Earthquakes

Shaken up my dreams
Shaken up my home
Shaken up my family
Shaken up my body

Destroyed my soul
Destroyed my existence
Destroyed my peace
Destroyed my tranquility

Wiped out my heart
Wiped out my city
Wiped out my country
Wiped out my Nation

Oh earthquake
You destroyed
Everything!

Earthquakes Strike, Causing Pain and Fright

Earthquakes strike, causing pain and fright,
Buildings shake, bringing death to life,
Hopes have been lost in the sad night,
Uncertain time, a time of strife.

The dreams crumble, homes are destroyed,
Many mourn for what they have lost,
Families grieve for what once joyed,
Memories shattered, future tossed.

Through the ruins, a ray of hope,
-The past can never be regained-
People rise, determined to cope,
Life's Spirit is never contained.

Life goes on with sadness and tears,
Brik-by-brick rebuilding begins,
We won't forget throughout the years,
With true love, humanity wins.

So let us stand in unity,
And never forget the lives lost,
Let's all pray in humility,
For those who bear this immense cost.

We are a vapor, like a dew,
A shadow at the break of dawn,
Tomorrow could be me or... you,
Today alive, tomorrow... gone.

Earthquakes In the Heart

I don't desire passion
     of thunderstorm, volcano
    ...earthquakes in the heart...
      I wish soft sea love
     calm and peaceful amor...

Premium Member Earthquakes Tonight In Ca

Down from the Sierra they rolled.
Daughter asked, Are you kicking
my chair?
On a big couch, I sat,
Felt absolutely nothing.
There were three in a row.
Of low magnitude.
But she felt it hard.
Usually, earthquakes here,
feel or have a rolling motion.
Tonight, not so!
And no, are not a frightening
sensation.

What a horrifying two days people in California had,
I was shocked, my breath taken away, so very sad,
For all my poetry soup friends that live there or close,
Hope you are all safe, you must have all with fear froze,
Our prayers are with you, and you are in everyone’s thoughts,
Hope scare for more earthquakes has lessened, love you lots!

Premium Member In the Land of Earthquakes

Why, in the land of earthquakes,
Must we suffer disregard
As pale as lightning?
In a place designed to mingle,
Not connect,
I am a single band of light
Afraid of fading
Lest I meet the wet
Of human contact.
Were I to wane
As ebbing tides
Would I be any less deserving
Of the care
One feels for oceans?
Were I an edifice of stone
Would I be any less a symbol
Of the awe one has for mountains?
An octopus may encompass
All it sees within its grasp
But I am less predator than person,
Not bereft of longing and able
To take all I see to places
Of the mind only wishes can imagine.
Why, in the land of mayhem,
Must I battle with the sky
For your attention?
Were I a star in my demise
Would you mourn me
As you would a constellation?
See the flicker of my flame
For it beams as hot
As novas when they bloom and burn.

Premium Member Earthquakes and Volcanoes

Earthquake erupting volcanoes,
And a summer snow storm,
Will anyone heed the warning,
The earth is continuing to warm.

We kill in the name of a deity,
An allegedly merciful being,
And very regrettably,
Don’t cherish the short time we have for living.

Grown men playing a child’s game,
For the obscenely big buck,
And if you are extremely good looking,
You have all the good luck.

The arts are abysmal,
Music is at best humdrum,
The movies are intendent,
For the blind, deaf, and extremely dumb.

Can this madness ever stop?
Will the hatred ever end?
This is the internal conundrum,
We are doomed to repeat again and again.

Earthquakes

We're proud of things we're in control
Relaxed, at ease with daily cares.
We rule ourselves, no fear at all
As we juggle desires and money affairs.

We are not fazed by things that unnerve,
As long as these do not hit us home.
The wayward ones get what they deserve,
We send the needy where they come from.

But there are things we cannot handle
And these may come anytime to break
Our human pride and we find we're not able
To negotiate, deter, or cancel an earthquake.

An earthquake with enormous dimensions
Pain that destroy your joy and your smile
An internal earthquake that no one can see
Thoughts that destroy and that you are alone with
Pain that provides tears on your cheek
An internal earthquakes a cry that no one hears
The pleasure of life die in pain and heavy thoughts
An internal earthquake that no one can see
A rose that withers and eventually dies

Looked up falt lines on the internet
Found out information that I regret
Now I am shaking in my boots
Living life is not a party hoot

Be ready for at any time, quake
And life as we know it will take
A plunge into the past forsake
Be ready at all times don't hesitate

Haiku: the Earthquakes

The curse of earthquakes
Punishment for unknown crime
Given by nature

Earthquakes

You know this isn't right,
it's not the way we should be,
I know you'll never want this,
because you choose to see her in me.

I no longer deny the fact of that being true,
wish you could no longer deny the fact that
I'm so in love with you.

I can't change this,
though I know you wish I could,
but say even I could,
You know I never would.

Slowly but surely, the truth I am beginning to see,
the paths were set for you to choose from,
hopefully you want to walk them with me.

I want to be with you forever, so
I'll do whatever it takes,
because when you make love to me,
it seems the whole earth quakes.
