Checking Out the Tats

Sitting by the river There are lovely urban views, But it’s more fun to people watch And check out the tattoos. A dragon snaking up an arm, Some flowers on a calf, An eagle near an elbow And a wizard with a staff. A Yankee logo on a neck, Some words etched on a chest, A tiger and a postcard with a stamp, Neatly addressed. A bird, an anchor and a leaf And much more, I suppose, Well-hidden from the public, Meant to privately expose.

That last stanza -- whoa. Ain't it the truth?... And thank you for recounting (on my site) the story of your zayde and the shot of whiskey he never spilled! Very touching. :) gw

well observed as ever Ilene , I've got to say they do nothing for me and having suffered from needle phobia I would never have one but each to their own but a tattoo done on a drunken night out is for life! hugs jan xx
