Sea Levels Rise, Then What

It gets worse day by day,
because of our neglect.
But we look other way
and vital facts reject.

For years we’ve seen warning
but always close our eyes.
As glaciers start melting,
we watch sea-levels rise.

Antarctic ice now thaws.
More water this sets free.
Into ocean it pours,
so further rise we see.

Our carbon footprint grows.
We must accept this fact.
But our reluctance shows
in that we’re slow to act.

We dare not think it true,
so seek easy option.
We don’t know what to do
so we take no action.

Our air pollution grow,
but we put off the day
when we must change our show,
for then we’ll have to pay.

A good poem. Yes something needs to be done. There has been too much damage.

Thanks Jeanette. I think the basic message is getting through. We must stop burning fossil fuels. But there seems little urgency to act. Many talk of what they'll do by twenty thirty or thereabouts. Best wishes. Tony.

All this talk, we must do this or that, bottom line is nothing is really being done, everyone sees it as someone's problem. Thought provoking verse Tony Tom

Scary. Most of us will not survive the coming catastrophes. Scared

Hi Tom. Many thanks. We need to start thinking of future when we exceed the eight billion mark. Tony
