Eating Disorders, Young Boys and Girls

The glass has teeth—
it bites at dawn,
gnawing away what flesh I thought was mine.

A rib is a rung to heaven,
but the ladder never ends.
Numbers bloom red on the bathroom scale,
they hum like insects in the skull.

I am a mannequin—
wire shoulders, hollow eyes,
a smile stitched with needles.

Children bruise themselves
against invisible rulers.
They carve equations into skin:
less, less,

stubbed toe / during a broken heart—
you said pain is pain, offered to kiss both.

we nursed the plot of a favorite episode,
argued over what constituted foreshadowing.

talking to you about the view was mostly talking to myself;
you liked cliffs, I liked what they overlooked.

The world wide web holds instantaneous information for all.
In this time of high-level vibrations, it is time to heed and adhere to the call.
There is no need to look up or outside oneself to find solutions, clarity, peace, or serenity.
Time to realize your God frequency, that dormant inner power, an inner voice of Devine clarity.

Sea Levels Rise, Then What

It gets worse day by day,   
because of our neglect.
But we look other way
and vital facts reject.

For years we’ve seen warning 
but always close our eyes.
As glaciers start melting,
we watch sea-levels rise.

Antarctic ice now thaws. 
More water this sets free.
Into ocean it pours,
so further rise we see.

Our carbon footprint grows.
We must accept this

A Mind of Peace

A clear mind finds many a pathway in the dark.
A calm mind can decipher a destination on which to embark.
A quiet mind shall find peace while others scatter and stumble.
A serene mind shall build monuments and bridges, 
while the efforts of others are hindered and crumble.

The reeds, like tattered banners limply hung
From slender, ghost-like lances held on high,
Like ancient armies, waiting in the mist
To heed the call, a long lost battle cry.
A steel grey shroud lies thinly on the fields
Whilst scattered tussocks, shoulders weighted down,
Keep vigil 'round the distant gathered host,
Lest any try to steel their winter crown.

I thought I would try A levels, how hard could it be? 
Since then I have concluded, it’s not my cup of tea.
Brainwashed into obsessing over grades on a test, 
They seem to matter more than the fact I have progressed. 
It's no longer about studying subjects I love,
It's about ensuring

Low Levels Of

Against a backdrop of despair
soothing sounds eliminate a steady
drip drip drip, water eroding thoughts
no man’s land we call it partner
bodies in the ground, rotting away
mounds of burial chambers 
holding secrets waiting to be told
Denial or curiosity, same coin
a new year for human kind, 
man kind, woman kind, all kinds
bridges built fail to serve
transmogrified wisdom symbols

Love Levels

The heart's jubilant song of love
Caroling joyously and loudly 
Feelings sway in dance 
Love is a vibe
I can't retire.
