chubby little legs.
I was not young when I found out about you
But there was no question about what I should do
Together in life we have faced heart ache
Do you remember the day I curved that rake?
We’ve lived our lives just you and me
I guess that’s the way it was suppose too be.
We’ve been on so many trips together
I cherish those memories, I’ll hold them forever.
I was not young when I found out about you
But there was no question about what I should do
I look at you now and see a grown man
So big, so strong with gentile loving hands.
I look at you and treasure you’re face
Your chubby little cheeks I once held with grace.
I remember the days when I tickled your tummy.
Now days you’re always asking me for money.
Now tattoos and women are all that you know
But you rap with your heart, I can feel the flow
You’ve grown up so big and oh so tall
One day you won’t need me at all.
I was not young when I found out about you
But there was no question about what I should do
I love you my Patchez, and all you’ve become
I want you to know, you’re the bestes of sons.
Now whatever it is you do in life, I know you will succeed
For Momma is always fervently praying, upon my knees.

Dear Self,

I have taken a moment to write,
Since time is walking briskly.
How are you faring?
Do you still get excited with the changing season and smell of rain?
Do you still sit out in the cool of the evening
having a picnic in candlelight with a glass of wine in hand?
Watch the day fade away, welcome the graying of the night?
Count the luminous stars looking for all the constellations,
And the changes of the moon from night to night
While the stars gaze back;
Make a wish upon a shooting star?
Do you walk through and adore the open fields to another city?
Do you still listen to Celtic music, country music,
Or watching cartoons with your great-grandchildren?
Have you hiked those overgrown mountain trails
Where the feather reed grass is up to your waist
And the seedling trees trying to reach for the sky?
Are you facing the fact that you have gotten older
Or are your fears struggling with life?
Are you thinking positive to each step you take forward
Or are you taking steps backwards and not forget the past?
Are you still exercising or have you gotten lazy?
Are you still holding up to the change of weather?
Are your children still rejoicing in their lives?
Are the grandchildren growing like weeds
And being blessed with being successful?
Have you made peace with whom you love
And achieved your destiny?
Have you found prosperity and success?
Are you enjoying retirement in a far-of-land or island;
Found a soul mate to keep you happy and safe?
Tell me, have you succeeded in completing everything on your bucket list?
I hope your life is going on better than it was?
Whatever you have done, I hope you found good in it.

Questions

Questions

Walking downhill,
I couldn't control my speed.
Suddenly I limped and there was blackout.
I tried to open my eyes
but failed.
With difficulty I lifted my hand
and felt my eyes wrapped.
I could feel the jerks of a speeding car
and heard my little ones,
'Mamma, are you comfortable?'
Feeling my bandaged eye
I feared I had lost an eye.
I asked in anguish, 'What have I lost?'
'You have been saved
After a mighty fall down the cliff.
Papa is taking you
to the hospital in the plains'.
Confusion ranged in my mind.
I tried to recollect the incidents
that lead to it,
but became unconscious.
With partial memory and broken limbs
I was laid up
in bed for months.
The love and care of the family,
helped me to heal quickly,
But the fear in my girls eyes,
haunted me.
I could have died.
My little daughters
would have been bereft
of maternal love.
Who would have reared them up?
Would another mother
have replicated my motherhood?
My fear of losing my limbs,
put me in a meditative mode
on and off.
What if I had really lost my eye?
Would I have been able to see
this world and my dear ones
with the same view?
My eyes became so dear
and my heart went out
to those who were
without this God-gifted sight.
I wondered how they felt and lived.
My limbs were repaired,
but what of those not so fortunate?
Was their life as agile
and bountiful as ours?
Did they envy those
who run and walk around
doing their daily chores?
They also must be,
I am sure,
yearning to see
this glorious world.
Despite acceptance
of every tragic moment
down the decades,
I am still tortured
by such unsolvable questions,
What if?

