Latch On Poems

A Drink Of Let Go

A Drink of Let Go

Hardy Levis shorts
Stuckup seesaw
Let go of forgot
Now playing
To my mistakes Sounds of chord Shapes in time
Echo at the end before
The meeting has begun
I can't let go
I say what is life
On any casual day
Will I miss the flowers and the.trees
There's a girl over there
we latch on instantaneously
To each others soul
Maybe she can help Maybe setup my life
Maybe I can live again and always do whats right
But I am really living in someone else's dream
Iam seen praying to a human replicator
Praying not to be changed
Serving mischief
Marinated reefer
Wrapped up and traded for gunpowder
The money man
Final wish
Shark food

Premium MemberBurning Twelve Times Bright

"When stars align, and you're on track, she's all signs of the Zodiac"
~ the author, after a twelve-pack

If in your heart (a paradise) I'd delve,
'twould multiply my love for you by twelve.
I would be declared by any jury
completely mad, in a trice or hurry.
Your voice rings in a dulcet twelve-tone scale.
Your eyes enchant and wink behind a veil.
Each hour's an eternity on the clock,
as I wait, impatiently, to unlock
the latch on your affection's secret door,
I'll do the tasks of Heracles and more.
My Guinevere, the queen of ev'ry knight,
my love ever burns for you, twelve times bright.

Boy With the Blonde Hair

Pleased since the first time I saw your face
Shallow breathing, I hesitate
But you breathe for me
Face to face
You melt in my eyes
Beautiful hair that intertwines
With my finger tips
Panting slow
I kiss your lips
What is your name
What is in a name
Take mine
I denounce it
Give me a new one
Let us make our own names
Let our bodies do what hands do
I love you
Though I am shy
I latch on
I hold strong
Oh God let this be the one
Let heaven hear me
Let stars fall at his feet
Let the number of sand
Be the many ways he adores me
Let my heart be in sync
I just want exist in his arms
Wear his ring
Bear his children
Live and be his
Know and know he is mine.

Premium MemberLove and Laughter

The funnies are stealing back into my soul
They've never really strayed very far
Both love and laughter make a great pair
It's the place I latch on to my star

Laughing they say is good for your ticker
Got a pretty strong heart this old man
From first light of day till the very last glimmer
Love and laughter go hand in hand

Makes the world spin, well certainly mine
Sometimes have a tendency to get down
With uncontrollable things that happen in life
Smile brightly and banish the frowns

Just tell yourself a silly old groaner
But try hard to keep a straight face
People around you will slowly back away
And quietly give you some space

The funnies are back but not all the way
But stay tuned and trust me I say
Has this old guy ever lied to you before
Let's not go there... just have a nice day!

Dead-Link

The author of my personal journals,
the recorder of the momentous
and irrelevant
died from an attack of boredom
only recently. I am now adrift
far from any past
not equipped for unknown futures.

Being knocked off the raft
I was clinging to,
being a slow swimmer in a fast moving ocean
I doggy paddle in these long minutes
trying to out-guess next moves.

It’s hard to be calm in rough waters
we get used to the humdrum far too quickly,
take the low-key for granted.

Speaking of keys
I tried to unlock a private webpage
I had neglected for years
it turned out to be a dead-link.

I sink, I paddle on doggedly
just the usual castaway
looking for more driftwood
to latch on to.

The Life You Live You Havent

Words are predictable,
body language is revealing.
Saying it like a fool,
who are you deceiving?

Spend your life doing nothing,
telling it like it's something.
Lazy, lonely, miserable,
Who are you this evening?

Some people need to fit,
they latch on to your words,
once in opinions flip,
seeing you for your worth.

First impressions,
you've mastered it,
not the second or the third,
when shallow waters show you are but a turd.

Even when you epic fail
you tell yourself you haven't
tell yourself you pulled it off,
the life you live you haven't.

Lies wear thin but they don't reveal the lie,
they reveal the gal or guy who lives a tragic life,
once you've seen it say goodbye however harsh or sly,
they'll set you up to save themselves somewhere down the line.

