Illusionist Poems

Small Portrait of a Simple Poet

I'm nothing else
that an intermediary
between healing and disillusionment...
I am unwritten verse
when I'm not understood...
I'm a steppe wolf howl
when I provoke strangeness...
I just wanted to be a simple door
that offers passage,
Window that shows landscapes...
I wanted to be answers
to all dreams
and daydreams, raptures
of ecstasy...
love and passion for
who needs,
however, I'm just
a bitter-sweet being
not blissful,
not overly sad,
I am only, Poet... !

IDLE ILLUSIONIST-

intensely
interestingly
incredibly

idly
impatiently amidst the crowded stage
inevitably
the intelligent illusionist includes intellectually
as he asks for the abdicates parade
the insecure illusionist improves idiotically
identifies insanely the interesting illusionist invests intensely
interestingly indicates incredibly
the intense illusionist intends innocently

incorporates impatiently
investigates inevitably
the intelligent illusionist includes intellectually

The soft breeze
From my lips leaves shivers
Running down your spine
Maybe I should close the door;
And shut the blinds

As I was walkin’ down the street
I thought I saw him ahead,
I followed on trembling feet
wherever he led.

We threaded through the crowd
And entered a dark lane.
The sun blushed behind a cloud
As I leapt into his arms again.

Tear blind eyes freed my senses
To see the monster manning the trap.
I halted at the hyper-spatial fences,
Poised to take a step back...

Come, thou Demond of Delgon,
Appear as my lover again for me.
I know not where he is gone,
And I may be consumed by thee.

The Illusionist

The illusionist is a clever man,
With an assistant aiming to distract.
He attempts to confuse us when he can
As we conspire to believe his act.
With his props and patter we are entranced
And then applaud when objects disappear.
Although we know it is not done by chance
As the conjurer charms his volunteer.
And so we believe our congenial host
      Who plays upon our curiosity.
And collude with those who would like to boast
That inside our minds they contrive to see.
But if we knew the secrets of his trade.
(Really having something in his sleeve).
Would we disbelieve his refined charade
When we are so willingly deceived?
Should we be so naive and innocent,
When others will beguile, with false intent?

Illusionist

You made me believe in magic
In casts and spells, my life went on
It turned very well yet so tragic
When everything was just tricks and made of illusion.

The Illusionist

He stands there
looks you straight
in the eye
And begins to tell
you the truth when
you know it’s a lie

He has become
confident in his own
manipulation tactics
An illusionist using
smoke and mirrors as
a distraction

What he has not come
to realize in his
life of delusion
Is the audience is
not fooled by his
tricks of illusion

The Great Illusionist

The Great Illusionist
You tried to defeat the beast
But failed to bring them your truth and virtue
The people’s hearts showed no mercy
The master servant of the people
And all they did was put you on the highest steeple
The steeple of shame and dishonour
The hypocrisy installed its father
And the whip, its main device
And now in these modern times
Far from your glory past
We are all tamed by the same structure, system and class
Your words do live on though greatly misunderstood
And now in such worlds divided we are lost
Lost without our guide and your guidance
Removed from your whispers and philosophy
Distilled in absolute silence
But thank you for trying and being exceptional in your deeds
We only can take your words though, assumptions mislead
And when we go about our business as slaves within the boundaries
Of this order we can only blame ourselves
For our ignorance, selfishness and cowardice
We ourselves have clamped our lives
With sins, troubles and strife
We put ourselves on the sacrifice of falsehood

The Illusionist

A top hat and a cane
A trickster’s smile dancing upon his lips.
Blank magic up his sleeve
Doves in a handkerchief.
The stag light comes to life
And curious eyes fall silent.
Smoke and lights appease the mind
Oo’s and Aa’s fill the room
Never noticing the slight slip of a hand
An extra card hidden in his collar.
A deep bow and a curtain close
He walks away with the same smile.
For it was time to trick the next flock of conscience
With their own foolishness.

The Illusionist

A Magician never divulges his secrets
So how he managed to break my heart while already broken
I’ll never know
It was not viable,
Then again, any trick can be duplicated, if remembered correctly

Rewind, replay, on my mind
Was it a slight of the hand?
The flick of the wrist
Or the abandonment of all disregard
To society, to pride, and to us
In those caramel eyes
That hypnotized me
Into believing his illusions of love
Which left me awestruck

Doves and Roses
Hidden underneath sophisticated overcoats
“Baby, I’ll never do it again”
Pulling promises out of thin air
Magic, I suppose
Complicated locks and bolts
Flashy Velvet, sequins, and gold plated cages
Lead me to believe in mystery
Of Romance
To have faith in in miracles,
Even reformation, perhaps
Oh, but Baby you made a fool of me
Devoid of all machinery, intricate backstage knots
It was a simple trickery
Disloyalty, behind a locked door
That broke my heart