In Search of Some Non-Sense

The changed wind today,
Blows a spontaneous rhythm;
Endlessly on broken chords.
As every He/She pendulums blindingly,
To blend and bend themselves craving for,
Inquest of a roller-coaster joyride inside;
And ultimately is found to return,
Tuning itself in-wards;
On blind voyages from somewhere to nowhere,
From nowhere to somewhere.

For everyone is found to be guilty here,
Burning in an eternal guilt;
To get born again and reborn again.
Rejoicing on others guilt,
Relying to live on our ancestral Grand Father’s spit;
Whilst, one like me simply gets gone;
Going on blind voyages towards countless destinations,
Tripping to n fro within.
To dive, plunge and sink into,
A private world of our own;
Where we sailingly dream to fulfill,
All the sprouting desires of this mind;
After weighing them on,
Our personal Jesus’s sunbeam.
Frequently chased by so many trillion thoughts,
Innumerable beliefs, relentless creeds and scrupulous dogmas;
Which haunts to finally halt on,
Any ageless question mark to recur all life.

Alas..!!! A self-realization returns,
With empty hands.
To be left alive only with,
A realistic blank vacant and pseudo existence.
Ooh! For we all are fellow-travelers here,
Traveling in the same boat;
Strangely acting to live,
A life in search for some non-sense;
In-quest of a mindless state,
A timeless space

As the living law of life righteously suggests,
That truthfully everything changes to be non-existential.
For we all have emptily arrived here,
With nothing to gain;
And nothing to lose,
Just to have a splendid vacancy in vain; during our return.

Thoughts poured:

You cower at my rebel yell
Envisioning hot flames of hell
I’ll cast on you a wicked spell
Before your plea for life I quell
My rebel yell, hot flames of hell

You tremble at my vicious might
As you are plunged into the night
Hope's angel now robbed from your sight
With none to save you from your plight
Into the night, robbed from your sight

Your faithlessness my heart did break
Your torture kept me nights awake
And now revenge will make you quake
I pierce your heart with jagged stake
With jagged stake, my heart did break

PS....I'm LONGING to come up with a new form that would bear my name! That would be the ultimate poetic ecstasy for me. I'm so impressed with the Swap Quatrain, Suzette Prime, Questionku, Constanza....Some by people that I actually KNOW. It's such a thrill!
Anyway....here is something that I tried today. Tell me what you think. It is a poem made up of three stanzas. They are quatrain's but have a fifth line added. The fifth line of the first stanza takes the ending of the first two lines and combines them....the fifth line of the second stanza the endings of lines 2 and 3...and the last line of the last stanza has the ending lines of the fourth line, and the goes back to the ending of the first line. The object is to come full circle and reverse the events in the quatrain. In this case...I'm seeking revenge, and then the last line makes it plain that I'm the true sufferer. It must use a rhyme scheme. Please leave comments on what you think of this....It's pretty basic and elementary....but....It's MINE! ;)

Premium Member A Journey Over the Horizon

Does your imagination run deeper than the ocean floor?
In ecstatic feeling, pirouetting into the sublime
No ultraviolet rays, fly freely through the core

On a herculean task, hands on their creative chime
It governs everything, control it if you can
In ecstatic feeling, pirouetting into the sublime.

It encircles the world, gem endowed to every human
A journey over the horizon, utilize it well
It governs everything, control it if you can

When a canvas is filled with your moods that dwell
Stories glint, flamboyant colors on the air
A journey over the horizon, utilize it well.

Peripheral to all skills, synchronizes bodies in flair
Runs deeper than the ocean floor or higher than those stars
Stories glint, flamboyant colors on the air

When does your imagination work in time?
On a herculean task, hands on their creative chime
A journey over the horizon, utilize it well
When a canvas is filled with your moods that dwell

Free fantasy
For you and for me
Is it utilized well?

Note:
This poem is composed with the inspiration of one of my most favorite quotations: "Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world."
