Premium Member Ballerina

There once was a belle in velvet of jade,
Whose gown swept the square — a grand serenade;
She slipped in the crowd,
Her skirt flared too loud,
She got up, laughed and danced, unashamed, unafraid.

Seed in the Shadows

In seventh grade’s uncertain glow,
She sat outside where shadows grow.
Backpacks slumped, the sunlight waned,
While restless truths could not be named.

A thought slipped free, both shy and sly,
A quiet murmur: I think I’m bi.
The friend leaned close, her gaze intent,
Questions sharp as the day was spent.

How do you know? Does a girl’s soft face
Haunt your mind in a secret place?
She shook her head, though deep inside,
The truth stirred fierce, refused to hide.

Two girls in Python’s tented gloom,
One kissing the other’s skin in bloom—
A spark had flared, both hot and sweet,
A memory time would not defeat.

Curious—nothing more, the claim,
A verdict wrapped in quiet shame.
Yet there beneath that fading sun,
Her truth had bloomed—its fight begun.

We speak in light

We speak in light, though not in tongue, With glances flared and silence sung. No alphabet could ever hold The stories written in the soul.

Yet still we try, with breath and fire To map the stars of our desire, And every word, though lost or plain, Returns as thunder, shaped by rain.

MY ADDED VERSUS:
Bows on solemn flower blooms
and scented layers of flared perfume
flow down rows of headstones and tombs.
I've looked at death that way.

But now I tend to ask God why
people visit and freshly cry.
We all know when loved ones die
they rise on His stairway.

I've looked at death from both sides now
from heart to soul and creased my brow.
It's cemeteries I recall.
I really don't know death at all.

Babes and Moms know love far beyond
the reasons seasoning their bond.
Loving a child is blessing dawned.
I've looked at fair that way.

But I live with maternal pain.
My childhood baby dreams met stain.
Now I'm thunder in my son's rain.
Won't give my sadness sway.

I've looked at fair from both sides now
from deep held faith and still somehow
it's his special needs I recall.
I really don't know fair at all.

Debate

In halls of thought, where words take flight,
Two minds converge to seek the light.
With logic keen, they shape their case,
Yet truth slips past in reason’s race.

An ancient art from ages old,
Where questions flared and thoughts were bold.
Each voice would yield, if proved untrue,
In search of wisdom, clear and new.

But now the stage is dressed with flair,
Where rhetoric perfumes the air.
To win, to shine the heart’s desire
Outweighs the pulse of truth’s soft fire.

The speaker stands with polished grace,
Defending views, no fault to face.
Concede a point? The crowd might jeer
For strength, not doubt, earns favor here.

And listeners, swayed by voice and tone,
Let bias rule the mind alone.
A tale well-told, a voice that sings,
Can lift false wings o’er truer things.

Yet still, this dance has worth to find:
It stirs the soul, awakens mind.
Not truth’s last word, but seeds we sow
For curious hearts to learn and grow.

So let the clash of thought unfold
In stories shared, in ideas bold.
Not to decree what’s right or wrong,
But spark the path where minds grow strong.

Premium Member Black Hole Love

The time I got from eternity made me a part of you,
as my desire flared like the blazing galaxy of the cosmos,
I was keen to see the day my dreams would come true,
when your love will pull me though the void of oneness.

The sense of yearning came in the zero hour of awakening,
soaring on the dreaming wings of the silenced time,
stalled in my sky where you glided like a consumed star,
its catching cadence created a surreal symphony in my heart.

The rhythm of celestial music harmonized with my essence,
where the ethereal emotions sank in the space of rhapsody
that wrapped you and me, blending us together forever,
consecrated the concept of capturing craving called love.

At the acme of surreal desire of magnetic longing,
the private space between us imploded to nothingness.
Our fused souls then turned into oblivious singularity,
suspended in the deep space of invisible obscurity.

As your captivating allure sucked my psyche within you,
bending my self-control and deforming my sense of time,
I gravitated with my stellar passion at fervent horizon of fusion,
lost myself within your infinite depth of black hole love.

Premium Member Victorian Christmas Past

Upon a grassy hill, so long ago,
our lovely, old Victorian-style home
was built in eighteen eighty-six, aglow
with cozy rooms and firesides burning bright.
So charming were the winding stairs that flared
neath the cathedral ceiling's chandelier.
Outdoors, a rolling lawn and gardens spread
beside a stony brook that rambled on.

A time I still remember- Christmas Day
in nineteen fifty-three- age fourteen then,
and I recall those very special hours
at home, so cozy, warm with my loved ones
of many generations, happily
around the sparkling tree with old-time trim
of bubble lights, glass balls, and Christmas songs
playing softly on the record player.

