It is to Be

It is to be,
The path that my mother took,
The guiding hand that left her at a tender age,
The foster home that taught her about rage,
The lessons she learned as she turned the pages of each day,
The education she acquired made her diligent, dexterous, and dutiful.

It is to be,
The man my mother met on her journey,
The man she deeply fell in love with,
The man who made her smile in the morning light,
The man who stood by her through the darkest nights,
The man who showed her both the old and new ways.

It is to be,
The tempest that interrupted my family's voyage,
The turbulence that pulled my parents apart,
The stranger who made my mother dwindle,
The mystery she called a riddle.

It is to be,
The end of an era,
The shards and fragments of broken bonds,
The unsent letters my mother wrote,
The songs she sang during her dark days,
Songs of hope and praise.

It is to be,
The man I have become,
The enigma that dwells in my chamber,
The mystery I sometimes confront,
The memories that haunt me,
The untold encounters that have made me bold.

Premium MemberSimply Words

When words have fled there's a space
That echoes with nothing deemed stellar
No single idea to embrace
Profundity gone, it seems forever.

When chaos of life has intruded
Thoughts tangled into scrambled web
Creativity lost as mind's eye brooded
Blank page ignites emotions, reason fled.

Ocean waves ebb and flow with ease
Tormented poet desires tranquil pen
Dexterous words make readers believe
Unfeigned verse is legacy for men.

A Stranger's Quest

Placed at the foot of the mountain
Thunderclaps and lightnings
Treasures buried in the zenith
A journey no man doth dare

One foot forwards, three feet back
Raging winds and biting frost
Coated in the smut of the snowy beasts
Bathed in the blood of conquests lost

Still he places each step forward
Relentless. Tenacious. Dexterous
Foot planted like the oak tree
Majestic in the dust of the enemy

With each step, he moves forward
Balls like steel, he refuses to yield
Drained of the blood of his humanity
Filled instead, with the guts of a billion men.

Still he moves. Each step forward.
Thunders like the neighs of a million horses
Cut with the edges of jagged winds
Covered in an avalanche of ice.

Yet he moves. Courageously.
Crawling like the desperate viper
Each step now like a plea to the heavens
Groans like a woman in labour

But he moves nevertheless
A shock to the distant stars
Making the sun shine in cheer
And the sky to dance in tears

Till he reaches the top.
One hand placed on the treasure.
A man, unknown, reaches the zenith.
Relentless. Tenacious. Victorious.

Premium MemberDexterous drama duck

She is a dexterous drama duck
every little thing causes a squawk
one tiny pimple ruins her week
scratch on her knee can make her freak

social media bullying puts her in bed
worst scenarios playing in her head
we avoid her down by meadow’s mallard pond
negative excitement is what she focuses on.

Cutting the Deck

Star filled sky
Alive, energy, vibrating night
Enriching sound of the waves
Feeling the wind on a voyage to another world
Listening to the hottest DJs spinning
Top dynamics of music
I strolled up to deck for a little dancing
Hoping for a little love
Showing off dexterous, super-spreader swing moves
Picking a few Dark and Stormy at the bar
Happy with the harmony
Feeling the rhythm like prince charming
Wanting to accommodate one
Connect on the dance floor
Midst a group of attractive,
Very desirable, crazy ladies
Like a beast killing the tempo moves
Ladies dissipated
Disappointed
          Ignored
Out of breath with sweat streaming down my face
Nimble-fingered, clumsy
          Knocked out
Flew over the deck rail into the cold
Woke up on a tropical island
Perplexed, no memory decided to stay

Premium MemberMy Feeling About Drag Queens

drag queens are exhilarating, exciting, expressive, enthusiastic
Their dexterous delightful minds discern society’s truths
There is an opulent mindset that allows extemporaneous joking
They are great at improvisation, their quips often impromptu.

They live in a world I can barely understand, yet I want to.
There is an honesty about them that makes them brilliant.
Their shows are effortless, smooth, freeing, revitalizing.
fuddy-duddy stuffed shirts will probably miss their shows.

I want to see them all, I love their wisecracks and their jokes.
adore their pretty dresses, high heeled shoes and glitzy makeup.
They are glamorous, gleaming, and gratifyingly glitzy.
They are fearless, living their truth, dazzling the rest of us.

Poetry in motion,
when Messi is at play,
combines both rhythm and speed,
leads us to realise,
he’s a different breed.

Poetry in motion,
is when Vishy plays blitz
and the chess pieces dance
to his every command;
opponent has no chance.

Poetry in motion,
when Novak’s in the mood,
dexterous and agile;
he wins the tennis match
and the spectators smile.

Poetry in motion,
during a cricket match,
when Virat takes the bat,
the runs come quick and fast;
his team wins and that’s that.

