I wished once more
and once again - until
greed became guilt and
guilt became shame.
Who, pray tell, is the arbiter
of my insignificance -
the keeper of my
contemplations...
Does my conscience bear its weight
upon the souls of others?
Petty impertinences ... that
pile one upon another, until
they're no longer petty -
instead, a pity party with
no invitees nor RSVP's,
just the echoes of
yesteryear's resolutions...
I met with Mr. Eastwood for the first time with both of us, and I know he's savvy about people's character.
I would rate Clint as, par for the course as Pebble Beach is noted for, in due part to Bing Crosby's efforts, whereto the family carried the banner until AT&T, went the distance.
Clint was good, but he had an Ace, plain Joe-Clint ... had plain-Jane, along with her many SF Bay Airian invitees--zich hile, Mata Hari.
Where's William, Clint asks? (abrupts Derek's notable timing) Oh, you met William, he's like that pineapple they've invented across the bay.
It's not called that, besides, I heard you got fired. Reprimanded Jayney. William doesn't fire, yeah a reprimand would be in order, a character like you. Well, it wasn't him, it was Mr Lars. I knew it, William never fired anybody.
I agree Jane. Mr. Eastwood, William has a way of teaching somebody like throwing a curve ball. What do you mean by that, curve ball?
Well, he talked about the last hockey game's final scoring played out, while teaching me how to change the ink in our large front office machine--the hockey game lost to the copier.
Bright balloons
from garden--
fresh cut blooms,
A bright summer bouquet
of asters and primrose,
asparagus fern gay,
elegant pink dahlia
in ceramic vase, a
touch of nostalgia.
Gracing imposing dinner table
set for twenty special invitees,
a night of fantasy and fable--
Violins softly playing Mozart
in the comfortable drawing room,
walls lined with impressionistic art.
For each guest a night to remember
welcoming them to the county bar--
initiating each new member.

An
Adorable Blessing
A baby cries!
Born Christmas Day,
Cheer, delight, ecstasy,
Dawns every face,
Eager family gather,
Father gleeful host,
Greets his invitees!
He is Jubilant?
Innocent joyous Kicks!
Jubilant Kids laugh,
Kind Lovely Midwife
Leads mother’s nursing
Mother’s night ordeals!
Nan offers prudence,
On postnatal qualms.
Peace quiet restored!
Quiet rest sleep!
Require singers tonight
Songs to uplift
Tuneful unbridled vocals
Undulating Violin waves
verily welcome X-mas
Welcome X-mas year
X- mas Year’s Zacharia
You Zach adorable”
Zach adorable boy!!
Amen!

Baby shower for popular Jodie
Fifty-six presents, games, prizes,
Lots of laughter, thirty-two co-workers in attendance
Hilarity rings out bringing in two more co-workers
Two weeks later
Same company
Same invitees.
Different mom-of-honor.
Baby shower for shy Pam.
Five gifts, three co-workers show up.
Two games, difficult to play with only three.
Lots of left over cake. Feelings of embarrassment.
Sad comparison for Pam had been to Jodie's shower
The ‘Deceivers Of Time
Masquerade Ball’
Invitees file past
Yesterday in drag,
Tomorrow disguised
Today—the Present’s mask
Memories hide
in the shadows of hope
All wishes dancing fast
Until the Jester laughs
as the final waltz ends
Deception to the last

When I say ‘Hi!’, She bids bye.
As I rush to welcome addressing 'Hello !'
Oh! No! She is busy to go.
I always wish to give, she won’t take.
Strong bond I make, she can easily break.
What’s left I can accept, she will judge and choose.
In any game she wins, I am sure to lose.
I am extravagant, she seems to be miser.
I wake up early morn, she is a late-riser.
She won’t listen when I am fluent to talk.
As I laugh loud she is grave getting shock.
As I feel compassion, she shows no mercy.
At last ended every controversy.
We decided to marry without delay.
Venue selected by her, invitees were my choice.
Date-time was fixed by her, I had no voice.
My wish! My whims! Didn’t reach on wedding day.

' STRAND NO. 760 ' Contest by Brian Strand
The greatest comedy of all
Was at her funeral-
MmaUneghe.
The old woman lived for a long, long time
In isolation
And kicked the bucket of abandonment.
They called her "witch."
She was old, unkempt, haggard and shagged
So they called her "witch."
At her funeral,
Came all sorts of guests
Invitees and dignitaries.
The real tragedy was in the
Pomp and galore in which
Mma Uneghe's passing was celebrated.
The burial was well celebrated.
A quarter of the expense
Would have given the poor woman
A happy life,
If you know what I mean.
She then transited
From dust to dust
As the pulpits often say.
She became many, many millions
Of tiny particles of dust to float.
Floating all over earth
And beyond.
Laughing at them as she did
Mocking them as they mourned.
She reached far to the stars
And back as stardusts
To settle on their birthday cakes.
All who abandoned her at old age.
Green Celebration
Shedding dry leaves since Patrik’s Day onward,
Flora of the Green Earth looks forward,
to wear new Green veil as reward.
My ever Green heart shines emerald.
I join Green celebration in glossy leafy aroma
arranging garden party in Green panorama.
Participants in dress code of Green pro-forma
enjoy delicious nutritious Green salad.
All the invitees owning great Green heart
Restless, quiet, introvert or extrovert,
Trained, dull, swift, slow or expert,
danced in delight on symphony of ballad.

Birth Day Party
My Birth day dawns
So many Phone calls wishing happy Birth day.
But the desired call did not come
My family was busy in arranging Party at evening.
My ears were waiting for the special call
Morning rolled into noon.
I became almost sure you must be coming in afternoon.
Depressed afternoon turned into colorful evening.
Party was bright with guests, friends and relatives.
Posies of flower, precious gifts left no room on the table.
I greeted all well- wishers eagerly waiting for you in vain.
You did not turn up.
Party was over.
I bade bye to all invitees
I had to retire in bed.
Only hope was left, if I could capture you in my dream.
I could not
Next day dawns.
I am older, one year bade bye to me

Invitation
Nothing less than a luxurious seven star,
A party with a bash, I anticipate so far,
My dress for occasion, a chiffon blue saree,
The preferred car, a blazing red Ferrari,
More than five hundred special invitees,
You being the first one on my friends' list,
Starting the gala event at sharp seven,
Musical evening will take us to heaven,
Dining in garden under moon and stars,
With vibrant special flavours from bar,
Fragrance of enticing luscious food,
Soups enhancing appetite for the good,
Colourful lightening arrangement will glow,
As darkness of night will gradually grow,
To the tunes of music , we all will dance,
An aura created, will be perfect for romance,
I wait crazy for you, there's no excuse anyway,
All friends through whole night must stay,
Dear! Gear up for the epicurean feast,
Put your shoes quick to the drummers beat !
