How quickly I became intoxicated,
inebriated on this bewitching night
while watching the luminance of starlight.
I drank deeply of the view with heart and soul
beyond my limit... beyond control,
so mesmerized was I by the radiant gleaming.
Stars seemed to sway and sparkle
as if they were dancing in the velvet night,
shimmering in the patterned steps of a waltz.
Through a blackened hole of stellar mass
I continued to tumble among mordant shadows.
Sober enough to admit that I was traveling
in space while hearing a celestial melody.
A hymnal song written by the Master Virtuoso,
played throughout the hallowed heavens.
Lyrics that only angel's voices are allowed to sing.
The grandeur of starlight washed over me
and inveigled a symphony of senses in my mind
until at last, I was able to fully comprehend
the pellucid meaning of their inscriptions.
I'd been granted a mere glimpse of their secrets
in the realm where fulgent stardust whispers
of what was, what is, and of what will be
long after the light within me has dimmed.

Luminescent water dweller swirling svelte
Slick slid tranquil cuddles chocolate flanks
Languish in lake's fresh flow cleanses pelt
Inveigled green murk give mammal thanks
Flip of fish bodied bristle face fierce scent
Dispersing air bubble clusters break ranks
Astonished by spine kink accomplishment
Ransack gets snack refuel on sandy banks
Sharp fang archer snares mollusc, eloquent
Velvet lips emit wet grass verdant vibe knell
Frolicking gloss body, domain of free agent
Guarantees relief, feasted minuscule morsel
Rotary manuevres engrave prey unhindered
Dagger mouth rolls marble glassy carouse
Rouge show-off swims to coldest dominion
Flagrant tail track flicks a frigid drop douse

Sit unflinching in a slumbered pose
each exhaled breath like a moor's mist,
a rhythmic pulse like a metronome
on the thin temples throb
like a snare drum's distant beat
but closer...much closer.
Yet watch the candle flame's heat,
curving and caressing the air
like a finch's cadmium wings
morphing in shadow
beating silently at midnight's
last cloaking at day's close,
Is it a temptation
reflections of loss
like a moth who is inveigled
into the fatal scorching flames,
slowly seduced by beauty's fantasy
whose warmth bathes our aching limbs.
As time slows to tacky treacle,
oozing minutes into hours
when the fire freezes the moment.
But with love,
the flame is wrath-furnaced,
dissolves like ice cubes.
Then symphonies are syncronised
as a phoenix sets its spiralled flight
that corkscrews the singing stars... regenerated.

So nonchalant, beyond dull care life seems.
Unveiled beneath, a broken heart that bleeds.
Torn by remorseful reoccurring dreams.
Of love once pure, besmirched through wanton deeds.
A furtive glance, a fine romance that strayed,
In dalliances chains enslaved by lust.
Deflowered knave in shallow trysts betrayed,
A precious love, now crushed bereft of trust.
Exposures shame was losing self-respect.
A humble life that suffers extreme pain.
When shadows fall on manners circumspect.
Suspicions running rife, apprise again.
Until ascetic doctrines renounce sin,
Inveigled by temptation deep within.

I remember being lost on holidays,
Inveigled by a fair ground’s gaudy lights.
Seeking comfort, I held a stranger’s hand.
But you were found at last, cradling as always.
I remember being walked to school, hand held.
Bedridden, you let go and I walked
Alone, aged five, up Wallsend High Street.
A huge adventure, just going to school.
I still remember the last dying days,
Holding your swollen hands in hospital.
Not sure if you really knew I was there.
You did. Blinded but hand outstretched, waiting…
All night our fingers locked… our thoughts as one.
Gently you left. But I’m still holding on.

A pendulum is but a slave of time:
What its trapped spirit wants is hidden where
The folding waves can find a friendly clime,
Far from the bloody dagger of despair.
Inveigled by amorphous accolades
Of lust, the lure to scry and linger thin
In search of faithful memories soon fades
If hungry eyes ensorcel beauty’s twin.
Æolian caresses cannot calm
The mind of Argus on his callous charge,
Though knavish gods have chosen to embalm
His eyes within a noble avian barge.
How brazen! I still crave the fleeting thrill
To break the sundial as Saint Elmo strikes the mast
Of ships, and make gray time stand still.
O, might it die so that I breathe at last!

A day that should bring
happy things,
but memories of you
was all it did bring
A dozen years past,
since you went away,
and every step taken
from then till today
I walked in your footprints
light and deft,
always minding,
not to smudge your step
Passing mistakes
piled in heaps,
and your there saying
“Honey learn as you weep”
Words of wisdom,
now I know,
you only wanted
me to grow
The tears that I cry
contain a nucleus of you,
and surrounding the rest
pure indigo blue
A day wont go past
that I wont miss you,
but sweet are the thoughts
when I dream in the dew
Inveigled in these thoughts
my beacon of one,
my beginning of end
that time begun