Extended family- my mom and dad,
grandparents, brother, cousins, uncles, aunts-
spent happy hours, and such a blessed time
was shared as peace and love were felt by all
as I, once the youngest, now the oldest
generation, carry on that spirit
and make traditions last, to someday be
my children and grandchildren’s Christmas past.

Kundalini

They told me it coils, waiting—
some snake of light
at the root of all this flesh.
But what stirred in me
was quieter than myth.
Not fire, not ecstasy—
just a flicker behind the ribs
when I wasn’t asking
for anything at all.
It didn’t climb,
it drifted,
slow and unsure
like the memory of a song
you’re not sure you dreamed.
No chakras flared.
No visions came.
Only my breath paused—
and for a blink
I wasn’t sure it was mine.
I stood still in the hallway,
half-listening
for footsteps that never came.
Was that spirit?
Or just the mind
finding a shape
for its own ache?

Breathe spilled like bone

Ariana shrugged facing Josh’s mocking clap
the stringy harmonica rang acrobatically on the streetlights.
He handed her a firebomb,
eyes sharp as vinegar.
They ran across the hot asphalt,
watching the brass kite rise.
Both caught in the whirlpool of the maze,
 they guided the trumpet,
mandolin filling the air, sinking into the smokehouse.

Her jacket flared, body pitching like a haystack, cracked like an explosion.
Cigar smoke swindled
trembling hands at the phone’s text crime. Tightened waist, ribs vacant
Her throat rasped open,
gasping. Stomps flew, trumpets lit,
feathers popped, and breath spilled like bone in the dusk.

Premium Member Reflections in the Sand

I'm in reflection again
a rear window spy
in the solitude
of speechless silence
at this hour, we are a poem, a cloud, no,
prints in the sand, where we went
when us was awakening like the mercies of a brand-new morning.
Across the brown beach, tiptoed,
as burrowing crabs dived, evading the wading birds-
mostly egrets, and the tides flared their nostrils
with the fanfaronade of prissy white brides
vanishing our trail

Premium Member Mother Swan

Soaring above the lake of my summer home.
Bringing back supper from arduous roam.

The oak trees lined the lake with beauty so serine.
With birds of life flying into the trees as they sing.

I gently land slowly on a pristine mirrored lake.
As my feet skid on the water, creating a wake.

Majestically, my wings flared open for my gentle rest
My young hatchlings swam to me as they leave their nest.

Gently, I nudge them back to our sacred abode.
Sharing worms with them as their beaks take hold.

Contentedly, I sighed as my love for them fills my heart.
Soon, sadness will come as they will be ready to part.

Until then, I will guide them into this life of beauty that never ends.
As I, a mother, will always watch them with love and lament.

Soul of glass

I was a girl with no life
Or a being with no purpose.
I had no one compassionate,
Although my soul was always nervous.

The life I barely built in those years,
Came crashing down to a point..my eyes were in tears.
There was nothing I could do, powerless to intervene,
Even God didn't care when I let out a scream.

I tried hard to build of my life something new,
But hatred is all I got.. Why? I had no clue.
I felt like a beast trapped in metal chains,
Waiting to be free from the heart to the veins.

A heart waiting to be nurtured and cared,
Only to be thrown into the merciless fire that flared.
The eyes that were filled with joy at a time,
Now brimmed with tears that weren't worthy a dime.

Premium Member Heart

In my lonely heart crevice
It was always you
Beginning to end
My serendipitous glue
Good or bad
My heart was yours
Through heartbreak
And many closed doors
Unopened and flared
My heart it new
You my love
Were my souls hue
Crimson and golden
Clear and consise
No stupid thing
You were so wise
Played like a fiddle
Every string just right
Lonely my heart
It knew your demise
And hear I cry
Lonely tears wept down
My face tear streaked
A faceless clown

Boundless

A warm ember that revives
The icy void that froze me from within
Whispers carried on the breeze like autumn leaves
Unveiling a beauty that forever ascends

My desire once depleted
Scarred from the burns that sear
Until you flared the torch of my soul
Illuminating my path of darkness when all seemed unclear

I felt the force of a sapphire storm in your gaze
A bond that crystallized as your hand fell into mine
The arid landscape transforms into a welcoming haven
Vibrant and bright as our souls intertwine

I wandered through the twilight of my own shadow
In the most fragile hours of endless longing
Mapping the contours that led me back home
In the crevices of your love, i have found my place of belonging
