He was a gumptious enterprising chap
To his monetary endeavors, I gave a simple clap
He developed a brand-new computer app
It pointed out a lucrative treasure map
Why didn’t he go broke? Asked my pal Hap
Because he then invented a tasty wrap
And a guard dog that gives you a zap
He was a gumptious enterprising chap

I had heard about the new cult in town, the gray rabbit express
It was stated that the followers did not show much happiness
They dressed in gray outfits, dresses usually, and rabbit ears
What is your main concern? I asked the sheriff. What are your fears?
I wonder if these girls were abducted, you need to interview them.
at the gate I was turned around by guard dog named Flem.
knew what his name was because he had a sign on his collar, in blue.
I ran from this compound, feeling threatened, ‘tis true.
The girls did not attend public school, but they sometimes came to town.
never alone; their chaperone was close and always gave a frown.
I tried to speak to them a few times, but they ignored me and my voice.
I gave up finally, said the most aggressive interviewer in town, Mrs. Joyce.
I saw four of them on the street one day, walking in a solemn line.
I said good day and asked how they were, none of them said “fine”.
They ignored me as if I had not spoken at all, brainwashed maybe.
Soon joined by another cult chaperone, her lapel said McGee.

These are interesting times:
hordes of Hitler Youth
are marching out
from our institutes of higher learning,
those who believe that 'all lives matter'
are labeled racists.
We saw none of this coming,
and is that our kid in that zombie mob?
Dad has been busy at the golf course,
mom coaching Little Legue soccer.
We thought it was a good life
the dream
at the heart of the American Dream
not noticing the corrosive rot
being sold as truth,
and now,
and now,
we are all very sick,
even the dog has been brain-washed,
it is behaving like a rabid Nazi,
not a big leap for an Alsatian guard dog.

Is the Lord just a scarecrow
watching over my fields
Is He no more than a guard dog
springing from his heels
Nay the Lord is my shepherd
I am His treasure
With love He watches over me
Tenderly guards my family

I do not see the house at first, I see the bird feeders and a fat cat.
The striped beast lies in wait on the path to Aunt Marvel's house.
Like an intimidating guard dog, probably aware of the chubby robins
The scene is beautiful with foxglove, daisies, marigolds and bluebells.
Johnny jump ups, begonias, and lilies delight the air with fragrance.
Past the cat I see Aunt Marvel's pretty gingerbread house, it suits her.
Painted in a gorgeous peach that takes nothing away from her garden.
“Flower Gorilla won’t bite you!” She yells from the porch. “Come on up!”

When it comes to achieving your goals
Be as determined as a chained-up guard dog
Salivating at the opportunity
To do what you are meant for.

Darkness Did Deliver
Darkness of night did deliver much peace,
And was quiet as they both will increase;
Heard a sound;
Animal around;
A guard dog that is owned by the police.

Calling, stalling, bawling
He never seems to have been calling,
And keeps putting it off and stalling;
Never knew;
Had no clue;
She was left standing there bawling.

Cute black bear has a perfect behind
and her manicured paws are so kind
When she sits on a chair
all the male bears just stare -
her sheer beauty, it just blows their mind!
A friend has given me a little black bear as a replacement for the soft toy we used to have in my husband’s car – I hope she lasts as long as our old ‘guard dog’!

He's got a reptilian body and wings,
and breathe so hot he can singe anything,
he's very popular especially in summer,
if people barbecue's wind up a blunder,
He'll help them out if they need some heat,
that way he can also get a little barbecue treat,
my dragon will even eat some corn on the cob,
he loves his meat but is no vegetable snob,
We take him camping which is great,
he's more than a guard dog whose got what it takes,
flying around the campsite keeping a look out,
like a guardian angel with a dragon snout,
And in the winter if we lose our electricity,
he provides heat out of necessity,
never having a need for matches or a bic lighter,
my pet dragon is a great fireplace provider,
He helps me out with the yard keeping it clean,
raking leaves up with his capable wings,
and then carefully singeing it with his breathe,
the leaves all go up in smoke and theres no mess,
But he's most popular at the Renaissance Fair,
when we dress up in our costumes and volunteer,
bringing our pet dragon along where he too performs,
dancing a little jig while we sing our medieval songs.

One hot summer day long ago,
My hubby and I thought we'd go
to barbecue we
accepted with glee
by newlyweds, we got to know.
I said we'd bring baked pork and beans,
A salad of mixed garden greens,
And also, we'd take
A chocolate cake
Plus six-pack of beer, by all means.
Time came in the blink of an eye.
We packed up our picnic supply.
Arrived at their house,
Just me and my spouse,
The only ones who had come by.
We walked to the back of the yard;
And passed their guard dog with regard.
They were so surprised
Upset, they chastised,
"Oh no, you have caught us off guard!"
You see- in their pool, they were found
In 'birthday suits' splashing around.
"The picnic's next week
They yelled with a shriek!"
Embarrassed, we ran homeward bound!

People Try to steal the best jerky
But it's guarded by Tom the Turkey
I bought that turkey to protect the jerky
some people prefer a guard dog but tom's the best
he's not really protecting the jerky just his nest
he has a girlfriend too he is really protective
if anyone goes near her he'll get them
The only person he likes is me
because i've known him since he was a baby
so before you think about taking the jerky
just think of Tom the Turkey.

I am a guard dog
No will or thoughts of my own
To this angel I belong
Hurting her I will not condone
Though I will do only as told
Never more never less
And I shall protect her until my blood runs cold
For she is my only bliss
But make no mistake
Some orders go unsaid
Those as well I do take
And I will hunt you until at my feet you lie dead

As I wonder about with a weary waggling weak tail,
looking for a peaceful perfectly polished place to rest,
since I have no more real relatives,
I seek solace in science as a solely secured
scheme for my soul;yet, peace eludes me,
I was born as a guard dog;
An Alsatian!nosy,nasty and naughty,
When my original flamboyant fine fellow was still alive,
I reigned supreme;swimming,skating and skiing,
we do things in common like twinkling tolerable twins,
Playing at the park with plenty pretty primitive children,
It was a full fun fair and I became a friend to a flaxen ferret,
who harmonized my heroic hard-edged heart with her
nice nifty nature; I fell flat for her,
engrossed in this long lasting leisure or pleasure , then came
one dark dry day that disaster struck which was despicable,
I loss my entire family ,friends and no foe; oh,Frank!
in a careless crash that crushed the car,
Since then,I became hopeless, homeless, helpless and heartless,
Lord!let them live in liberty in life beyond.
