I Shall Not Want

I Shall Not Want
A polluted world.
Fame and fortune.
To be idolized.
The car of my dreams.
To live outside my means.
I shall not want.
Be humble at heart.
Not to be arrogant.
I’m content where I stand.
Have guidance through the emerald garden.
Don’t worry about tomorrow.
Just a few encouraging words.
Sense of peace through gratitude.
Psalm 23:1

Besotted

When I compare my love to frozen vines,
repressed beneath the frost’s relentless grip,
while sweetness looms, I nary taste the wines
of love that lingers taunting me to sip.

My aching skin, akin to frozen grapes,
betrays the warmth your nectar must exude.
Though pressed by weight and time, still on I traipse,
a doom I meet, forbearing interlude.

I crave your taste, but yearning still haunts me.
Your ardour shines yet coldness stains its glow.
Your charm forbidden till a bride to be,
conserved in mem’ry neath the depth of snow

Besotted by a love that’s crystallized,
Unripe fruit, yet adored, and idolized.

Premium MemberIn a World Where I Do Not Exist

I do not exist among the butterflies
Their fragile beauty idolized
I float unseen past long necked swans
A-glide upon life’s still-life pond
I am not seen on city streets
As hardened silence never seeks

I do not exist yet here I am
In a world that tells me that I don’t
Claims I am an afterthought
Of dreams that no one ever sought
And when I shout “you’re wrong, you’ll see”
My shadow bravely smiles at me

Perhaps this whole damn situation’s
A figment of my imagination
In a world where only I exist
And you do not…now there’s a twist
But wait, that’s wrong, it would be hell
For who would hear ME when I yell

Premium MemberWhen We Idolized

  ~ A Sonnet in Iambic Tetrameter ~

  Remember when we idolized
Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, and Shoeless Joe
They seemed so great back in the day
    Personas perfect, A-OK

But that was when the news was not
about their doings off the field
When little boys could really say
their heroes, golden swords did wield

Knute Rockne stood for God and right
Jack Dempsey punched with all his might
Ted Williams’ drives went out of sight
Grown men could even take delight…

But then OJ, he went to jail ~
Bruce Jenner was no more a male

Shtrump

Impotent (would-be) king sits on his golden throne
Except for his henchmen, he sits there alone
But the gold is tarnished as it never was real
Like everything in his life, the throne was something to steal
Professional grifter, con man extraordinaire
Clownish phony, complete with orange hair
Empty shell spewing lies mixed with martyr-whine
Idolized Hitler, thought him divine.

Turns out to be a toilet not a throne
So he’s in the ter where he’ll sink like a stone
If NY, DC, Miami and Atlanta prevail
The would-be king will release a mighty wail:
WITCH HUNT!
DEM STUNT!
But watch how Alvin, Jack and Fani won’t care
It’s his own deeds and words that have him caught in this snare
And for years to come, the righteous will have this story to tell:
Lie, cheat and steal and you can land in a cell!

Premium MemberA Woman We Call Queen- Tina Turner

A woman we simply call Queen.
A singer loved by millions.
The Queen of Rock.
The Queen of Soul.
Yet, overshadowed by jealousy,
Of her beloved.
Thru many years of abuse,
She was forced to endure,
She hid the tears and bruises,
Of every day of every year.
Then one day, she said no more.
He will never raise a hand to me.
She ran, and one man alone saved her.
She survived.
She endured.
She lived.
As the decades go by, she excels,
winning Grammy's, Awards, and honors,
Including starring in movies.
Yet she is still called Queen.
Idolized by millions.
On this day of her passing, we look to the clouds,
Hearing "On Silent Wings."
Knowing she is in the arms of the heavens.
               "On Silent Wings"
I will never be the same again.
I feel the whisper of the wind,
   On silent wings.

Thanks for your music and the memories.

Premium MemberElvis Presley

Cool Fact: Elvis Presley holds the record for the most platinum certificates issued by the RIAA, with 70. Elvis Presley's records spent a cumulative total of 1,155 weeks on the UK singles chart since his first hit Heartbreak Hotel released on May 11, 1956.

Everything went crazy when Elvis came upon the scene.
Ladies loved his sexy style; with controversy, he made history.
'Viva Las Vegas', one of his many films, put him up on the big screen.
In all the world, an icon and the King of Rock was he,
Shaking his Elvis pelvis so provocatively!

Perpetually has Elvis Presley’s huge estate
Remained one of the richest of celebrities we prize.
Even now, he’s the singer that most folks impersonate.
So handsome was this star with jet black hair and ice blue eyes.
‘Love Me Tender’ easily could make
Each and every young girl swoon.
Yesterday till today, still idolized, he died much too soon.

Penguin and Dolphin

What think you about Penguin
How as a bird quite genuine?
Yes, it’s a sea bird: penguin?
About future flights sanguine?

