This blessing is a question
Just a thought I'm throwing out….
It is actually less a blessing
than something to think about…
Although it is inevitable…
for death we cannot defy…
If we remain in the hearts of those we leave behind
do we ever really die?
You will not live forever
And you do not have a soul
There are no hells or heavens
No charged punishments to scroll
We do not keep on going
When our ashes riddle urns
There are no gods or saviors
No exchanges or returns
You will not live forever
And you cannot sway the Fates
There are no master captains
Out beyond the crooked gates
Old soldiers never die
Old soldiers never cry
Old soldiers live in our heart
In our guts
Forever
Old soldiers live in our pride
In our huts
Forever
Old soldiers live on
Old soldiers fight on
Until the last breath
Until the inevitable death
Of hate and intolerance
Until the last breath
Until the abrupt death
Of racism and ignorance
Until the birth of liberty
Until the hard death of bigotry
Old soldiers never die
Old soldiers never cry
Like the sad sobs of the rain
Like the children in pain
Like the suffering women in poverty
And like the poor elders in misery
Old soldiers never die
Old soldiers never cry
Gentlepeople, I'm also being told
That brave Soldiers don't grow old
They linger in our mind
And they live on in our pride
Forever, eternally
With honor and dignity.
P.S. This poem is dedicated to all Soldiers, the Veterans, and to Senator John McCain.

Who
Will
Live
Forever?
We are all
passengers
on this earth.
No one
will
be
here
forever.
Just always
say thank
you Lord ...
" It is night
then
morning
will
come."
A living
... Person....
Is...
always ...
better / because
...he " she"
breathing
Well.

Looks like this old geezer
Will live on forever
When I'm out for a stroll
Gait's light as a feather
Most folks mistake me
For a much younger dude
They think I'm about sixty
Don't want to be rude
So they guess around seventy
Some guess eighty or so
Certainly don't blame them
My age doesn't show
I'm proud as a peacock
This image I'm showing
For a man who's reached 87
My pride's overflowing
Owe it to a life filled with joy
Singing just happy songs
Shooing away the nasty clouds
Sun shines all day long
If I told you
you'd live forever,
would you truly believe?
Theory
David J Walker
As silly as it sounds
So far no one has lived forever
But then
I Don’t know
The death scene could be
A rightwing conspiracy
Merely an early theory of
What happened to those not seen
For a while
But then
I Don’t know
Maybe another mile or so down
The road
And we will join them again
Words
are born in space,
words grow
in the world,
words are born
of desires and
feelings...
Words are born
in the cold,
words are born
in the heat and live
with us, wherever
we proceed...
Words stay
in the body, in the soul
accompany each one
of us and die in each one
but they do not expire... are reborn
in another of us until doomsday
come...!
We can of course live through other peoples death,
but not our own,
which also means, we cannot experience anything
after we die.
and cannot be aware when we’re dead,
just like before we’re born
So we always seem alive, from our point of view,
“we’re immortal by our very own perception”

From my poem (Lost the plot to find a way)
02/06/2021
She shuts her eyes.
They called it sleep.
They shut the door.
They extinguished the lights.
At 3am.
she awakens.
Her body deceased,
she could not move.
She notices herself,
dancing with the devil.
He claps his hands.
He grins at her.
Suddenly he cackles.
She stops to glance.
She sees his face.
His eyes like death,
looks like her friend.
he shoves her down.
She cracks her neck.
He smirks at her,
then strolls away.
Wouldn’t it be Nice to live forever
David J Walker
Wouldn’t it be nice
she said
To live forever
And never
wake up dead
To live and breathe
and feel loved
We are living forever
he said
No she said
Seriously I mean
Never Ever to die
Every day, he said, is another forever
A forever that will
Never end
An eternity painted with prayers
Waiting to be answered
It’s a matter
He said
of which days you choose
Which days to keep and
Which days to lose
I have not met them yet
The people who want to live forever
But I have met many who
Have forever and never lived
Maybe it would be those
Who have enjoyed great health
or great wealth
But more likely those who know how to love
For the lovers have the life
For they understand that loving
Is why we are here
Our purpose
People who want to live forever
Are surely those
Who contribute and feel confident
And share the love
Right?
I don't want to Die
I want to live forever
Either means
You are blessed as you love life
Or
Are sadly a sucker for punishment
I hope for your sake its the 1st
And not the latter
Who wants to live forever,
I will.
In my mind the battle ensues,
the thought that my soul is part of god,
i will not give it up, he will never be whole.
Those he took from me the pain he caused,
more fuel upon a burning sun.
I will not give up, he will never win.
Blinded stood before him,
you will never be complete.
If this is all, at the end of everything i will still stand tall.
Hear my call, I defy you.
I can imagine anybody dying,
I can attach and sew like a cloth
Any face to a lifeless corpse
Except that of my mama
I try to picture her gone
My brain slips into darkness
And thought ceases
Until my ears hear her sweet voice again
Its true, death is our common fate
A destiny we all share
It is not hunger to terrorize only the poor
But a spear swift to pierce even palace doors
But my mama who has always been there
To just one day dissapear into a crack in the earth....
Lord take me
It can never be
It would never be
Mama will live forever
