Forever In My Heart

Oceans of a sapphire blue are keeping us apart
Friends and family are always forever in my heart
Speak on the phone occasionally and may meet up one day
Not the same as being together to hear the words we say

You can’t really know what’s going on in my life
I try to smile and laugh, hide my worries and my strife
It’s hard to know the truth when my face cannot be seen
Being far away from you isn’t part of ‘living the dream’

It's weird Quinlan hes having the time of his life and I just want him to spread his wings and fly. I have no idea when he will be home - he may stay in the UK and work. Its about all my friends and family no one in particular. hugs as ever my wonderful friend. Jan xxxxx

No Quinlan its not about anyone in particular maybe if I changed the title it wouldn't give people the wrong idea! Hugs as ever to you - you are the most special friend I could wish to meet xxxxx

So true David but it is very difficult for me to just take off at the drop of a hat - my elderly parents are my priority - I would dearly love to get to the UK more often but its impossible without a lot of planning. Hugs jan xx

Those long term relationships, I just don't know about them!! But it's great if absence can make his heart grow even fonder, sweetie.

This is getting me seriously worried Andrea! LOL This wasn't written with the intention of being about long distance relationships with a guy - can't understand from my words why it's given that impression. Hugs as ever Jan xxxx

Dear Jan, Those who are dearest to me all live at a distance. If I didn't have a telephone, I wouldn't have any communication at all some days. Still, I know how sad it is to miss your loved ones. You touched my heart. I'll send you a Soup Mail. Best wishes, Carolyn

I wouldn't call describe it as loneliness Tim, despite everything that's going I'm on a high and I feel amazing. Would love someone to take over for a few days - dad still in hospital mum in care. It's tough emotionally but hopefully next week things will be brighter and I have wonderful friends in my life to keep me smiling :-) Hugs as ever my friend Jan xxx

I can feel the intense longing in this poem. I know some very close friends of mine who have to be away from their families to study/work. I'm sure emails and calls aren't enough because nothing can beat real hugs. I always try my best to be a really kind brother to them so they can have someone to run to just in case times get rough. Hugs from this side of the world to you, Jan!