Parallels and Platforms

"Parallels and Platforms"

diving into the void
our hearts sound like
deep bluebells sonar driven

ringing in a new universe
humming lips caress throats
where words are born to erupt

but do not speak,
you can hear feelings
new bodies singing

fever pitch

dimensions spreading
ripples as in a calm ocean
parallels bend and meet

flexing into the smooth
spontaneous Dionysiac curves
in the out of time

warm worlds evolve

they join in luscious flexing
pulses rushing in frames
burning up naked as the Sun

massaging now tactile light
what once was deepest blues
into searing ultraviolet view

co-joined like minds
the formless fit tight
the luminous become one

exploding Supernova

platforms speak
dancing in each
other’s eyes

mirrors undress
the senseless,
sensing the fullness

of what was once flesh
now crystalline knowing
the sensual twist

intuitively
dexterous phantoms
eventually kiss

when we meet
intertwined
in the out of time

Playing the Game of Poker

PLAYING THE GAME Of POKER

At the table,
the dealer begins the game,
passing out set number of cards,
players ready to exhibit mental acuity.

A full house of masterminds,
getting familiar with the cards,
playing different variations of the game.
everyone with a target.

We fold, check, call or raise,
strategizing on how to topple the other,
straight, stud, draw or community,
mostly, same rule applies.

The game of poker,
quite similar to life.
simple,yet complex!
requires a lot of maths and psychology.

It's a bet, full of trials and errors.
Some rely on their tenacity and courage,
their adroitness and tactics,
for maximum result.

Some compromise it all,
yet, no aroma of fresh fruits.
some run out of chips, even before they get a chance to play.

We all are players,
playing the mean game of poker,
round the clock,
with dexterous manoeuvre.

The difference is,
some have mastered the soft skills,
and have become connoisseurs of the game.
while some are still baking in the oven.

In this game of life,
sometimes we win,
sometimes we lose.
we all bet,we all play.

Premium MemberMy Guitar

Oh! Guitar, what sweet music flows from you!
How your melodic strains, my mind subdue
With the touch of my dexterous fingers
Melody streams, my spirit it triggers

Each chord in thee is fastened very tight
If one's loose, the notes will not be aright
With thy melody, my heart goes upbeat
Sinking too deep, it quickens my heartbeat

As I listen to thy finely tuned sounds
To what great heights, my weary soul rebounds
How you keep me long suspended in time
Making me afloat in halcyon rhyme

Celestial strains, pour in to drown my blue
Oh! Guitar, what sweet music flows from you!

Her poems are simple, their rhythm is grand,
out of bland ordinary they all stand.
Dexterous in neat word art,
her muse unfurls buds of heart,
flowers bloom in verses of Heidi Sands.

Premium MemberRaccoon

You've heard of me.
You've seen me around.
I nest in cabins, garages, sheds,
Trailer parks, abandoned buildings,
Even on your attic.
I'm not as cuddly as I look,
So don't come near me,
Or dare try to pet me;
You'll get a nasty bite on your finger!
Yes, I'm quite temperamental
And ferocious.
I'm a pest and a half
Who have invaded
almost every habitat you can imagine.
I'm a havoc-wreaker
Who does damage to gardens,
Crops and poultry;
I even knock over trash cans
while scavenging for food.
I hunt both on land and in water,
Munching on insects, fruits, nuts,
Mice, fish, frogs, turtles, etc.
I have gray fur, a ringed tail,
Black stripes on my face,
Long dexterous fingers
That can twist knobs and open doors.
I'm solitary and nocturnal.
I'm a Raccoon.

Armageddon

Age's bloodiest showdown looms,
Or such it seems by its lurid form;
Spirit's sharpest arrows must fly
Swifter than is their agile-witted norm.

Now Armageddon's most savage sword
Cruelest aim of softest landings takes,
Though target's dexterous fightback
Its most foolproof arsenals stakes.

Thus unfolds time's deadliest flare
Under high heaven's beneficences;
Watching on with an eye dimly fair,
Umpiring blows with arcane mien.

And though its yet baffling to tell
What dismal odds in virtue's favor stand,
Eons of war-waging jurisprudence repel
Smiling wins for Gaol's tempestuous fates.

Premium MemberCarousel of Light

Out there in the gadgetry of space lies truth unspoken
as a robonaut delivers with precision dexterous air tasks
we dreamers await spacefaring races by God's millennium
and explore the starlit mysteries of the great beyond

With futuristic discoveries will scientists find evidence
of alien civilizations or will they find just a Universal void
from the footage of a comet to journeys towards the Sun
we never tire of searching out galaxies and their mysteries

Up there in the great unknown space stations ready for dock
it is a privileged place of research surrounded by innovation
studies of movements and relative positions of celestial objects
tell us so much about the inner mechanisms, of outer space

If God is eternal then space is a sky light carousel, a perpetual room
of wonder, that carries particles of light dispersed across the moon.
