yet though the season
soon changing delight closings
in the air yet hot
temperature new day
sprouts hints of fall autumns hues
soon dons fall season

wings of sorrow
a monarch cries
screams of a sparrow
a heart ripped and shredded
she hates her meds
she hates her meds
dusty thoughts
saturated and dunked
her soul screams
all play is gone
she hates her life
she hates her life
inward closings
trusting no one
she is completely alone
sorrow swallows her up
she hates herself
she hates herself
Through Covid-19, school closings and quarantines
Online learning, Google Hangouts, Shelter in place
Missing our students and friends from our work place.
Wondering what will happen next- It’s all so complex.
Tears cried, Lives lost, Birthday drive bys, Virtual Celebrations,
Mask, Gloves bringing heightened considerations
Of Frontline workers,
Lives changed, schedules rearranged,
Social distancing, online worshipping, parking lot services
Six feet apart, air hugs,
Glasses fogged, Hours online logged,
Jobs lost, restaurants closing, Door Dashes, people clashing
Over -“Is it too much –or- Are we doing enough---to stop the spread?
Families staying, at home, praying, people healed, emotions real, movies watched,
Games played, memories made
Through thick and thin from the beginning to the end
For Christ Followers,
Our Faith, our trust, our belief in God
Does NOT Bend!!!
Unfailing, Unwavering, Unshakeable Faith
Fairies still hover around your house
Years of great pain seems to never take away your smile
We're two little souls fighting our way far from the sword
Like soldiers we must look onto our steps and leave no trace
It's better in hiding that in death for we have something to loose in it
Take away everything you gave to this world for it doesn't deserve our love
We are on the edge of extinction but the closings are bold and no fear is found
Let us now gather our remaining strengths and tear the walls to our fortuitous goals
The sun is shining bright, but the world is dark
This pandemic has swept the world and every park
I saw it coming a couple months ago
But the preparations were lacking, and scared me so
Now, some places have come a horror show
No masks, lack of supplies, as all the cases flow
Into hospitals, overloading them day to day
I am almost speechless, trying to find words to say
It's so overwhelming to see the widespread impact
In so many areas, so many closings are a fact
We are fighting for our lives, trying to stay inside
I'm looking in my yard, even the animals seem to hide
All I can do is pray with my heart, as it breaks
Wishing I could do more, as I'm doing what it takes...
- To survive. -

This dreary day, cold winter brings a storm;
the snowflakes densely falling, fine and fast,
with frenzied pace and not a single pause.
Most all who could, stayed home to take a pause.
Closings declared, this day's ruled by the storm,
and time slows down while snow is falling fast.
The snow fluffs its white blanket full and fast,
while I sit by my window as I pause-
and catch my breath behind this frantic storm.
Today's storm, driving fast, grants time to pause.
I won't say goodbye, it's a word that implies, something now is ending,
And I'm too full of endings, to want that extra load.
Instead, I'll think evening has come, a night must now pass.
Yet with the stars just like our sun to show us all the way,
Across the spans of darkest nights, there lies a brighter day.
I won't say farewell, it is one of those words, that means a scene is closing,
And I'm too full of closings to want that extra load.
Instead, I'll think a pause must be in life's great symphony.
Our Maestro turns your page and mine, tuning some strings in need,
That each may play their greatest part, as onward now He leads.
I won't say godspeed, again it's a word, that means one is parting,
And I'm too full of partings to want that extra load.
Instead I'll think the time has come to trust in God's great care.
Our years are filled with anxious prayers,yet He is always near,
Perhaps these moments must all be to teach us faith not fear.
From an old wooden shack
Beside a long dusty road
In the county ten miles from town
Their bare feet did stroll
In the thirties eating dust
Following the slogan California or bust
As jobs around here were nil, if found
Many an old automobile
With those slick and worn wheels
Heading west in search of that gold
As they bypassed the New Deal
Looking for a job and a new start
With blistered feet and bleeding hearts
Near starvation and shivering from the cold
No jobs only heartaches
And no vagrants wanted here
Lord, they’d heard all these words before
As now hunger was their fear
From the dustbowl of the thirties
To the California coast
Finding only hatred and closings of the door
An elevator;
takes you up and down
frequently;day and night;
either to heaven; or to hell;
It depends how you behave;
Sometimes upward;
other times downward;
or even to underground !
It looks like God’s own iron hands;
who orders to be carried
either up or down;
Down to the hell; up to heaven;
The Lord’s chariot; neither pulled
by a horse nor by any wheel;

A elevator takes you up to heaven;
Sometimes down to your own hell!
Also it looks like the gallows;
or a hanging tree;
or a bore-well ;
no water; no air;
like a devil's fort in dark;
once you be in his custody;
No openings; No closings;
Neither a start nor an end;
a lifeless life;
within a life !

A sunrise kisses morning's dew
and makes the flowers sing
butterflies are formed anew
stately on their wing
highlights of a new day
begin in nature's flock
of openings and closings - the universe's clock
happiness a constant - striving
to retain - knowledge of it's promise
now and then to wane
fly with earthly creatures
with your wingspan open wide
stay in tune with loveliness
it's all you can abide
for all of life's abundance
call forth for the divide
Curtains
Openings and closings
Drawing eyes in when raised
Brings fancy color to the stage
Drapes
Heavens wintry dew
Leaves thoroughfares icier
Forcing school closings.
