TO RIVERS OF BABYLON AND ZION SHORES next (Apropos Of A Nona Tanka)

Be aware of this,
We’ve all survived worse:
All ethnicities;
Present day oppressive times
Will also be overcome:-

We’re not a kingdom,
All here are here equally,
And destined to be:-
These oppressive times today,
We must send them on their way:-

These Babylon days,
Shall likewise be cascaded
Into liberty:
We are of Zion sailings;
Liberation shores waiting:-

Come, Babylon child,
Let’s rise up and set our sails;
A new day coming:
We conquering these waters
Of Babylon with justice

Rise up my people,
We have sailing chores to do;
There’s no resting now:-
God’s chartered the way for us;
It’s time to get back on course:-

God’s navigating,
Let us just get to sailing;
The shores are waiting:
Let waves of change froth us on,
With God's wisdom and guidance:-

Remember Zion,
God’s the wind in our sails, too;
Let us sail onwards:
Sailing the ancestral way,
To justice and equity:-

Time to hoist our sails
Into coming winds of change
Sailing likewise waves:
Oppressive Babylon ways,
Daily splashed with Zion froth:-

Whispers in the moonlight 26-10-23

Amidst the tranquil moonlit night, the forest murmured secrets.
The leaves rustled in hushed conversation,
the shadows in exuberance
darting from trunk to trunk,
languishing wherever the moonlight was absent.
Shreds of darkness form an eclectic collection of silhouettes,
dusting the trail with beasts yet to be chartered by man.
The haunting howls of owls enchant the night
sending animals bolting frantically into the undergrowth,
their rough countenances illuminated
by the eerie glow of nocturnal fungi,
ignited by the moon's touch.
In this hostile ambience,
a petal of purity ripens in to fruition.
A figure in a dove white cloak amongst the silvery darkness,
beneath the skies, beneath the trees
dancing and fluttering in a hidden breeze.

Motivation

Let's motivate ourselves with our dreams,
In the fields we’ve chosen, following our streams.

Want to become a doctor like me?
Oh, I aim to save lives, that’s the key.

An engineer? To create something new,
I'll have no regrets, only victories to view.

A chartered accountant? Tough, but funny,
One day, you'll manage all the money.

Remember your dream, hold onto your goal,
Believe you’re the best for your role.

If the world calls you foolish for a fall,
Know it’s the start of your success call.

Wait for the movie of life to unfold,
And soon, they’ll call you wise and bold.

A GIRL AND A DREAM

Like every other young girl
She holds a dream, vast and bright
But born in a land of dark shadows
That hunt and silence dreams.

Tempted by a shinning chance
She seized it with both trembling hands
Unaware of the story on the next page
A huge decision at a tender age.

Chartered, restrained like a fragile glass
Sent to a land with deceiving masks.
Auctioned to the highest bidder
Made a cleaner, a toy for pleasure, a mother.

But she’s just a girl with a dream
A dream that will set her free
From the shadows that dim all light.
Motherhood was never part of the fight.

My Uncle turns 70

Seven decades and going strong
swimming the currents of Life on song,
with ease and elegance he swims
gold medals in galore he wins,
In Physics and Maths he is wired
of its energy and speed, never is he tired,
in the game of chess he will checkmate
yet in Life he is your choicest mate,
he scales the mountains in his hikes
maybe this passion guides his Life and likes,
he teaches and shapes the lives’ of many
making each one of us tutored look shiny,
he is our family’s only Chartered Accountant
we are proud of all his Life’s accomplishment.

Premium MemberWhilst crossing continents

Mid air in flight on eighth of November,
fontanel cracked open and bliss poured in,
a happenstance we’ll always remember,
as magnetism began surging within.

Over front and back, form split into two,
metaphorically speaking of course
and as rapture continued to renew,
we looked on as the plane chartered its course.

Although we’ve experienced this bliss before,
this time around, penetration was deep
and there’s no doubt, heart does seek an encore,
that soul may take a vibrational leap.

