794 Ang Alamat ng Bunggaitan

Ang Alamat ng Bunggaitan

Bakit at paano nga ba
Na ang tawag sa
Kanilang inalagaan

322 The Philippine Eagle: A Monument

322.

The Philippine Eagle: A Monument

Behold the Philippine Eagle, King of Birds!

The tallest eagle, terror of monkey herds

Its crest stands tall like a rooster on the roll

Hear its vibrant, authoritative call

Like a mythical griffin, it has the cover of a lion

That's why in our nation it's called “Haribon”.

Discovered by a man from United Kingdom

The faithful, monogamous Haribon (King of Birds) is only from

The Philippines, my country…a valiant country

First known to Europeans in our year of gallantry

When our national hero, Rizal, was brutally slain

By our first conqueror – the kingly Spain

This glorious bird is our monument of courage

A living emblem of our struggle for golden age

Its dignified countenance on our coin chiseled

So splendid & adorable like a handsome young man muscled

The starring on our national basketball team's logo

This is our national bird – adore, preserve & lo!

Premium Member Sunrise doesn't wait for me

Sunrise doesn’t wait for me
No alarms alert me
Outbound flights from Logan
Rumble in a rush to leave
I mumble as we are
In the travelers flight path

Old, taped, and formed
My slippers await
I do my Tim Conway shuffle
To the loo
Breathe a sigh of relief
Order from the Keurig barista

Not much changes
The old couch
Etched with my imprint
An amber tinged coffee cup
With a “PAPA” logo sits
On a “permanent” foldable table

I shall wait for sunset
Disappear within its shadowy exit
Wander its fading trails of memory
Close my eyes and wait
                                      …For my morning flight

he deserves some play
some interchange in tempest pools

my woodman makes me sigh
he makes me giggle
his pleasure’s my triumph

whatever I do is exchanged for better
my woodman’s prodigal tongue
sparks soul-confirming oaths
I lose myself

Lucky me
I have a woodman
the gipsy's cool audacity
and I’ve known the charms of love

There is no curse for the Least

Premium Member The Mourning of Broken Humanity

What a waste of humanity
to be so cold
seeing children die
whining I can not sleep
a monkey indeed
self centered
self centered constipation
we all see their lies
brain dead for sure
no empathy
no butter
for the prisoners
of their abuse
poor poor Zionists
slaughtering thousands
yet like their old logo, former Naza
fear their own demise

Premium Member Catchphrase

A timeless tale told in so many ways,
it’s archetypes such precious cargo.
Pop culture blew up a catchphrase.

The boy on a horse navigates a maze,
for the kingdom’s princess of long ago.
A timeless tale told in so many ways.

Red carpet of fire started the craze
on a silver screen with that sleek logo,
pop culture blew up a catchphrase.

Once in a while a myth will amaze
turning into the year’s hottest show.
A timeless tale told in so many ways.

Receiving it’s fair share of praise
causes a phenomenon to overflow.
Pop culture blew up a catchphrase.

From mouth to mouth it’s set ablaze
I carry the light of faraway stars aglow.
A timeless tale told in so many ways,
pop culture blew up a catchphrase.

Premium Member Little Miss Tour Merch

If you want her to merch you?
You’ve got to earn it.
She doesn’t just wear your shirt,
on her it’s a perfect fit.

Little Miss Tour Merch,
she’s your top street promoter.
Little Miss Tour Merch,
she’s your biggest supporter.

No desire to be a roadie,
or follow you to the bedroom.
She doesn’t just steal your shirt,
she inspired the logo.

Little Miss Tour Merch,
she’s at every show in town.
Little Miss Tour Merch,
she’s always down to travel.

The new chorus the band green lit?
Before the full song was rehearsed?
She sold it as an anthem.

Content in your practice space
listening from the corner.
She doesn’t just have your heart,
she’s the strings on your guitar.

Little Miss Tour Merch,
everything but sex she’ll do for free.
Little Miss Tour Merch,
if you want her? Play from the heart.

One beat before the melody,
for her to merch you?
You’ve got to earn it.

Chelsea FC

Chelsea FC by Adejola Joseph
Chelsea FC
The indomitable lion in the forest
Brave, bold, calm and courageous
We strike like a lion
And hibernate like a chameleon
Resilient and dogged
Unbroken and undefeated
Chelsea is a champion of champions
A king among kings
Chelsea
Blue is the colour
Grace is the logo
And resilient is the spirit
Chelsea.

Checking Out the Tats

Sitting by the river
There are lovely urban views,
But it’s more fun to people watch
And check out the tattoos.

A dragon snaking up an arm,
Some flowers on a calf,
An eagle near an elbow
And a wizard with a staff.

A Yankee logo on a neck,
Some words etched on a chest,
A tiger and a postcard with a stamp,
Neatly addressed.

A bird, an anchor and a leaf
And much more, I suppose,
Well-hidden from the public,
Meant to privately expose.

Premium Member Thinking About Back in Black

(If I hadn't walked past my older brother's bedroom door
I wouldn't have realized that I needed some more)**

Ladies and Gentlemen, his time came much sooner
Then we could have imagined, now mourning this crooner
On the verge of this pinnacle, about to be on top
I speak of the memorial of one Reginald Belford Scott
Just a statement to the world with this cover
Simply to let us all know they need time to mourn for their brother
All colors, no colors, none segregated
Black placard venerated
From the opening bells tolling, decibels reverberated
To the ending with a rock n roll sermon elevated
A power punch with this Nineteen Eighties driller (all killer no filler)
Now the second bestselling album to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”
Yes, it’s plain with an embossed band’s logo
It’s a value (not a hue) as far as artists go
It leaves much to our imaginations
I think that’s on purpose, to allow ruminations
So, here’s some peace for all those who lack
Wait for the headlines, we will be “Back in Black”

Premium Member Thinking About Legend

Truly a masterpiece of 'less is more',
a distinct album cover one should explore.

Little more than a handful of lines
of a galloping horse - minimal design.

A form so neat, so deft, so clean,
cutting a fine figure, suggesting a shape unseen.

It later became the de facto logo
of the American country-rock band Poco.

The red eye - a solitary splash of color,
small yet distinct on the mostly white cover.

Ten letters on the front - not exactly wordy;
beautiful cover - just don't get it dirty.

The image projects tremendous energy,
but the mostly mellow music brings back pleasant memory.
