I love the pitter-patter of the rain upon the glass
The soft rhythm creates memories that only dreams surpass
Cosy fireside moments while the weather beats her tune
Raptured with the thought of us being together soon
I love the sunset clouds as they warm the bluest moon
Memories of your caress as we lay on that golden sand dune
The sea, she distant murmurs, like a shell against my ear
Your tender caress takes our feelings to a new frontier
If there’s a world outside this place, my heart cannot perceive

There are no blooms to snuggle in the twilight
No promise that it will ever reach the zenith.
Either the sky is clear or a cyclone is brewing
Unpredictable, akin to the whims of fate.
Life sheds its brimful aura and amorphous shells
No longer a folk-waltzing performance,
But an aphonic and agrestal appendices
Shifts sustain, the skin splits and slides,
Revealing the vulnerability beneath,
A skin split that resonates in the heart
Where forlornness resides, tearing at the seams
In this ever-changing world, seasons shift.
Some souls only shine once a year.
Or twice, if they're lucky, reaching even higher.
When you least expect it, or in the spring,
They decry what bestows them delight,
Appreciating the winding road of life,
Finding beauty in the midst of anguish
There are no blooms to snuggle in the twilight.
Little white paws, running thru my halls,
opening all the closets, chasing red balls..
Little white feet on the window sill,
studying the birds as they hop and trill.
Hoping to go out, zero in for a kill,
devour a little birdie and leave it's bill..
Little white feet avoiding the puddles,
hates to get wet, prefers warmth and cuddles..
Little white feet awaiting their massage,
likes the motorized tool, not my effleurage..
Little white feet perched for a treat,
awaiting some temptations or marshmallow so sweet.
Little cat feet now groomed and neat,
at rest in my lap and quietly asleep.
Kindness and Cuddles are a power couple
Both exude charisma and vavoom
Together hand in hand
They light up any room
Always the life of the party
Folks are naturally drawn
To their undeniable magnetism
Both of brains and brawn
A good hearted affectionate duo
That give and then give some more

Reaching

With hugs
Those pains

But one hug
Eludes me
Can't remember

I pick up
One of four
For a hug
A ritual
In love
Faded
Without
Within
Fanfare or acknowledgement
A transition
Without notice

A reason to recall
That which
I cannot recall
Until now

Years later

To late
Perhaps I was half asleep.
I always felt drowsy at night.
I sensed her warm body snuggling near me.
She put her head on my shoulders.
Her cuddles sent me to seventh heaven.
I only hoped she did not mind
The stubble on my unshaven face.
Still I was elated when as I felt
Her smooth downy face next to mine.
How fragrant was her exquisite hair,
I guessed it resembled a Soleil Neige,
An elegant and mesmerising perfume.
I took a deep breath, indulging
In its fruity nectar…so I opened my eyes.
Only to see an empty bed and a lumpy pillow.
Was here
Was there
Was nowhere...
She vanished overnight
My darling Mom
Where had she gone
Watching at window
From dusk till dawn
Each day the door would open
With food and drink galore
But all I wanted
Through that door
Was Mom
Now gone forevermore
No cuddles
No snuggles
Just a blanket
On the floor
Oh how I longed
To hear her voice
To feel her touch
I would rejoice
Then one fine day
I heard a sound
Footsteps struggling
On the ground
Was that her voice
Time to rejoice
'twas Panagiota
I ne'er forgot her
Her footsteps slower
Would always know her
Her smile so sweet
With my favorite treat
Mom's home at last
Life's now complete...

He's curled up beside me
as cute as cute can be
but somehow he has got his claws
pressed firmly into my knee.
I think its just an ownership thing,
so I can't get away.
If he holds me in my place
I have no choice but to stay.
He looks so sweet and peaceful,
as long as I stay still
but I know I shouldn't move my leg
in case he decides to kill.
