Should Vacuuming Be Listed As Full-Time Occupation

Is it any wonder that nobody likes vacuuming the floor,
Mention the word vacuum and there is a rush for the door.

Reading a newspaper or a woman's magazine is a dangerous occupation,
If the vacuuming has not been done.

If for the sake of long term security you are willing,
I will give you a shilling every time you find the vacuum working.

Blocked pipes are another reason that vacuuming is so time consuming,
When others on a break are laughing instead of helping.

There are so many similarities in Vacuuming,
To what others call working for a living.

Tools that are useless,
Workmates who pull their weight less.

Never enough money for a new machine,
But always enough for a fishing line.

No interest in your invention,
Of a machine with more function.

A supervisor on your case,
You can never seem to please.

So, lets make it official,
Doing the vacuuming should be rewarded more than a little.

Scottish
A sexy chef indeed
Pans are flung around the kitchen
And obscenities not listed
Dream rejection of me

Peter, Paul & Mary
Songs as sweet as sherry

   But their off-the-stage activities
   Surprising sexual proclivities

Premium Member Listed To Death

rushing here
rushing there
at the speed of light
getting things done
adding to the to-do list
that perpetual checklist

in the end
there is no end
the list just
keeps getting longer
no matter how
much faster i rush
i just get nowhere faster

Wait Listed

A friend passed on – not someone close
But someone I adored.
A service in her honor
I would never have ignored.

So when I heard, belatedly,
That there had been one planned,
In three days’ time, I reached out
To the person in command.

Explaining in an email
That I wanted to attend,
I thought for sure an invitation
She would thus extend.

Instead, in her reply she wrote
That there was just no room.
She’d add me to the wait list
With some others, I presume.

If she who’s being honored
Were alive, there is no doubt,
There’s no way anybody
Wanting in would be left out.

I understand a wait list
Must be started on occasion,
But not when someone’s death
Is factored into the equation.

Silver Sheaths And Gems Are Not Listed Needs

Promise not, which hand and mind can not deliver
silver sheaths and gems are not listed needs.
This world and poor in life loves a cheerful giver,
red blood flows freely whenever one bleeds!

Should you promise, your heartfelt and dearest of dreams
what on earth more, could any man dare ask?
Life and Love are not clever little mortal schemes
one profits nothing wearing a false mask!

Can you see wisdom in this, holding out for more
with hope and kindness as your saving keys?
Beach-sand is not better on distant foreign shores
neither is, living life of begging please!

Walk with a giving soul, happiness there abides
With greater wisdom one can in peaceful, soft-strides!

Black Listed

Class distinction is always with us,
Dollars are important to the rich,
Jobs went offshore in the 60s ,
Cheaper overseas, for the greedy rich,
In the 50s, scabs were brought in,
To force the shearers wages down,
Black listed were the honest workers,
Bosses wrote names,
black balled the clowns.
2112, still nothing changes,
cheaper labour, sweat of brow,
grind the worker into the ground,
bring them workers, cheap to town,
striking miners still on strike,
blacklisted by the super rich,
all the names are on computer,
don’t employ any one on it!!!
Morality bankrupt are the greedy,
Death will balance, evil books,
Brought to heel yes indeedy,
Born, poor, poor me,
wrong turn I took???
