Family

When winds are rough,
And tear at hopes and dreams
When days are dark, and nights are tough,
And over-long, it seems
When bitter clouds collect above,
And ache and break and pour
We'll batten down the hatches,
Just like we did before.
You see, to me - we're made to last;
To wait, contented, warm;
To stand and know the past has passed.
For now, it's just a storm.
If you should fray, or fall apart,
In any where or when
We’ll always try, with all our heart,
To make you whole again.
But if you do fall behind,
And break and shake to bits
The day will come where you will find,
The pieces still all fit.
That's quite enough of strain and strife,
And painful days, astray.
This isn't at all funny, life.
Enough for now, okay?

Peace of mind

PEACE OF MIND

left hurt and wounded by my own actions,
yeah you started it but i didnt have to go there,
i shouldve just minded my business,
ignored the situation,
but i didnt,
i couldnt bite my tongue,
i couldn’t refute the anger you sent me in shockwaves,
words that i shouldve said but i didnt,
words that i shouldnt of said but did,
things i did in anger,
my actions speak louder than my words ever could,
all you seen were my actions,
you never even comprehended my words.

Premium MemberPleasant Sense of Humour

Wholesome humour
reverberates freedom mirth
shared in the family of joy-filled home
making us have a taste of heaven on earth...

Daddy’s jokes champion laughter
easing gloom of loss for triumph-birth
sometimes his riddles keep us chuckling
as his cheerful life enigmas we try to unearth...

Mama’s sense of humour is undeniably funny
letting us praise her midst warmth of fellowship hearth
oh, how I miss those exuberant times
along my reflection of gladness-values' worth.

As we rejoice in the Lord* always
good sense of humour is never a dearth
since it "blunts the sharp blades of reality"
while making us thankful to God for our divine jubilant perth.

Toddler Hulk

I’m thinking of a person
Who is strong and resilient.
Big in personality but size is small.
When mad, they turn a green pigment.
All is lost when anger worsens.
Tantrums raging, escalating.
Tired now, limbs in a sprawl.
I’m talking about toddler phasing,
A daily battle of exertion.

Premium MemberMother And The Henhouse

Mother let out a sneeze in the henhouse again
Out of every opening flew a squawking hen
From the drama
Came my mama
Basket of eggs feathers in hair and a sheepish grin

Premium MemberWhen Will I Grow Up

When will I finally fill your shoes,
Reach maturity like you did?
You seemed to have all the answers
When I was just a kid.
I've been waiting a long time now
So maybe I missed my turn,
I'm well past the age you were,
By now I should have learned!
How did you do the adulting, so effortless,
Not overwhelmed or lost?
You juggled a job,a family, and never
Dropped any ball we tossed.
You seemed so fearless, standing tall,
A million arms to answer each call.
All I can think when life comes at me
Is I don't even have half your balls.

Premium MemberAwe Family

My husband is over protective.
Less stress is his doctor's objective.
But with two teens at home,
Always on the damn phone,
"Let go" isn't always effective!

My teen daughter is always respectful.
But with chores she is ever forgetful.
Leaving notes doesn't help,
So I tried Grampas belt,
Now we laugh on the floor as we wrestle!

Too many pets with too many holes!
What goes in them from their cute pet bowls,
Comes out of more than just one,
If I don't clean it's not done,
Making me ill seems to be their goals!

Premium MemberStill Holding My Own

"Somethings become part of our existence, never dispensing them however old or cracked they are...! May not be out of any special fondness or attachment, but simply so, defying all rationale."- By Poet

The syllable count-10, 7, 7, 10 is followed in all the three limericks.

I owned my house many many years back.
Changed my furniture, even kitchen rack.
But there is a rusted sink. 10,
It is tilted at the brink
Fear if it will come off the hinge and crack

Now my sink looks a worn out contraption.
My wife's upset, has a hot reaction.
All its former glamor, gone.
In my wife's eyes, it's a thorn.
Still hold it to my strange satisfaction!

Though a washbasin, looks a urinal.
Water keeps flowing as through a canal.
In lower pipe, there's a kink.
Anytime my sink may sink.
Why I keep it, I have no rationale!

Premium MemberMade With Love And kindness

It's a soup that's made to order never from a store
A little bouillon treat that's filled with herbs galore
Not the kind you get from packets, no not that kind !
with itty bitty chicken bits it has onions you can find.
I start with chicken base then add a clove of garlic,
turmeric and salt with a dash of home made magic.
I simmer for an hour while the veggies steam & swim,
singing in a playful voice, "a little blessed hymn".

