On this day we rise and see,
From a sky deck high and free.
The world united, in one common fight,
Casting darkness back to light.

Diabetes, you challenge us all,
Yet strength within us will never fall.
From city heights to quiet towns,
Hope and courage know no bounds.

We hold the sky, we lift our dreams,
Past the pricks and silent screams.

Diabetes in Golden Years

In twilight’s golden years they stand, The elderly, a resilient band, But diabetes weaves its silent thread, Affecting lives where it threads.

Sugar’s dance in blood a subtle strife, Stealing sweetness from their life, Their body weary, yet heart so strong, They fight each day, all life long.

Their limbs once spry, now move with care, As

The discovery of insulin- a lease of life for people with Type 1 diabetes

Was it Banting and Best,
Collip and McLeod’s feat ?
Whose efforts bore fruits,
And  ‘Insulin’ was discovered.
Or was it the Compassionate Creator.
Who really Sorted out the pancreatic mystery,
And Granted man the sense,
To perfect the pancreatic extract, 
That was injected to people with diabetes,

My Adult On-Set Type 11 Diabetes Point System
