Green Grannie Faerie

Green granny faerie ends up on the Subway express
Every St Patrick’s day and her hair is a mess.
She tells tales about witches, goblins and such.
No one can shush her, her cheeks are all flush.

She is excited like a little girl, she has a happy face.
The subway riders know her and treat her with grace.

If Grannie could speak to you today,
This is what she'd want to say…..

“My Dear, Dear Grands, I love you so.
But Father said, “It’s time to go.”

My Dear, Dear Grands, do not feel sad.
My soul is with Jesus.  Rejoicing, glad.

Listen to your elders and grow up right.
Choose the goodness of God…. Seek to live in

Flat on her stomach Grannie rode
her adrenalin overflowed 
	she went in style 
	with a big smile
into the paddle battle she flowed

The heart of an ancient wahine
she called her personal genie
	a goofy foot true
	she already knew
she’d forgotten her bikini

Grannie won the right of way
a righteous spot they all say
	her stick’s outline
	her own design
shaper champion this day

I go to visit my kindly grannie,
And I am met by her golden orange cat;
With a kink in his whisker and a tummy fat,
The door opens after many an irritable knock-
I am caught in a generous loud yell for my nanny.
She ushers me inside and I sit on an absurd old chair,
The chair keeps wanting