A picture worth a thousand words,
body language makes words redundant,
saying good, showing worst,
sounds don't mean anything when I can see they front.

Four Point Thirteen: Flickering Firefly

Lamp on a dreary night of a feverish vagrancy,

may I latch on you as if you're mine for free?

Perhaps I could say you're heaven-sent,

spare me from this abysmal moment

Deeply and darkly tinged I am blinded,

while the storms persist you're my warm bed

You might disappear along this dour weather,

but these are the times I promise to remember

We speak no words nor exchange glances,

I'm just sitting down here taking chances

and you're the light emanating above me,

my relief as though I'm not a forsaken plea

These are not coincidences I will reminisce,

but one with fated interventions I will miss

Flickering firefly clearing the hollow night,

of a swelling cold and hazy foresight,

would you still frequent my empty porch

and volunteer to be my lifelong torch?

Downward Spiral

The fog murks its way in front of me
daylight fades into a lurid glow.
I drift loose as stones lost in my mind
hanging on to sanity by a fragile thread.

There’s a hunger within me that won’t abate
to fix my personal planet to a fiery star,
ride its path around the universe
along with other constellations
lighting luminous lamps burning the darkness.

Through an astrological lens, I pierce
the sliver of a half-moon gleaming beside my star
prods me to relinquish a pervasive sense
of hopelessness creeping into deep pools
of sadness, losing myself totally
and I am left with nothing
but a mere whisper of dust.

I latch on instead to the tail of a comet
hoping to land myself into a glorious sunset
but it speeds us through space
plunging me on a downward spiral
toward a stygian oblivion.

Premium MemberBlizzard Coming

Dark clouds portended the blizzard coming
Out of the west, ‘tis the perfect time of the year
Crops are harvested, the northern chill is numbing.

Whistling sounds of the sharp winds we hear
Surrounding our house with an eerie, ungodly siren
Out of the west, ‘tis the perfect time of the year

Inside, the family is seemingly snug and serene
Lest the snow piles up high and banks against the door
Surrounding our house with an eerie, ungodly siren

We have experienced this feeling many times before
When our hearts beat rapidly while our minds reconsider
Lest the snow pile up high and bank against the door

Sheltered against the anticipated cold so bitter
Creatures awaiting the remembered Arctic blast
When our hearts beat rapidly while our minds reconsider

Then, suddenly, the latch on the door pulls fast
Dark clouds portended the blizzard coming
When our hearts beat rapidly while our minds reconsider
Crops are harvested, the northern chill is numbing.

Hope

I hope to live a little longer.
A little longer, and a bit stronger.

Is my soul getting weak? I ask.
But to whom? I tremble.
Souls I know, hide behind a mask -
Dreaded, I fall and stumble.

Me? Oh, a little girl afraid of the night -
Like Epiales it scars and haunts,
Holds on to me tight.
Hurt, I kneel before ordeals it flaunts!

Hypnos, Thanatos and Erebus - ain't any myth;
Come, latch on and feast like a carnivore.
Slowly, heart burns to ashes with,
Flames of memories, engulfing the core.

Love always heals - but where do I find this elixir?
Like Esther I'm choking, screaming in this bell jar!

I am no beauty, no perfection, definitely not a 'chosen one'-

Yet I hope to live a little longer...
A little longer and a bit stronger!

Premium MemberBridging Inspiration

I look up high and low outside my window
While the whole wide world seems fast asleep
I think I hear sweet tears that angels weep
As breaks the far horizon with solar glow

I wander closer to my window pane
Look out and latch on to serenity
Peacefully I ponder vast infinity
While forsaking all dull thoughts mundane

Dawn's majestic celestial pageantry
Casts vibrations and dimensions apart
Bridging from the depths within my heart
Unruffled silences that whisper harmony

In the wee hours that launch the crack of dawn
A peek at heaven propels my spirit free
To roam the vast expanse of universe carefree
And release the inspiration my dream spawns