I start with a clean counter then tuck my hair right in
wearing pinafore of white, with little ducks that swim
I stew it then I stir it, with a large wooden spoon
telling funny stories to a soup that cooks til' noon
Made with love and kindness, it really hits the spot,
I cook it just like mama did, when I was just a tot.
It's a soup that's made to order, never from a store,
this little bouillon treat is filled with herbs galore.

Enjoy !

Premium Memberno sense in family reunion

the oldsters were the ones who were predictable
Aunt Marjorie would bring something to sell
If you said “no thank you” she would try to guilt you into it
“I will give them to you if you cannot afford them.”
She is gone now.

Uncle Ronald and Aunt Donna had no reason to come to the reunion.
They sat by themselves, and talked to no one, not even each other.
We tried to park Neal in their corner, but he did not stay there long.
Neal is the most boring family member of any family to ever be born.

Cousin Neal rattles off stories about himself in a weird monotone voice.
Following one person or another from table to table.
Desperate for attention, a bachelor who remained single until he was sixty.
The marriage did not last two weeks.

Uncle Bill was one of the highlights of the family reunion.
He told wildly outrageous stories that had all of us laughing.
Even if we had heard them before, they were still funny.
He is gone now too.

There is no sense in going back to the reunion.
The only ones left are people I do not recognize, Neal, Ronald and Donna.
A waste of my time, and no one appreciates my chocolate chip cookies anyway.

Premium MemberHappy Father's Day: Daddy Was A Gypsy

Daddy was a Gypsy…..we roamed from town to town
Sometimes a little tipsy….but he had to wash it down
Never stay too long…always have a song…to sing
Mama followed Daddy…they loved each other so
After copulating… there were four of us to show
When people saw us coming…doors were open wide
When we were going….everybody cried
Cause we brought happiness…always a new quest
Daddy was a Gypsy
And we follow where he leads.

Vs1
Living the life of a gypsy
We didn't have much to our name
But daddy always told us
We should never be ashamed
Mama said our riches
Were different than the rest
We were rich in love
And rich in happiness
Chorus*
Vs2
Well we never met a stranger
Always had one along
All of them would tell us
Our family s so strong
I may not've known then
But the thing that i now know
Mama was our heart
And daddy is our soul
Chorus*

Premium MemberSIBLING SUPPORT

Special child triumphs midst physical zest
Expressing his love with warm gestures’ best
As his hugs and embrace
Reign over wheelchair race
Making him the winner in running test!

In pursuit to be champ in sports fest
Our special son is cheered to the fullest
While siblings with God's grace*
Drive him for success-pace
So, they all receive trophy, feeling blest!

*2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Premium MemberA Distant Goodbye

Make changes to break the cycle
Be mindful, always aware
Never create a fearful unsafe home
Always protect and care

Fear as his dads car pulled into the driveway
Watching the removal of his dads belt
Knowing what was coming next
Not only was it physical pain this little boy felt

Watching his mum experience the same
Confusion and fear filled his little being
No idea the reason why
He witnessed the horror he was seeing

Confusion and fear turned to anger
A teenager now numbing his pain
Alcohol and drugs his best mate
Trying to erase those memories that remain

A father he became …to a baby boy
He vowed his family would never be afraid
Their home would be their safe place
That vow sacred and unbroken to this day

A protective, loving, funny, kind man
His family his reason why
Created a safe happy home full of laughter
That cycle of abuse now a distant Goodbye!

Premium MemberLaughter In The Air

Laughter is the secret to a long and happy life
Try to laugh at yourself is my best advice
Watch a funny movie and watch the chuckles flow
Check out how many times you smile, as you see your children grow
When your friend tells you a joke, respond in a kind with a humorous expression
Laugh with your children at the clowns in the parade procession
Remember those family reunions with their happy times
The family portrait with those great smiles, a gentle reminder that I am entering my prime
Laughter is like a river that can wash away tears
Send it out to everyone, especially those you hold dear
It lowers stress levels, I am sure we would all agree
Let's all send out a big burst of laughter starting with me

Premium MemberLove

"One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life. The word is love." Sophocles, Greek Poet

How is the tender word love felt and seen,
words have many meanings what does love mean?

Love can always be heart warming and viewed,
as we enjoy a meal with loving food.
A funny laugh is a great attitude,
it sure can turn around your day and mood.
Love and kindness puts a stop to a feud,
saying bad words and your mouth should be glued.
All your friends and family should include,
loving days with plenty of gratitude.

Love can be great to set everyone free,
this is uniquely for you and for me.
No more weight now to bear we can just flee,
let's fly free like a little yellow bee.
