Caribbean adventure await
Searching for the legendary amber diamond
Sealing one's fate
All packed ready mate
Emotions tingle about the mining
Caribbean adventure await
Taking the challenging bait
Swimming the ocean depths long and winding
Sealing one's fate
Discovered below great timing
Get your facts straight
Caribbean adventure await
Sipping tropical beverages on a date
Grateful, discovering the financial chiming
Sealing one's fate
Fool's river panhandling dining
Until someone yells, wait
Caribbean adventure await
Sealing one's fate
A diamond in the rough
Both feet in depth to help it up
But no matter how much I scrubbed
I couldn't wash off the mud
Though my teary eyes could see its bright form
It's wrapped in mud so I gave it up
Lady Diamond rose as each new day dawns
In her gentle hands her household yawns
A model once in the camera’s light
Now clothed in the light of Jesus Christ
She served her husband, taught each child
With patient, grace and spirit mild
Two sons, two daughters, hearts held near
Her labor deep, her teaching clear
By day she gave till strength was thin
By night the moon would tuck her in
The birds sang praise when morning came
And heaven blessed her quiet name
God be praised for women who stand
With Proverbs’ 31 wisdom in their hand
All women, God’s beautiful bouquet
With Lady Diamond showing the way
Through gaping chasms and depths untold,
Thou leadest me into Thy light;
Each grief I bear, each loss I hold,
Makes stronger still my faith's pure might.
Thou carvedst me deep, through trials and knife,
Each cut a step to eternal Life.
The weight of the cross, the sting of the thorn,
In the crucible of love, a new heart is born.
Through shadows that linger, through starless night,
Thou’rt grinding my edges till I shine just right.
Every scar tells the story of Grace,
Every flaw touched by a Saviour’s embrace.
Like a diamond in the rough, I was hidden, unseen,
But Thy hands, O Lord, make the broken gleam.
Like stars above,
I’ll reflect Thy boundless love.
Purified by suffering’s flame,
I’ll rise and glorify Thy name,
A jewel cut by Thy hand.
Let me sparkle in the promised land.
So rest, O soul, in the Saviour’s hand,
For the Master’s touch is never in vain—
Let Him grind and polish as He hath planned.
A humble jewel I shall remain.
Shine, crazy diamond, shine!
In the darkness of despair where shadows loom,
Evolves the diamond from the ashy gloom.
From fiery trials and pressured pain,
Emerges the diamond struggling - not in vain.
The cuts and chips make the light shine bright,
Revealing beauty hidden from sight.
The diamond in the ashes formed by the flame,
A witness of resilience, it does proclaim.
Each facet carved and every tear shed,
Polishes the diamond and the soul’s thread.
Through disdainful despair, hope still thrives
Like the diamond in the furnace, our spirit survives.
For in the deep dangerous dark and doomed night,
The diamond, the survivor – brilliantly beautiful, bold and bright.