For posterity we have penned this verse,
that touch divine has no need to rehearse.

Acceptance

Acceptance
a defining moment in our lives
yet we are unaware
that it’s there
up ahead
waiting
and has been
right from the start
that moment
when we acknowledge
if only to ourselves
that some of our childhood dreams
will not be realised
we will not
go to that place
do that thing
be that person
it is not
defeat or compromise
but rather
a philosophical nod to reality
a reality
that we had no knowledge of
could not conceive of
when
with the exuberance of youth
we chartered our course
set our goals
and dreamed our dreams.

Premium MemberOn the Boat

On the boat
Swaying and tossing
Waves and ripples
Hands together
Hearts together
Land in sight
Yet miles away.
Paddles broken
Yet flapping
No stopping
At slapping
The silvery surface.
A course chartered for rough waters
The boat image
Divine inspiration
Fires the activists
A tedious delve
Into life and teachings
Of the Master.

Billows of prayerful reflection
The journey is on
A sturdy boat
In mixed weather
Knees to knees
Legs to legs
Notoriously unpredictable.
A head-wind approaches
The boat sways
Bales of water
Swept out
Leaky but unsinkable.
Our choice unchanged
To remain on the boat
We take our chances
An inexhaustible mystery of faith

Premium MemberChartered Dreams

The raft of life with chartered dreams,
                        through currents of storms and anguish;
the voyage tears apart our seams,
holding back our fears we languish,
                                      with oars of hope,
                                     struggling to cope.

Whirlpools abduct our course with might.
                               Pools of serenity and peace,
                               a horizon beyond the fight.
                          Where challenges begin to cease;
                                   stronger from strife,
                                      renewed, in life.

Siloes In Business - Buzzwords

"Have your siloes become fortresses?"
Anna Sundt

Pictures are Anna Sundt's product; visual art, the occupation
Her job achieves its mission when customers are living well.

Wheat is one product; farming, the occupation.
Its job succeeds when company siloes are full.

Siloes can be a fortress; old siloes merely provided storage.
New siloes destroy team effort during pandemic lockdowns.

  Siloes hinder
communication observation
participation integration
expectation motivation
  accountability

Autumnal Equinox

Early morning blue sunny skies askew
turn to white grays on piggyback
 once light breezes that blew
gentle in and out the trees comeback
now race wildly out to the sea renewed.

The colors with their brilliant reflective glow
edge toward a harvest moon and celestial equator
rising, falling, lilting in discretionary phase flow
wavering, clinging to the shortening day curators
lingering on equality of night day summer-winter throws.

An ecliptic sun moving in south-easterly directions
marking time and space and revolution years
inching hurriedly a pause for momentary corrections
not holding back or hesitating regardless of joy or tears
on a chartered course through seasonal deflections.

Returning to the calendar of September days
swiftly moving from month to year and decades
throughout wonderment and marvelings of man at play
 history repeated forever on parade
the autumnal equinox marks the years and the days.

Mysogenist

Will you allow these anti-celibate hands to be your remedy?
For they've known years of auctioning pleasure and devouring hearts
I am a chartered Smith
Blessed in the art of forging lies and seasoning of Romance
These are the games I play
If you may, allow these hands to caress you
I have a game in mind
One in which I love to touch and find weakness in a feminine
Getting you in bed is the last trick
I am a dog
Still a k-9 at heart
Waiting for the miss who is to play her cards right and consume this king of hearts
For these are the games I love to play
I will settle for nothing but a gem
One to take out to tongabezi and give her flowers that match the colour of her heart.

Search Within

Onto Charted Areas

close to call
a trip to the mall
on exquisite realm
the church and the harm;

radio level left the rich and proud...

search with dagger from within

a gorilla in one accord
piercing orchestra onto chartered areas,
loaded on the earth drop zoo;
look after their golden nuggets moment

paramount speakers in one accord...

lift high their American way...
tip the closet stretch horizon
bring on the noise
drifted in the horizon built episode;

silence the clown wanting him all the more around
years of cleaning stear their jacket reunion
