He's just biding his time, watching what the west is doing, he knows he has the power to invade, he did with the Crimea, I think he'll play the long game, if he steps back now he'll look weak. Tom

Interesting conjecture, gw. I thought Biden had made it clear to him to back off, but apparently not. Truth is, if Putin wants Ukraine, he can take it. None of the world's leaders want a wider war right now, I think. Maybe. Who knows? America certainly has no appetite for a war in that location! That, I'll bet on.

Thanks for commenting, Milt. Looks like this kind of poem isn't pleasing to most Soupers... That said, it looks to my aging vision that Biden has made it clear to Putin that the US will never put boots on the ground in the Ukraine, and that's just what Putin wanted to find out. Now he can take his time and do all sorts of harm -- cyber attacks, blackmail, shutting off energy sources... -- beside or in addition to an invasion. Good grief! ~ gw