(I wrote this poem for my niece who went through such difficulty and yet shone through it all. She continues to face her challenges with God's grace and her own willpower.)
The darkness spreads with night fall
The objects in the far sky look so small.
The dark sky is lighted up with the moon
That's God's blessing and boon.
The moon dazzles bright,so high
It appears bigger than stars to eye.
The radiance of moon spread far and wide
The heart longs to take the sky ride.
The moons appears like a diamond, rich and rare
Yet,never fails,it's brightness to share.
The phases of moon is a wonderful journey
Though at first it seems tiny.
In the night sky, moon is a glory
With a silver light,like a luminescent corry.
Heart-shaped diamond ring
I will never break this heart
May this heart shine love
Diamond you were shy and wary,
Peeking from behind a crate,
Your gaze portrayed that we were scary,
So still, you sat, resigned to wait.
Pearl, in your white and silver coat so bright,
You moved with grace and eager trust,
You circled near with pure delight,
As though you were waiting for us just.
Indoors in gentle state you reign,
Soft sovereigns our control insures,
Your rule is complete in this domain,
You have taken this place and made it yours.
By day you claim the chairs as we leave,
By night, our bed is half your own,
No protest do you ever receive,
Your royal rights are well known.
This could have been such a cold place,
With all our children leaving us alone,
For love has filled each quiet space,
Pearl and Diamond you have claimed your throne.
They found you in the dust behind the barns
A skittish spark with lightning in your legs
A diamond in the rough with uncut charm
All promise
All heartbeat
All raw edges
You burst onto the track like dawn breaking
Crowds rising as your hooves carved out a future
Every stride a prophecy every win a rumor
That greatness had been hiding in plain sight
Seasons wear on even the brightest stones
Your shine dulled not from lack but from living
From so many winning miles run hard
Expectations stacked like saddles on your back
Some whispered you’d lost your glimmer
That the sparkle they once saw slipped away
But diamonds don’t vanish they change
They carry their history in every facet
Every scuff a story every flaw a truth
And you Diamond Scuffle…
Still catch the light in your own way
Not the blinding flash of a rising star
The steady gleam of something that’s endured
You may not blaze like you once did
But you still shine
With the weight of everything you’ve been
A diamond still…
Just one that’s learned what brilliance costs
Line of inquiry:
“We look at spirit not at form
Our touch is gentle, kind and warm
We but reflect God’s love and light
‘Tis the path to which we conform”
Unseeking Seeker
Look upon others with grace
That it may be applied to you
A tame tongue a kind face
Strong faith bonding like glue
So spake Simple Simon
As he walks with holy heart
Soul shining bright as Diamond
Anointed eyes like guiding star
Be not distracted by form
For this body flesh is dust
Yet to it or others do no harm
Upon God we wait and trust
Reflecting God’s love and light
Find purpose and calling in life
The Beauty Of Baseball Poetry Contest
Matt Caliri
A supposedly wide-open, empty street
A rubber ball, a plastic bat, and a real game.
Kids playing to the baseball beat
The diamond asphalt is just the same.
Lines are drawn, and teams are picked.
The pickup games are for bragging rights
Where emotions are high, and egos are nicked.
Some kids haven't reached their grown heights.
The bigger ones hit the longer ball
The little tots hit short liners that hit parked cars.
Homers hit homers over the wall
A neighbor’s house is seeing stars.
Foul balls find a garden bed
Where a stampede of kids thrashes the roses.
A homeowner is cussing and seeing red.
Today's game comes to an end and forecloses.
Tomorrow’s stars have a dream
To play on the big stage.
Where it all started with the pickup teams
On the streets and to the homeowner’s rage.
Baseball is America’s pastime.
Hot dogs, sunflower seeds, and lemonade fill the plate.
There is a passion and a youthful chime
And these kids arrived early and don’t want to be late.
Bare footsteps align
with a solid path
newly taken
Shadows of the past
are now bereft
In stillness, she allows
for her spirit to rise
to new heights;
her old pain
can no longer be felt
Envious naysayers
dulled senseless with
envy and spite
lower themselves
to permanent depths
Crab claws can't reach
Illspoken soured voices
exit the garden of the mind
For in sacred isolation
alchemy makes diamonds.
A child wishing upon the nightly stars.
What a bright star way over there,
another one twinkling just like a diamond.
I want all of them to hold,
one by one I make my bracelet.
What a bracelet of stars to behold.

Celebrating the evolution over time for a 60th Birthday or Anniversary

Space goes on as far as one can see,
dotted with diamond stars and planets.
Space exploration have been going on,
for over the last fifty years.
Earthlings have been trying to find,
life, little green men, knowledge in the cosmos.

It is now time for the universe to hear,
hear about our story here on Earth.
Earth is a planet that is not perfect,
yet a great place to live.
Many wonderful climates to choose from,
with deep blue water to sail or swim in.
A land with tall reaching mountains,
to the vast deserts of hot sand.
Our amazing food is different in each country,
sample many to find the ones you like best.
Then wash it down with one of our many drinks,
from coffee to tea to beer to fresh juice or milk.
Now that your tummy is full,
find a shady beach spot for a nap.
If you decide to go back home,
go in peace from earth to your planet.
Here is to September 5, 2027,
the 50th anniversary of the Golden Record launch.
