Premium MemberReprehensible Sugar

Sweet tea and tongues spill the cream.
Loose lips chew ice cubes and a story,
twisting it slightly to fire up a regime.

Unsettling words come out in a stream
becoming more and more accusatory.
Sweet tea and tongues spill the cream.

Getting jollies while cooking a scheme
they sell something as simple as glory.
Twisting it slightly to fire up a regime.

Reprehensible behavior to redeem?
Nope. It never fits into that category.
Sweet tea and tongues spill the cream.

Add sugar leave out a clear cut theme,
providing clarity is never mandatory.
Twisting it slightly to fire up a regime.

Bored so they want to blow off steam.
All of the dialog? I've taken inventory.
Sweet tea and tongues spill the cream,
twisting it slightly to fire up a regime.

Premium MemberSutures

Lightning sutures me
not leaving a single scar;
My smile starts to glow;

To myself I say,
‘Everything will be alright.’
Such a clear cut sign;

Natural cymbals
back up my internal source;
A shove towards peace;

Rebuilt but still tough,
the Sun’s bright after hard rain;
Sound renegade survivor;

Deep down hope keeps us alive,
right into storms we nosedive.

God Is The Answer
Miracle Man
9/6/2024

I’ve never been one who loved to travel,
and my comfort zone is a bottomless rut.
Sometimes I watch days as they unravel,
seeking my answers, finding none clear-cut.

But for every problem there lies a solution,
I only need to know the answer’s source.
Then wait upon HIM for HIS contribution,
often this necessitates my changing course.

But when all ends well my day’s a success,
for I know whose hands in which I rest.
I’ve a know so salvation, not hope, or guess,
in prayer my shortcomings are addressed.

The dust settles

Kenya changes forever
Not in transition but out of pressure
Built and passed on through the bloodline
Until it sufficed to stiffen a generation’s spine
The gloaters are deflated of their dares
And will never again conceal the affairs
For they tried on us the bait and hook
But now all shall be an open book

But we must endeavor to be civil
Keep our tongues and hands from evil
No rage warrants taunting your elder
No reason rhymes with ousting order
Pay your honor to whom it is due
And in days to come it will be paid you
Strive to sidestep curse and to clinch blessing
In light of all offense most hard pressing

The passage of time will usher you out of youth
Bear with you always righteousness and truth
Guard your hearts with all diligence
Choose your demeanor without negligence
Be honest and clear cut
And let not the land revert to the rut
Place not aside your God in your fights
For it is He who crowns with privilege your rights

A Clear-Cut Line

There used to be a clear-cut line
Between what’s right and wrong.
If someone crossed it, he or she’d
Be caught before too long.

Of course, some bullies, even then,
Caused others to get hurt,
Behavior which put everybody
Else on high alert.

Yet even if they weren’t caught
Or punished, we all knew
Their actions weren’t cool or things
That we would ever do.

But lately now I see or hear of
Bullies everywhere,
Defying former norms in ways
Before, we wouldn’t dare.

So crime is up, decorum down
And harm is being done.
I read the news and feel so sad
Before the day’s begun.

I live in the moment but not positively
Not a sway more like a giant tsunami
Letting the moment completely rob me

Tunnel vision so stubbornly debilitating
A cyclical process which keeps baiting
Against my weak mind it keeps grating

Searching for answers to escape this rut
Fruitless attempts with nothing clear cut
Why is my mind so hopelessly shut?

A one track existence cuts like a knife
Trying to live a so called normal life
Permit myself free of this chronic strife

Premium MemberFalling From the Clouds

When the sky before dawn began to burn
into one flower of a night beyond pearl
petals blossom satin white dressed

Where twilight turns within dreams locked precious
gently placing a whisper blowing softly peace
upon the breathless breeze returning echoes haunt

Whistling clear cut diamond etched it was there born
that the moon smiled delighted as a vision of your love
Entered through salt wrapped sweetly in the cradle held

