We are light and noise when we are together,
A world of shared laughter, forgetting the weather.
Your presence is sunlight, a warm, golden glow,
Where the smiles on our faces have nowhere to go.
The jokes and the stories, the carefree embrace,
Leave no room for shadows or sorrow to trace.
For hours, we exist in a bright, vivid hue,
Two lives intersecting, feeling brand new.
But then comes the moment, the quiet goodbye,
A flicker of doubt in the back of my eye.
And as you turn homeward and fade from my sight,
The vibrant world dulls, losing all of its light.
The echo of laughter still rings in the air,
A ghost of the happiness we used to share.
The world grows more silent, the colors grow dim,
Like a lighthouse that flickers and fades at the rim.
The feeling unwinds like a thread wearing thin,
Leaving an absence where you once had been.
The memory is held, a comfort, a pain,
While waiting for the moment to be bright again.

Throughout all the unyielding, cacophonous clamour,
Within the intricacies of intersecting timelines,
Overwhelmingly gnawing inside even the most remote labyrinths of your mind,
Silence listens to every rapid thrash of a trepidatious heart,
Adheres to the wheezing forced from infolding lungs,
Travels from one neuron to another,
Always looking for a pathway to calm your inner demons.
But in spite of all its longings to fix the trauma-laced flames licking your soul,
Its dreams are continuously unsuccessful,
As it paradoxically gets drowned by all the nightmarish noise.

She lived in a world of numbers, where every question had a clear answer.
Her mind moved in straight lines, solving equations with precision,
While mine wandered through the forests of words,
Twisting and turning in metaphors,
searching for meaning where
none was certain.
She could balance an equation in seconds,
But my poetry, with its tangled emotions and ambiguous endings,
Was something she never tried to solve.
We were like parallel lines, always moving side by side,
Close, but never touching—never intersecting.
Her fingers tapped out formulas on a calculator,
While mine traced lines of verse on paper.
She searched for a solution to every problem,
But I was content to live in the unsolved mysteries,
Lost in the beauty of the unknown.
In the end, we were different languages—
Her equations, my poetry—
Each beautiful in its own right,
But speaking to different parts of the universe.

A big, glass bowl of oranges
with eight pleated butterflies—
perfectly symmetrical
etched along the side.
The sunlight, with all the eagerness,
all the youth of morning
pouring through
each glass insect
casts forty intersecting rainbows
onto the deep brown landscape
of the dining
room table.
Your thumb, dragging gently along
the rim, as your tongue moves
in contemplative circles
behind a small smile.
It is always summer in the fields of my memory,
and the strawberries dance ceaselessly toward you.

Infinity times infinity,
Hearts within hearts,
Souls intertwined within souls,
Circles never-ending,
Love never-ending,
Intersecting lines,
Intersecting hearts,
Forever in time,
Forever in space,
Never to be broken,
Never severed,
Promises kept, and,
Never broken,
Infinity times infinity,
Through time and space,
Our hearts and souls,
Begs that love never ends,
Circles within circles,
Lives within many lives,
Intersected through time and space,
For centuries past lives,
The infinity of our heart and soul,
Infinity times infinity.

Their loving cup sits on a shelf
stained by the dust gathered there
Next to a grainy photo of the chair
where he first styled her hair
Tears trickle 'cross the windshield
their first and last car
Lips melting on a screeching curve
intersecting the moon and the stars

Our nation - at a crossroads now
With intersecting planes
Of concepts much at odds somehow -
Exacerbating strains.
The Democrats perplexities:
A "Heart without a Head"
Explains irrationalities -
(Dysfunction - simply said).
Republican proclivities:
A "Head without a Heart"
Explains their personalities -
(Flatlines on MDs charts).
Both play the same devout "blame game"
With terse polemics wrought
As zealots on both sides proclaim
Their hyperbolic thoughts.
They come and go yet most remain,
Though times change in due course,
And seem to think it's their domain -
Their livelihood resource.
And, money flows and money goes
Awash in large amounts
But how, from where, no accounts show;
Just smoke and mirrors doubts.
With most seats safely in the till
Few voters needs to heed,
Instead exert, exhort their will
On things inflating greed.
Then, how do we comport with this
Vast wasteland so immense?
We wax and wane and turn and twist -
It's our experience.

TREE:
A living thing I was; I graced your land-
three hundred years and more- I stood with pride.
A focal point to meet with friends to stand,
or drive through intersecting roads beside
the wall that sheltered me, your age-old tree-
assumed long-standing for eternity.
"The Heart of Balmville"- often, you called me;
so many grew up in my view's embrace.
COMMUNITY:
Inside your small historic park, you stood
for years preserved in your dear ancient wood.
Your statuesque magnificence, now gone;
our hearts are sad now missing your great limbs.
But with your stump, our memories hold on-
as images of leaves and branches dim.
We took for granted that your vision be
forever etched within this Balmville space.
TREE:
May "Heart of Balmville" live within your hearts-
I, Balmville Tree, at last, from you depart.

Complex geometry,
Lines, patterns and symbols,
Fractals and swirls,
The universe in its diversity and forms,
Intersecting lifelines,
Nature's craftsmanship and artistry,
A perfect portrait,
Blotched by nature's foes,
Mysterious design,
Incomprehensible tapestry.

Scattered Shards Gathered
Scattered shards, remnants of Eden,
Gathered to a ring of bright topaz
A simultaneous soliloquy of intentionality

Remnants of Eden United
Scattered shards, remnants of Eden,
Gathered to a ring of bright topaz
A simultaneous soliloquy of intentionality
At the crux of intersecting avenues,
Indivisible solidarity and singular consent,
Distilled in breathless agreement
Rising from opaque mists
Where gypsy heart and pilgrim spirit
Commit to a blind quest,
Stumble in silence toward the joining
As their plea peers into fleeting glimpses
Of merging tranquility
And
Feel the quickening of a singular pulse
In wordless words,
Translated by acrostic identities
Through star crossed collisions
Of shattered betrayals,
To exhale one sigh – one whisper -
Overflowing in lyrical foundations
Of delighted synchronized accord
In geometric solutions of rhymes and rhythms -
Journey into enchantment of unbreakable roundness -
A seamless garment of the eternal’s delight,
A fusion of two conscious worlds spoken as one breath.

Life is a series of intersecting streets and avenues
We have many opportunities to turn left or right,
To stop and visit vast numbers of enticing venues.
We make choices along a life path of fight or flight
At intersections we stop, go, or proceed with caution,
We have many opportunities to turn left or right.
If we make prudent choices our lives can be awesome
When we are guided by sound values and principles,
At intersections we stop, go, or proceed with caution.
Sometimes guided and mentored by fine examples
Starting with our parents, then teachers, and friends
When we are guided by sound values and principles.
Comes the time when we seemingly face a dead end,
We have no one from which to seek sound advice
Starting with our parents, then teachers, and friends.
And how we followed the road will have to suffice
Life is a series of intersecting streets and avenues,
We have no one from which to seek sound advice
To stop and visit vast numbers of enticing venues.
