Earthquakes Tonight In Ca

Down from the Sierra they rolled.
Daughter asked, Are you kicking
my chair?
On a big couch, I sat,
Felt absolutely nothing.
There were three in a row.
Of low magnitude.
But she felt it hard.
Usually, earthquakes here,
feel or have a rolling motion.
Tonight, not so!
And no, are not a frightening
sensation.

Hello Panagiota, earthquakes can be dangerous. Where do you go when there is one happening? Where is a safe place to be? Houses and homes can be destroyed. Hugs Darlene xx

Darlene. Some cities have strong quakes. They last a few minutes. You ride it out inside. Then there are aftershocks. Mostly a rolling motion like on a boat. Very mild where I live. San Francisco had a bad one in 89" . My daughter saw the streets roll like carpets. I was in my car, it was bouncing up and down.in 89 in Sf. People died, buildings fell. I don't live in that type of city where buildings fall or folks die. You hardly feel it. It lasts seconds. Japan and other lands have fierce earthquakes"" Southern Ca. Roads split open, etc. fires here are bad...meant some of CA. Not here. Thanks. Rock and Roll Pangie. Xx

Pangie I really liked "are you kicking my chair?" When I was in Nevada there was an earthquake tremor and I thought it was the neighbors in the adjoining duplex being frisky; it almost threw me out of bed too.

I lived in Southern California many years before moving here to Hawaii forty one years ago. I was frightened as a child but as I grew older I came to accept them. I love the Rock and roll Pangie. Hugs xxoo

I never felt one in So Cal. But living in the Marina section of San Francisco, holy cow. That section is built on sand, plus the buildings did the "hula" during a quake. I left before the Big One in 1989. Good thing. Houses collapsed, people died. Earthquakes are worlwide. Most, people won't even know their city had one. I felt one in Chicago, decades ago...unbelievable, but true. See the USGS for Hawaii or any place. Rock and Roll Pangie xx
