“The sky in changing shades enfolds many mysteries of the universe, the shifting clouds, the sun, moon, stars and other heavenly bodies. Its vastness is like the vastness of human mind, shape shifting every now and then, but capable of changing the amorphous into fascinating shapes.” ~ By Poet

In the noon sky, wade the truant clouds.
With the sweep of wind, how they form,
Into configurations of varied shape and size!
Giants, mountains and bundles of fluffy wool
To be woven into yet a hundred patterns.

Premium Memberhistory of legos

legos were invented ninety-two years ago
in 1933
their name came from two Danish words
leg godt
meaning “plays well”
six lego bricks can be made into 915, 000, 000 configurations
I have no idea how research knows this
I imagine this was calculated by a computer
Lego makes more mini tires a year than
Goodyear makes automobile tires
In my family Legos were not a hit until the 1990’s.
I had no idea they were invented in 1933

I saw truant clouds wading through late evening sky.
With sunset, they got dyed in varying shades,
Forming into configurations of differing shape and size!
Giants, mountains and raw bundles of fluffy wool,
To be woven into yet a hundred patterns.

Twilight shadows slowly began to fall,
Like gauzy gossamer webs here and there
Night came stepping down from the heights.
I heard the wind singing through the leaves.
Their sweet cadence lifted my moods.

From the forest, a nightingale echoed a happy note.
Crickets in chorus chanted in sonorous tones.
As I looked on, from creamy cotton clouds,
Full moon emerged like a seductive temptress.
What a majestic sight of incomparable beauty!

Stars were seen as silver sequences stitched on,
An unfurling cerulean veil of chiffon silk.
I felt so weightless, being lifted to great heights.
As I lost myself in the irresistible charm of the night,
A thousand butterflies of joy danced within me.

sailing ships over blue aquamarine
with the sweep of wind, they split and form

Premium MemberImmortality

immortality
wide-spread human delusion
short lived confusion
denies the fragility
of living on this planet

most plain simple words
will have much longer life spans
than any human
focusing on the person
blurs the image of mankind

seven thousand years
of known human history
but a minute glitch
within millions of eons
contained in this existence

feeling immortal
misinterprets eternal
limits perspective
evolution's main purpose
better configurations

Brother & Sister Groninger

3/26/01

It wasn't,
by mere happenstance we met.
Or by odd chance,
our friendship grew.
But for selfish reasons did we huddle
as close as we dared get.
Gleaning pearls of wisdom
from the two.

We saw in them,
those things we cherished most;
And always with each calling
were made to feel at ease.
Not beheld as wayfarers,
nor they, as hostess and host;
Then always upon our exit, their hug,
her buss upon the cheek and "come again please".

If insignificant things were done,
oft as a task, they'd see.
Rarely, if ever, realizing,
that their giving was much more.
Adult education per se,
without books, tuition, or exams, but free.
From our two smiling friends,
each time our knuckles found their door.

Now alongside, again, they lie,
'mongst configurations of chiseled stone.
Spirits, since ushered to their reward,
as it will be for all one day.
But from their lives, "Snow Angels" were left,
not for family alone.
For God saw that we had need of these tracks,
as memories, to assist us in our way.

               Contemplating,
               contemplating....
               Sounds so very
               like me!
               Trying to add up
               life's wondrous
               configurations?
               In my minuscule,
               mental nation!
               After many decades,
               my mind is so very
               tired.
               Still won't get it...
               till a stamp on my
               head that reads,
               "Expired!"

Premium MemberWater Is Life

water is part of my very existence
it is within me and all around me in different configurations
in the rainwater that drips and flows upon my windows
drizzle in the night and my tears that fall forming teardrops

in puddles after a summer storm

the dew on my flowers of morning dripping in the sun
in different drinking glasses, my bathtub, my saliva,
an ice cube melting growing smaller

a spill, a spatter, a sprinkle, a dribble

the lakes, rivers, streams, oceans and seas
pools and fountains and waterfalls, fish tanks and fish ponds
the great northern glaciers shifting and moaning
melting and flooding the ocean changing the world's architecture

a drop in the ocean spreading and spreading
waves crashing on a shore endlessly
and foam gathering, misty

snow falling in intricate snowflake patterns
the contour of ice icicles
frost freezing on my windows in filigree shapes
a snowman melting in spring

Some colleagues found him a tad frivolous
  While others thought him over-fastidious
The Dean advised him to start off assiduous
Though I.T. pooh-poohed it all as ridiculous...

So the new instructor shifted and twisted
  himself into the oddest-looking pretzel-like
pedagogical configurations, hoping to please everyone
but -- you guessed it -- he pleased no one, OF COURSE!
not his colleagues, not the Dean, not I. T. …

Yet his students found him competent, considerate, kind
and they certainly didn't seem at all to mind that
an 'ideal combination of qualities' he never did seem to quite find ---

the rarest of balancing acts, about which certain
colleagues, the Dean, and I.T. will forever whine
