Hope Of A Diamond

Once eyes like a Colored Diamond
Now nothing but a mere Stone.
She wanted to Run away
Not from Life
But from Present.

Her thoughts Becoming deeper than Galaxy
Hiding an Ocean behind her eyes.
She Prayed everyday
Not for a Miracle
But for a Change

Her forced charm
Looking not so dim.
She cries, she smiles
She pauses, she grinds
But the silence grows

She wants to Shine
Not for herself
But for the Lost ones like her,
Who are surrounded but lost,
Appear complete, but deep inside incomplete.

Too tired to carry the drench
She realized she was the Change
And started her Journey again
This time with a
Beautiful Heart like a Colored Diamond.

Uniform

Ambition was cinched to our wrists
Responsibility was tightened to our throats
Discipline was buckled at the waist.
Love was tucked in close to the chest.

Anger was draped across our shoulders
Control was zipped into our steps.
Insecurity was wrapped around the feet.
Status was hammered into soles.

Manhood is a tightrope
balancing swagger and surrender.
Locker room bravado and
mirror-shadowed splendor.
Masculinity is a breastplate
earned in boardrooms or squad cars.
burnished by restraint and dented by doubt.

We are defined by either
Diamond cufflinks or steel handcuffs
Never in the calluses of bare hands.

               Long, slender
      Tapping, painting, holding
Creating tiny canvases for my niece
      Pinking, twinkling, glittering
             Tiny, cherished

in its rough state
clear, transparent, and hard
gifted jeweler brings out best
now through his hands it reflects sparkling light
so are we like a rough diamond

Your beauty isn't just external,
Like a diamond, it shines eternal.

Premium Member Honoring Black Diamond

Black Diamond lived in New York City’s Central Park Zoo
From 1893 to 1915, and he was popular too.
This bison was honored by the US buffalo nickel which looked like him.
His caretakers gave Black Diamond all kinds of treats, on a whim.

Premium Member Diamond Dreams

Tulips of morning
just waked from amaranth dreams,
meet glittering sun.
Dogwood rose opens redly
Pink dawn's jewel shines steady.

Beautiful flowers
respond to warmth's mute caress!
They're a dream come true
in varicolored versions
'ere dusk dreams, in beds again!

Celestial diamond

                                         Star
                                       Shines
                                     So bright,
                                Sparkling clean
                            In the dark night sky
It peeks out behind a carpet of dark clouds
Like a cosmic jewel, twinkling bright in the sun
With its particles sprinkled across the sky.
               Like thousands of gleaming pupils,
That gleam like pearls on a necklace:
            Celestial diamonds aglow like fireflies
          Heaven's joy hope beacons
        Sent from God, just
      To us

Premium Member If I Could I Would Fetch You The Moon

Love takes one's breath away,
making the heart flutter like a butterfly.
I have given you the diamond stars,
from above in the nightly sky.
If only I could fetch the moon,
I would give it to you in a huge spoon.

Diamond Dreams
Lyric
[]
One tear falls in a moment of days gone by reminiscing all the memories of you by my side
Of all the hope and glory subdued with a velvet tie
Hoping you would come back my way to give it another try
Of all the passion felt and all the loving nights
Can we try just one more time to rise in the morning light

Softy retracing each silken lines as I lie by your side
Reading all the poetic words you penned when we were twenty-five
Many moons have passed twenty two years to be exact
And I'm leaving tonight to search for you through the soft city lights

It has always been and it always will be
A passionate loving novel
Written for just you and me

Premium Member Tale of Diamond Lil

Bill and Gil met a new gal, Diamond Lil
In a sassy saloon named Petey’s Swill
She was dressed with a dolly lady’s skill
Ruffled as a male peacock with a trill

Diamond Lil educated naïve Bill and innocent Gill
Of this debauchery world they had each known zill
Her step-by-step lessons were a gigantic thrill
She taught them with the precision of a sergeant’s drill

Many of her life lessons were taught on Farmer’s Hill
Like how to make corn whiskey in a bootlegger’s still
She also taught them some interesting things at the old saw mill
They knew now how to determine if a fabric was satin or twill

Bill and Gill never got over their education with Diamond Lil
One of their most deranged jealous neighbors was Jenny Jill
Jenny tried to kill Diamond Lil with a giant unknown pill
Thus, Lil ran off with a dastardly gentleman named Mr. Bill.
Taking with her two other men she had met at Petey’s Swill
