initially I saw no humanoid qualities in the beast
he was a throwback, not orangutan, but not man either
his eyes were frighteningly dark with glowing suns in the center
how could I communicate with this being?
I heard a thought in my head that I knew was not mine
okay, he can implant thoughts, so is he reading mine?
I tried to be more careful about what I thought
desperately not looking at his jagged teeth
they were stained a crimson red
was he a cannibal?
He threw back his head and howled
it was a mysteriously infectious sound
I threw back my head and howled too
we might not be the same species
but it was kismet that we landed on the same island
it had been a day since I saw another survivor from the plane
a tattooed teenage boy who had run off into the jungle
a few minutes later, I heard shrieks and screams
I plan to stay here, I told the beast, as I built a fire.
He gave me a slow smile and I wondered if I would be his dinner.

Paralysis of the esophagus

Can be frighteningly perilous
and even worse, embarrass us

Some people don’t hike through the wood,
especially on All Hallows Eve.
Ghosts of boys and girls of good
float at the campfire, if you believe.
Elves and pixies dance through the trees,
with taunting, mocking, and leering.
They swing and sway in the brash breeze,
their faces frighteningly jeering.
What was that? The crack in the wind
unleashes demons and banshees!
Their hideous yowling will send
even the bravest to their knees.
Ghosts and goblins arise from their graves,
harmonize in a cacophonous chant.
Don’t try to hide in the darkened caves.
They’ll find you in their raucous rant.
They’ll steal your bones with giggling glee
and make toothpicks with your ribs.
Quickly now, turn. Run, and flee
before they find you and call out “Dibs!”

Life
Is pointless..
A point would
Stake out a
World of separation..
Which would
Display the drama
Appearing in
The life
As is known..
Which is
Beautifully
Frighteningly
Wow..!!

An ocean of people pulled by the moon
Frighteningly stand on foundations of sand.
A word deemed unkind will cause them to swoon
And so, by their hand, all dissent is banned.
Teetered precariously on their feels,
Not thinking it strange they constantly change.
Those thought against get no court of appeals,
No trial arranged, no pris’ner exchange,
No quarter, no mercy, no clemency,
And no kindness found, no mutual ground.
No one allowed simply to disagree.
But, they, too, are bound by rules that confound.
This can’t be good for our society.
Drowning beneath a wave of fantasy.

Amusan's Tears
Amusan's tears says something,
That thing is very far from nothing.
First, it was an infectious smile,
Later, it became tears from a mile.
This tears goes beyond the victory,
It carries that which is not a mystery.
Yes, the gold medal has been won,
After engaging in the stressful run.
The flag is flying frighteningly high,
I don't know if I should heave a sigh.
The world is standing up for Nigeria,
Popularly known as the giant of Africa.
Nigeria is celebrated at the world stage,
But her citizens are trapped in a cage.
Tears rolling down the cheeks every day,
Because of bullets not intended to stray.
Many are swallowed by the untimely grave,
Including those who were always brave.
They are tearful walking on poverty's crutches,
Saying life has thrown at them forceful punches.
If you decide to put these men on those chairs,
I will take your minds back to Amusan's tears.

I saw a need
For a time of repose
Where I'd gather my
Chicks in a crate
Fretting for anything out of
My power
Has made me feel less
Not so great
So I rest and I pray
Call it a day
Leave the whole mess in God's care
To do what is best, with all that entails
Giving my friend's ears a rest
Where did you go?,they will query ?
We thought you had dropped from the earth
And were sailing the skies
In your latest disguise
Well,we missed you ,
For what it is worth
Are you back now for good?
Or is this a stop
On the journey that sent you away
And when will you see
All that's deemed needed seen
And come back fully present to stay
It was never as grand
As imagined
Nor frighteningly ever as dire
As what's cooked in the mind
Which is often unkind
My travels have proved this for sure
Each day with it's mortifications
Of body,and spirit,and will
Are reflections of fears ,yours
Masquerading as drills ,yours
Of these I have taken my fill
Yes I'm home in myself
Chickens in tow
Now if I can just get
These ducks in a row
I'm out of here!

The blue haired witch came into the valley with a blue moon.
The wind changed directions when it sensed her arrival.
Shadows grew bashful as her natural beauty materialized.
Reverent wonder followed her footsteps into the forest.
She is magnificent, the owls hooted to each other.
It was no accident that she materialized in October.
She exuded mystery in a frighteningly unfamiliar way.
What will she do to us? The oaks and elms whispered.
Their leaves twinkled into the wind, wondering also.
The blue haired witch held up a finger. A good night to arrive.
Bats flung themselves into a crevice of the old volcano.
She is here, they tweeted to each other – our new mistress.

Simple yes,
so tremendously simple...
Simple,
frighteningly
simple...
find the haystack,
lose the needle,
light the fire,
turn off the water...
Simple,
frighteningly
simple...
do wrong calculation,
topple house of cards,
build ancient dreams...
Simple,
insanely... do
and undo the complicated... 1

Sometimes I teeter on the brink
Have difficulty getting along, I think,
Definitely lost and frighteningly alone
Without my ubiquitous cellular phone.
Once upon a time, so long ago,
I could freely come and go
But now I'm a prisoner and so alone
Without my ubiquitous cellular phone.
I remember when I would come and go
My machine would pick up friend and foe
But now I dare not leave my home
Without my ubiquitous cellular phone.
When I reach for that little black gadget
And find it missing from its usual pocket
I panic and break out in a sweaty groan
Without my ubiquitous cellular phone.

Hounds howled packed deep
Darkness upon pitch blackness
coldness surrounding glaciers
invisible yet unpredictable
Catch your breath
Breathe even thou it's frigid
You're not alone
Please don't go that way
Yield, be, cautious
Bound for home
Lights are brightening
making some frighteningly
Warmness surround frozen feelings
They soon fade in dark
warming and comfort welcome as so
The lights are lit, for you can't miss them
I'm here waiting while my heart breaks
Bound for home
I'm home with a broken heart
please be bound for home
I'm here
heartbroken, yet
I'm here
Bound for home
