Convertibles Poems | Examples

Breathe Deep

BREATHE DEEP
Hugging the earth
With you since birth
Though invisible
Much is possible

Fun times in party balloons
Less often in hot air balloons
Kites built and challenged to fly
Planes and blimps enjoy the sky

Games played with inflated balls
Windmills make energy, not squalls
Top-down convertibles make hair stray
Clouds and fog begin the day

Sail boats glide on the waves
Fragrances travel, then saved
Forgive a hurricane or tornado
Enjoy adventure on the go

Now show that you care
And feel the love in the air

Never Wednesday

Worship not your turtles on Tuesday
Driving a convertible in traffic is inadvisable
Places you at risk, in peril of bird droppings
Never yawn with mouth open and head up
Yawning is sacrilegious with seat belts off

If you have daughters, don't!
They are not turtles and this is not Vegas
If you have sons, feed them peanuts
They will not become elephants all of a sudden
But they are cheaper than you think
And much cheaper than pink

If you play cards on Thursday be warned
Turtles don't drink or smoke or gamble
Too many decks makes them sleepy
Don't worry about convertibles
Turtles drive trucks but not well
Never on Doomsday or Wednesday
That would be asking too much
They have trouble with the clutch

Doomsdays come around once in a lifetime
Never on Wednesday because that is canasta night
Beer and pretzels are free
(Bring your own pretzels and beer)
Leave your turtles at home
Worship them not on Tuesday
Canasta should never be trifled with
Bring two decks for security

Premium MemberWind In My Toes

As the mercury starts to levitate,
and May hunts down chill residues,

warmed breezes rummage the ground
for ten sun-worshippers
cruising in two dusty,
floppy convertibles.

Blondes

I know it must be summer time
Because of all the blondes I see
They seem to be just everywhere
When yesterday they were not there
Some how just like convertibles
Only in summer are they around
Now I see them everywhere
In every color there is to see
Blues and greens and always reds
All the tints of blond there can be

Roaming

Roaming
that thick soup
of a green countryside,
the black eyed Susans
were our only witness,
silent as corpses,
unaware that truancy was our creed as we
drove to buy beer in souped up
shiny chevy convertibles
as we listened to Motown and sang
to those tunes when we crossed the state line,
lunching in Manhattan,
home by dark,
knowing we'de be caught red handed by the principle,
our suspension notices written up in eloquent script,
yet still.....
it was worth it,
to roam as free as that April New Jersey wind,
new and bratty.

Spring Haiku Collection

Thin ice fades away
Worms begin to stir beneath
Sprouted grass tickles ant’s toes

~

Fingerprints on glass
A blue jays nest on my eve
Babies sing its spring

~

Muck squash rubber boots
Rain sprinkles from heaven’s gate
Rainbows glow full bloom

~

Scent of white violets
Innocence blooms, babies smile
Sand grows in socks and shoes

~

Ah yes summer’s sun
Convertibles screech down roads
Trees awake leafless

Premium MemberAntique Knights

A summer Saturday night brings them all out grates shining
spit polished chrome, driven by bald men with pates shining.

Candy apple red antique corvettes with white wall tires
soft topped convertibles from Isadora Duncan's estate shining.

Well preserved women with beehive hair in leather bucket seats
go out for a ride with their Romeo's down the interstate shining.

Elvis dreamed of bee bop queens escorted round the scene
down, down town in La La land on the silver screen shining.

So put on your pedal pushers, grab a bottled Coke Classic
tie a scarf in your ponytail and dress like jail bait shining.

Cause it Saturday night at the antique car show and "YO!
and I wanta conjugate on that bumper's silver plate shining.

Last Light, With Her By the Library

Inside fleshy walls, wallowing in youth,
lava coarses corrosive through peeled licorice
onward, fleeing the thundering stone
vacillating at the center of a man slugging
elderberry wine, to become both numb and Dionysus.
Yellow convertibles park on brown-banged boulevards
obstructing the ravishing, glacial blue hands. They stretch
unassuming, but firmly grab my empty arms.

Mannequin pale, those twin starved orphans,
offered the chance to grow into men, to feel
rushing gales of breath, trembling limbs of love!
Goodness, grace incarnate in a smile. Blue jeaned
angel, the deliverance of a self-loathing leper
naked in the shadows of his own shortcomings.

Ravaged, I stand stoic; an amorous, wounded statue
on call before her, a tragic hero in vain,
battered in body, in spirit, in moonstruck mind,
ill with the drawing force of four hoarse
scotch-swigging demons, poisonous jealousy
of a starry eyed Italian gondola captain. Who am longing I but
Nobody, wishing for a crack to melt into, or
a shatterproof heart.

Premium MemberPeople With Extra Long Necks

Now here's a funny sight, my friends
People with extra long necks
Much like giraffes you see at the zoo
A really strange sight, by heck

They drive convertibles for obvious reasons
It sure ain't so great in the snow
Their houses are rather tall and skinny
How they sleep at night, heaven knows

There's advantages to having an extra long neck
Especially at a sporting event
Till the people behind start throwing things
Which there's gotta be a way to prevent

There's a pill that's just come on the market
To help shrink it down to size
But the side effects can be disastrous
It increases your bum and your thighs

Now you can fit into a normal size car
But you take up the whole front seat
That's sure better than a giraffe like neck
That's ridiculous, for the love of pete!

Lean Over Blue Waters

This summer's evening still echoes
with the distinguishable city' noises:
the screams of adolescents,
the cranking of cars and motor-bikes
the loud rotating blades of helicopters,
and the blasting music
from luxurious convertibles
that unawarely tranfix...

We can get away
from this madness,
and find a silent,
infrequent place
where nothing has to be hushed;
where the firmament
emanates a perfect peace
to submerge us by awe
as we coalesce
in a lascivious wish...

We can return to be innocent,
and lean over blue waters
to cover the still lake
with beautiful,velvety roses
as the gondolier enthralls us
with his poignant vocals...

The quite geese float
in the aromatic lake of flowers,
inperplexed by our presence
as we lean over blue waters,
so intoxicated by the balsamy air,
to invoke and inflame
an incessant desire
and incur no regrettable fault...