Chatting up was I Edwin,
Who really seemed set to win
Both a fair Mr. Godwin
And fairer me on Penguin
Being like Idolized Dolphin:
To man no less The Friendly;
Hence, needs less The Unfriendly…

A face you’d have named florid
Like lightning flashed The Livid
And breaths once much calm full flares,
That could ignite a race: hare’s
“A bird pretending a fish
Don’t match with man made a fish…

As you do gods shall bless you
And the next Elijah – you”

The Time Has Come To Bury Tim

the time has come to bury tim
his artificial heart could not take the reality
when he was born, the world became more colorful
his energy and his smile was like water to what once was
i will remember his baseball card collection and his passion for the game
he could have been another ozzie smith for he cut enough flips
he idolized derek jeter as well and would light up when he saw him play
when his weak heart expressed itself, gone was his original dream
however, he found another
after reading poems by e.e. cummings, he tried to write poems like him
tim emulated and imitated until he made it his own
one day i will post a few of his works
until then, the time has come to bury tim
rest easy, dear sweet nephew, i was hoping that you would make it to ten

Premium MemberRoyal Matriarch

Royal Matriarch

Beloved, cherished, idolized
Who could this person be?
A pop star or the president?
A hot celebrity?

Not even close, ten cuts above
A modest hero reigns
A selfless woman, strong and bold
A beauty with the brains

This person is no other than
The royal matriarch
The solid rock beneath our feet
Our night light in the dark

A shoulder for our heavy hearts
An ear to catch our plight
The silver lining through it all
Our wings when we take flight

Happy Mother’s Day to you
My mother, my dear friend
If words relayed my gratitude
My book would never end…

Premium MemberOle Eighty Seven

Ole Eighty-seven, rugged and vain,
Serpentine on cold iron rails,
Story filled with strength and pain,
A legendary iron horse tale.

World-renowned freight train of yesteryear,
Lives ever in glory and fame,
A roaring chain without peers,
Ole Eighty-seven, her hailed nickname.

An expression of past golden days,
Its piercing whistle wailed and cried,
In early morn misty haze,
Slithering down the steep mountainside.

Ole Eighty-seven, out of control,
Its air brakes without warning failed,
Hauling a load of black gold,
Down a steep and twisting mountain grade.

Engine to last car, forthwith long gone,
Fondly evoked through song and pen,
Derailed on its final run,
Bringing the end to an idolized train.

Ole Eighty-seven, strong and able,
Railway giant of nobility,
Mayhap as fact and fable,
Railway saga of antiquity.

Slavery

SLAVERY

Our ancestors idolized natural beauties, they were enslaved...

Our generation idolizes men, wealth,riches
We enslaved ourselves!

Until we know how to worship only the
King of Kings…
Lord of lords
Creator of the universe
God the Father
God the son ,God as man named Jesus,
God the Holy Spirit.

Once we know whom to serve, we will be free from slavery!

The Letter

This is letter, an autumnal leaf from the abode heart
There are many alphabets, many words, many sentences
There are immense desire, fragrant emotions
There are dyed intoxicated soul, delightful idol of you
Everything there are sermonizing the speech of you
This your are none but the soul, my soul of love

But sometimes I lose this highlighted letter
I see myself being idolized in the very distant past
Again sometimes see I’m the sound of supreme being
That's why
In this wordy statements,
In this actionable confessions,
in this realistic presence
I can't find myself

Cause- there is you
This your are none but the soul, my soul of love

Yes, sometimes where I feel
Love is eternal young,
ever powerful
when it lives in control

there another time same I feel
Love is savage, heartless killer
when can't control it

oh! What a terrible power of love has
when it crosses its limitation then it kills all

In fear of being killed
In one winter morning
In the foggy grave
with the tears of falling dreams
The lifeless spirit lives as a corpse
On the letter which cut into pieces

The Image

Humility is a fantasy
Born out of a narcissistic mind
He who appears to care so much
Convinces fools with niceties - most times

The image pushes away the camera
Yet poses with a smile
He donates money
Anonymous - In devilish style

His gospel flows freely
He has a restless appetite for the applause
We stare in admiration - amazement
Convinced - he's doing it for the cause

When he’s exposed we say there's Karma
A self-justification for ignoring all the signs
We were mesmerized by his performance
We silently idolized

Beware of the image
The image could be a reflection of you
Perhaps this isn't about admiring him
As much as it is about desiring admiration too?

Happy Fathers Day

Where the morning hugs
nighttime with gentle sighs
Floating on a warm breeze caressed
with whispered goodbyes
Where words and emotions can
always be realized
The sun and the moon play
together and stars are idolized
Within the thinly vailed atmosphere
of dreams and reality
Where the sun and the moon
reveal their personality
To all the daddy's who love
with a fatherly technicality
Here's to you on this
special day with all the love
With great admiration for
stepping up and rising above
Showing and being there for
anything your kids can think of
I bow down with the utmost
respect to say to you, well done
Like the heavens above showing
your kids that your the one
Being that father for your
kids without question

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!
