Premium Member Summer of Smiles

A summer of smiles, a paradise of play,
lively, lighthearted laughter, each delirious day -
I clobbered all contenders in ping-pong.
I sought and I seized every fly ball in the field
in the picturesque park where I wheeled.
The charms of childhood’s recreation revealed -
I reach back and recall a sweet summer song.

The Game

Today is the biggest baseball game of the year with the crowd .
The sound of the ball hitting the bat .
It is going to be a great day for baseball.
The teams the field; it is time to play.
The first pitch was a home run everyone knew it was gone from the .
It is the seventh inning the score is 3-2 and the best hitter was up.
And he swing and a miss he struck out.
It is the bottom of the seventh; they are down by 1 run.
The 6'2 monster is up to bat. He gets hold of one and it's gone tie game.
The and the coming from the crowd in the bottom of the ninth.
Bases loaded the score is 3-3, no outs. the bat went.
It was a deep fly ball, but he caught it. The runner tags up. Is it enough to score?
And it is the game is over. The dogs are the new West Virginia state champions.
As the senior holds up the trophy for the last time. In his final high school game.

Fruit For Tiny Eyes

it was a magnificent mile up from his tiny eyes. its fruit sprinkled on his makeshift diamond. he rested on the stone wall that settled between the races. the hispanic party was on the left. the silver side on the right. both homes chuckled at the meager one seeking to reach the choicest fruit. the reddish yellow one, not plump yet, is what he favored. the neighbor kids assembled to tidy the field.

he didn’t perceive how they developed. a home run was a fly ball into the pavement. he views the pastime now with a crocked smile. produce tables are where he chooses his refreshments. recalling the encounters of the meager boys and girls, and how nice the hispanic household next door was to him. he wishes they are fine.

First Time Around

A smile on her face
and a gleam in her eye,
zeal gets her on first.
      W A T C H
Next play, pure luck
pitcher overthrows second.
She's half-way round.
       F O C U S
Third batter bunts;
out number one at first,
She makes it to third.
       G L E A M
Sacrifice fly ball
she heads for home.
Ump bellows, "Safe!"

Premium Member I'D Rather Pick Flowers

If I weren't afraid, I'd pluck some dainty flowers
Be unashamed of mostly women at showers,
Stand with you dressed in choir robes and singing hymnals,
Be sweet like a kitty not roar like animals
Hold infant with both hands, and not catch a fly ball,
Be very nice and kind with my mother-in-law,
Chewing gum and smiling, not crunching jawbreakers,
Great in mid-life with no crisis, and no takers.

Fly Ball

Children hit a ball through their window
It crashed into their bedroom inside
Hitting his wife right between the legs
She complained to her husband wide eyed

She told him,"Go out there and get them"
"That hurt me so much it still lingers"
He said,"I will, because I'm hurt too"
"It almost broke three of my fingers!"

Baseball

When you crush a ball in the gap,
it makes you feel unstoppable.
When you make a diving catch,
it feels like you're on top of the world.
When you steal a base,
it's like you can do no wrong.
But when you strike out,
sometimes you want to hang your head.
When you miss a fly ball,
you want to dwell on the fact that you messed up.
When you get thrown out and you have dirt in your eyes,
it can be hard to pick yourself up.
But in baseball, you can't get caught up in mistakes,
you have to be ready for the next pitch.
Baseball isn't just a game,
the way you play baseball is the way you should live your life.
Always keep moving,
even when you make mistakes.

Premium Member The Coyote

For years, you have been trying to catch that elusive bird.
In your cartoons, we have never heard a single word.
Warner Brothers decided to give the late Mel Blanc a break.
With no dialogue, there were many foolish steps you would take.

That Acme Company must have made a fortune off you.
You failed at every single attempt you would do.
Each fly ball you hit never left the ballpark.
With rockets, catapults, and bombs, you kept missing your mark.

The lousiest luck hit you in each episode.
That roadrunner kept zooming down the desert road.
With each failure, you kept coming back the next day.
Give it up, coyote. Roadrunners do not taste good anyway.

Fly Ball

Got to catch that ball,

It's coming towards me now,

I hope I don't fall,

I got it, oh my god, wow,

what do I do with it now?

Softball Time!

Hopefully the fly-ball catch
And around the bases dash!
Out for fun and maybe win
Play and play over again

Team Players

Team players shake hands good luck
Shoot scores the hockey puck
The soccer player kicks the ball
The sky diver takes the fall
The football player must run fast
All winners first or last
A little white ball and a tee
A game of golf or maybe rugby
The skater twirls with such grace
The prize horse comes in first place
The Olympics draws a big crowd
Monster trucks are very loud
Base ball has the fly ball
The referee makes the call
Wrestling well i find that fake
A race with boats on the lake
Roll the ball and knock down the pins
The whistle blows see them swim
From the bleachers comes cheers and screams
Volleyball played in teams
The highest mountains they like to climb
The race car hurries to the finish line
You should really consider if your tall
Getting in to playing basketball
liking sports to watch or play
Win or loose thats okay
