Premium MemberThe moment lives forever in my heart

it was a harrowing goodbye
his body still warm
when they took him away

the cold embrace of death
was not to get a hold of him
until i was willing to give way

From a tangled home life, a rocky start.
I ran breathless, and met sunshining days,
friends who will live forever in my heart,
moments to treasure in rarest of ways,
beauty and wonder in my new life phase.

Much better than secrets darkly shadowed--
sunsets so lovely you reach to possess;
your children at play, fond memories stowed
their small hands in yours in silent caress,
wonders of life are leaving me breathless!

Love is a painting, daubed,
perchance on someone’s heart
A folly when it flutters,
a mystery dank and dark.

Romance is mostly happenstance
whispers wafting in the night,
What if’s - floating yesterdays
never quite in sight.

Love paints a heart with madness,
bright colors lined in black
But always adds a tree -lined road,
forever winding back.

Premium MemberThe Key To My Heart

You have found the key to my heart
It’s safe in your care when we are apart
The door is locked as you can see
You only have to turn the key

Put the key in the lock and give it a turn
You’ll ignite the fire; the passion will burn
You know you mean the world to me
Forever in my heart you will always be

Hold on to the key don’t give it away
Together forever we will always stay
We share a love that’s oh so true
I’m glad I share my heart with you

Inspiration for this is a song I heard on the radio with the line 'Key to my heart'

Oceans of a sapphire blue are keeping us apart
Friends and family are always forever in my heart
Speak on the phone occasionally and may meet up one day
Not the same as being together to hear the words we say

You can’t really know what’s going on in my life
I try to smile and laugh, hide my worries and my strife
It’s hard to know the truth when my face cannot be seen
Being far away from you isn’t part of ‘living the dream’

Does he know - he lives forever - in my dreams?
And that every vision I create - is through his eyes of green.
Does he know - I still walk with him - along the shore of Evermore?
On that path of make-believe - that led me to a castle door
Where as a child I - placed my heart - forever in his hands
And wrote – With all my heart – I love daddy - in the sand.
