IF I ONLY KNEW - TSF

if I 
only
knew that
all it 
took was 
one more
glance, then…

I might
have stopped
to see
if that
quick spark 
might flare
again

but the
moment’s
gone, it 
went too
soon, and
I do
regret

still I
search the
same old 
streets for 
eyes I’ll 
never
forget

Spring, I was and knew

Yellow goblet blooms of crocus wild
I ran among, once as a child.

Before I Knew Your Name

Before I knew your name, you spoke to me. 
Before I saw the contours of your face, 
or learned about your talent, or the place 
you call your home, you'd touched me lastingly. 

Before I understood your shifting moods, 
or touched your lovely skin, or heard you weep, 
you were already in me, buried deep:

I Wish I Knew

I wish I knew how acorns grew
Into a mighty oak,
But I’ve no clue and nor do you
Nor any other folk.

For certain seeds fulfill their needs
Yet take so long to grow
That, unlike weeds, our human speeds 
Of life are much too slow.

We might take heart and see how smart
Are seedlings as they sprout,
But we’ll depart before

If Mother Only Knew

My right ear quit growing 

The left one only grew

That night without knowing 

My Bro's quit growing too

Father found life boring

He left when we were two

Still we hear him snoring

If Mother only knew

Knew too much

he had the goods, would soon show the proof.

He was supposed to appear in Congress, but hours before
Somehow hitmen got by his door
He knew too much, so bad guys moved fast

Made you
One with the earth,
And
The one who glues you,
Unites you, petal by petal,
Contributes to your happiness...

If you knew...?
Would you shed another tear?

I understand
Why did I?
How I only can…
I ask why?

We understand
Why did we?
How did we blend?
Why be…?

I know
How I did?
Did I show?
Why the need?

We knew
Why did we?
Did we feel?
Only too real

Together, you and I
You and me, we know
Still asking why
Trying not to show…

deeply dark and disturbingly mysterious
diabolical and Gothic, with a hint of Victorian
as punk as any bouquet that came before
she smiled when she came upon them
They were perfect, her man knew her well
He was a keeper

the actor I knew

The actor I knew

Mikael Elphick, a talented actor
 I admired
he liked to read my poems and said they were like stories
and therefore, easy to read 
He understood I was trying to find a space between
poetry and prose, that is why I dislike calling 
what I write poetry, vignettes seem in order
Mikael was a kind man

we wish we knew this

what is that clear knowing
by which everything is known
and please speak not in riddles
or preachings asking us to atone

we dwell in an organic body-mind
as do all other sentient life forms
each consciousness is capsuled
coping with turbid life storms

reflect on the truth principle
power that bestows gift of life
let us then meld with the source 
the current that

I Knew I would not find a close parking space

I did not anticipate finding a parking space
I rarely find one at this location
Because the restaurant’s food is from outer space
It is very popular during spring vacation

I was ready to walk a mile or two
Wait! Could it be? I looked six times too
There were two ready spaces open for me to park
What a lark! I

CHILDHOOD DREAMS

When we were still kids 
Each day comes with it's ecstasy 
Steadily playing at night 
During the full moon
Right there we share our dreams 
Telling different stories 
Without hate, envy or jealousy 
Love, laughter, sharing without greed all we knew.

Our dreams, our inspiration 
Always aspiring with conviction 
Even amidst restrictions 
We keep dreaming without limitations

LAUGH HARD AT ALL THE THINGS I ALWAYS WANTED TO
SMILE AT EVERYONE I SEE
TELL MY YOUNGER SELF, “You did your best”
SAY SORRY TO MY REFLECTION—FOR ALL THE TIMES I DOUBTED HER
WATCH THE CLOUDS DRIFT AND NAME THEM AFTER MEMORIES
HUG AS MANY PEOPLE AS I

The Parrot Who Knew Too Much

Perched up high, a nosy spy,
a feathery fiend with a twinkling eye.
Mimics whispers, spills the tea,
squawking secrets recklessly!

"Mrs. Jones wears curlers bright!"
"Mr. Clark snores every night!"
"Lucy kissed the mailman twice!"
"Grandpa hides a stash of dice!"

The neighbors glare, the house is tense,
one loose beak, at their expense.
Locked away, but still he crows--
"Wait 'til you hear what
