We have a chance each morning…
before we walk out our front door
to be a better person…
than we were the day before…
Right away we notice…
when our feet first hit the floor
that we are a little different
than we were the day before.
Certainly we’re one day older…
but there’s also something more…
more than just our age
that makes us different than before.
Love and loss…victory and defeat…
we never know what’s in store
whatever happened yesterday…good or bad
makes us a little different t
han we were the day before.
Each day brings with it new adventures…
each moment we’re awake
and we hope we learn as much from our successes
as we do from our mistakes.
But on we go…we forge ahead…
out into the world we soar…
hoping today we are a little better
than we were the day before.
Perhaps a little kinder, more compassionate,
more accepting…and what’s more…
perhaps a little wiser t
han we were the day before.
If not…there is one consolation…
tomorrow…
when our feet first hit the floor
we’ll be given another chance
to be a little better
than we were the day before.
The tiny giant
was independently reliant.
He was brutely handsome, such a pity
because she was awfully pretty.
The old news came in a deafening whisper.
She read it slowly and brisker.
He was a knight by day.
She left a bitter sweet note with joyful dismay.
Hand written on a typewriter.
Her heart was heavy and so much lighter.
He was riding at a slow speed
when he had a deliberate accident on his steed.
She let out a silent scream
when she saw the invisible scene.
It was on TV.
A live recording for all to see.
He swapped his horse for an ox
from the school of hard knocks.
The beast was dumb and much dafter.
Her knight died and they all lived happily ever after.
This is a true story all fiction to be sure on.
Now all she has is his OXY-MORON.
Amidst the bulkheads of life,
What is it that we search for?
Are we looking for
The seeds of a crowd?
Am I looking for you, who is not me here—
Or you looking for me, who is not you?
Forgetting that very moment,
We simply gaze out the train window.
The Han River comes into view.
It feels as though I hear the voices of the crowd.
The long, groaning sound of the subway echoes:
"Clack-clack, clack-clack."
Where on earth
Am I right now?
"The next stop is Sungshin Women's University,
Sungshin Women's University Station."
"Passengers for getting off
Please use the right-hand doors."
In just one year ‘Star Wars’ will turn fifty,
yet it wears this inviolable crown.
A motion picture of such high renown,
George Lucas gifted us his galaxy.
I can say with absolute certainty
I’ll be at its opening day downtown.
In just one year
we can see it how it was meant to be.
Han shot first is how it really went down,
no need to discuss the scene’s runaround.
Back on the big screen causing a frenzy
in just one year.
My Wish
Hello Ms. Johnson, I’m sure this sounds strange
our mutual friend, said you need a change.
She told me how hard you work every day,
come home to your children, no time for play.
Your husband left you without any money
and traded family, for tainted honey.
You work as a nurse, working hard for each dime,
yet nothing’s left over at holiday time.
A holiday spent solely enjoying life,
playing with your kids no worry and no strife.
this dream keeps you going, each and every day,
my dear Ms. Johnson I believe I have a way.
I have a house with an awesome ocean view
for two weeks Ms. Johnson, it belongs to you.
I’m going on a journey and would find it grand
if you could watch my house and enjoy my strand.
If you and your children would like to come here,
believe me Ms. Johnson you’ve nothing to fear.
When you call Janet, she’ll give you my number,
my wish for you is a little less cumber.
Sincerely Brenda Meier-Hans

Contest: My Wish For You
for Han
I never noticed I never
called. I should call now
& keep calling from this
place beyond love, beyond
space, where all things
are constantly renewing
themselves. It is a difficult
thing to be born. I never
noticed before I heard her
call with a voice two
thousand miles away. Her
voice from a place beyond
trust, beyond time, where
all things are forgiven
for trying their best, and
failing. It is difficult to tell
a person you miss them
when you don’t know how
to get back. It is far too easy
to believe there are reasons
not to call, & keep calling—
Our lives are parallel lines
that will meet in the infinite.
But the infinite is here,
right now. Outside my window
the stars are raising their little white
flags above their little white
heads. Inside I am writing you
this poem. Can you hear me?
Those greyed pink strands
That trickle with a crackle
As neurons motor there their weigh
That Brian that named itself
I gave the voices in my head their own costumes
Some synapses may have snap

Some people don’t have an inner voice
I think I got their share
Some just grunt
Not the day to ask how I am
Some whisper tirades of alarms
Some plot within
while chances of escape are slim
They all came from planets
No earthlings
Scarred Wars
Things Han could have responded….
Me and Luke are a thing
Once you go Chewie…
Get your stuff outta of the falcon
You snogged your brother
I am doing this to get away from you, you nutter
My name is Indiana
Something something
this comes way.
Harrison Ford of action movie fame
Han Solo, a hero's name he can claim
Though not a Jedi Knight
He fought for what was right
Always wound up with a beautiful dame
Then took the role of Indiana Jones
An archaeologitst who studied bones
Although he hated snakes
Indy had what it takes
An ample pair of courageous cajones
The plain bricks two, four, six, and eight
in red and in white, were these days
left at the bottom of the crate
well hidden from the young boy's gaze,
now mesmerized by bricks in grays.
with stunning shapes and cogs and wheels
a kit that cost three hundred bucks
"oh boy, Han Solo's ship," he squeals
"the giant one, the max deluxe!"
As piece by piece from box, he plucks.
He built the craft in just two days
placed upon his bedroom shelf
it now does nothing; sits and stays
a thing of beauty in itself.
The plain bricks two, four, six, and eight
abandoned for a week or two
still in the bottom of the crate
the ones the boy thought he outgrew
were emptied out and sorted through.
And as he spied, the bricks all spilled
he thought of all the things to build.

It all began in a laboratory in Wuhan;
Shan Chi sneezed next to Li Huan,
And they both gave it to Sue Han,
Who spread it all over Fenghuang.
Shie Ming went to Taiwan,
And she wasn't the only one,
Who talked to Sue Han
Who got it from a cousin from Wuhan.
And now Lien Mien Yong
Also went to Hong Kong,
It spread all along,
And it found Zhou Xong
He gave it to Kay Lee
Who stood next to me
In the mall in Juechii
Where I was eating Sushi.
Like many others I love this myth,
celebrate once (or twice for the Sith);
Geeks know 'Han Shot First' is truth;
May the fourth be with you
if you know the real date is May twenty fifth.
Han nhi hu mai tumhare sapno ka Rajkumar.
Na he mai safed ghode p sawar aata hu...
Pr kya mai tumse door kabhi jaa pata hu?
