Finding Heart In Tears

A day that should bring
happy things,
but memories of you
was all it did bring

A dozen years past,
since you went away,
and every step taken
from then till today

I walked in your footprints
light and deft,
always minding,
not to smudge your step

Passing mistakes
piled in heaps,
and your there saying
“Honey learn as you weep”

Words of wisdom,
now I know,
you only wanted
me to grow

The tears that I cry
contain a nucleus of you,
and surrounding the rest
pure indigo blue

A day wont go past
that I wont miss you,
but sweet are the thoughts
when I dream in the dew

Inveigled in these thoughts
my beacon of one,
my beginning of end
that time begun

The reflection in this poem is excellent. Good memories are the best and they are hard to erase. I like the flow of the words and the message. Great job! ~Joseph