Unrhymed tersets

Personification of the Elements – 9-1-23
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Elementals
Frigid currents gather stirring
Mists to rain hail in fists of fire and ice
From fractured magma stone eruptions
Crust and fire collide
In melted tornados
In hollows where minerals hitchhike
Into purple ruby hazes
Igneous bursts into fevered conundrums
Where four elementals convene
In cryptic crystals, intoxicated by emerald,
Fused laughing enigmas,
Shedding molten aqua teardrops,
Where fire and fury reside
Imprisoned in liquid stone,
Sparkling matrix thunders,
Compressed grit in animations
Of clear-cut brilliance
The Elementals speak
In captured eternal flames,
Water, stone and breath.
The Great Star of Africa
14-03-2023
Clear cut diamond
530 carats gem
Mined in South Africa
Queen Elizabeth I wonder
How did you feel
Knowing The Great Star Of Africa was never yours
Did you think you would just bond
With it during your term
Or we would just forget that it came from Africa
You made a blunder
Which you never had to deal
With the day you accepted it its force
Elevated you even higher wherever you went
As it sparkled on your sceptre and on your head
It made you stand out in any room you find yourself or in any crowd
You spent
Your entire life mesmerized by it but now that you’re dead
And Charles is about to be crowned
King will he have the guts to bring it
Back home where it belongs
Will he finally see it fit
I wait for that day where the wrongs
You made are acknowledged and are made right
The road ahead isn’t easy but it looks bright
Premium MemberMirrors Of You
Glasses of different shapes
Showing out various shapes
Glasses of distinct hues
Blowing out vague and clear-cut views
Mirrors of you in glasses
Like crystals molded in mashes
Furor, dolors, splendor in glasses
Like petals defoliating in sashes
Mirrors of you on hand
Reflections of you unveiled
With all mirrors of the world at hand
Imperfections of you unsealed
Tales of the pasts, stories unmasked
Events of time lapsed, memories basked
Mirrors of you from the past
Blowin' winds in cast
Mirrors of you everlasting
Tokens of you not flabbergasting
Mirrors of you on the rocks
Dusts of you sprinkled in blocks
You are what you are in mirrors
Fictional or not in errors
Mirrors of life are in you
Mirrors of you are all but one in you
Premium MemberWhisper the Wind
first day
writing new letters
in the same old journal
a hymn
the only accompaniment
rain drumming the roof
*****
just in time
it stops raining
first cherry blossoms
spring wind
ten thousand frog croaks
collapse a rain-soaked silence
*****
at the shore
our footprints erased
in the turn of the tide
clouds
here and there
into the horizon
*****
the day's heat lingers
after dusk shuffling the cards
over and over
listening to the morning news
i brush tangles
from my hair
****
outside her window
one hundred evergreens
whisper the wind
his boyhood home
in the tangled garden
only the wind
*****
in the hour before sunset
cricket song again
filling the clear cut
early morning
the bright red barn
subdued by fog
****
winter sun
shines down on
the deserted playground
that snowflake
into the muddy puddle
without a ripple
*****
all the hues
of the rainbow are in it
this winter sunset
new year's day
the amaryllis flower
almost open
*****
Premium MemberShamrock Reflections
Roads rising up from Irish mists in merry jigs
To the flowing tenor song
Sung by the River Boyne born from Tara's Keep
As Patrick's paschal fire
Weaves truth from stones of blarney
And lucky charms of Erin's spring
Cloth hills in kilts of green clovers with four leaves
To the Kerry pipers wail of jigs and tiompan reels
When soft sunbeams kiss fields - the wind petals
Of Killarney's rose in Londonderry Airs
Born in fifes and fiddles in soft brogues
Delighting in tea and scones - the clairsel harp -
When clear cut crystal rays
Embrace green fields clothed in sheep -
Faire mischief  - the wind dance of the Kells -
In bohdran thunder to banish banshee cries
As pirate queens and lost chieftain kings
Sail from emerald shores
Until they meet again beneath the blessings
Of the Celtic cross
In the north winds of the fair aran island.
Premium MemberCrumbling Matrix
What is this strange place we find ourselves in?
Trapped in the open- we are free within.
Somehow the norms we always saw as true-
have been displaced by those we're not used to.
Some rules we follow for our country's sake
no longer held as true, replaced as fake!
A new world order- now our leaders crave-
and yet, within we know we must stay brave.
Free speech, our Bill Of Rights, grants one and all
to speak our minds on all things large and small.
But now, we're punished to express known truth
as those in charge may deem as so uncouth.
The matrix we are asked to now uphold
defies our Constitution's clear-cut mold.
And so we find our ways to follow creeds
our Constitution verifies as needs.
The underground of free-speech websites grant
safe haven for we patriots who can't
express ourselves- the truths we still adhere
without the thought of being silenced-fear.
There, lives support for spreading freedom's spin-
trapped in the open- we are free within.
Divine Victims
The Divine Victims
 There have been so many battlefields mostly forgotten
there was Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan Libya, among the many
battles and millions of dead civilians some were children
Yemen is a graveyard for children killed by Saudi bombs
Yes, the same nation we do business with.
Myanmar, ethnic cleansing is working overtime, but it is
in the east and nothing to bother about.
We have in Europe a clear-cut war, Russian versus Ukraine
Russians are bad lowbrow people, Ukrainians upright
defending their homeland; nothing could be simpler, right?
 Ukraine is the victim of Russian aggression
enough said. Stop thinking, take out your prejudices and call
anyone asking questions traitors, dismiss them with contempt
when the  hit the fan stop looking surprised.
Premium MemberYou Make My Heart Sing
Its all you Spring with your patter sounds of raindrop
and your clear cut droplets, of refresh-petrichor  !
Inside this scented garden you immerse and thrive,
through channels of irrigative pleasures, a  flower grows;
Daffodil waltzes and tulip lip tangos
Violet kisses in a garden ballroom
April birdlings nipping and pecking
Dahlias and fuchsia hollyhocks, rock and rolling round the clock
square dance petunias doing the Scottish fling
a ring around the rosy, takes me to my posies;
Childhood memories of a London bridge,
ablaze with angel dust and innocent white flowers
Its all you spring yes, always you
most beautiful season of all you make my heart sing.
