Charmaine is shaped like a hollyhock.
She is drawn in a long venue but she is short.
I had no idea she would be this darling,
but she is, and I am thrilled with her.
Thank you, I tell the artist.
She is everything I had imagined and more.
I had not specified colors, and yet,
here they were, two of my favorites.
Orange and pink.
When miserable clouds assemble,
bursting with drops of sorrow,
gusts of torment bring dark tides to your door.
You feel hope is like forgotten pennies,
lost at the bottom of a wishing well.
Arrows of anxiety keep firing
at your muddled mind.
When you feel trapped inside your head,
monsters lurk inside -
take a pace back.
Release each arrow from the bow.
Let all the pain be washed
by rivers from the rain -
as all bruises heal.
The smell of petrichor will inspire you,
your mind an estuary, hydrating on positive drops,
will replace soaring floods of negative emotions -
as glowing sun rays of love warm your face.
Through anything, through anywhere,
through anyone, reach thunder through your storm.
Let bolts of lightning shake the earth -
ground your soul firmly.
Even when there is no light,
an internal flame yearns to rekindle,
like spring petals kissing dawn's air.
Silent One collaboration with Charmaine Chircop
6 November 2020
Many thanks to Charmaine for collaborating with me. Charmaine is a talented poet who regularly posted on Poetry soup, I hope to see her post more often.
Charmaine my love, so wonderful to again be apart of your world
Pretty sure I'm just one of the many that miss your lovely sweet words
If you stay, many will smile
Please stay for awhile
But understand if there are reasons for your visits you've curbed
With Flo and Charmaine
Our hearts will always remain
With both Flo and Charmaine;
When from us life does so drain,
Need poets like you to remove pain.
Jim Horn
I miss her sweet serene poetic smile
Her fairy dusted words that so beguile
I miss the travel guide her lines provide
To places that enchant where dreams abide
I miss the tender lines that bring delight
that warm the heart like embers in the night
I miss the heart that love filled to the brim
Without her charm, poetic lights are dim
I miss my friend who is a kindred soul
Who longed with peace to make each poet whole
I miss this angel with each passing day
Oh, how I wish I'd find the words to say
Come back, my dear, come back and let us see
the wonder of your writes- your poetry
Eileen Manassian
If tonight I could paint a moonlight
sprinkle it with endless love and childlike magic
sail away with you across an azure sea
on a vessel to happiness
If tonight I could close my eyes
dance with you through the chambers of my heart
wrapping you in the endless emotions of my soul
and let all my Pasionata set us free
If tonight, just like the wind
felt on your moon glowed cheek
through the silent distance
would you remember me
a fresh sweet scent
of last gardenia
on yesterday's linen sheets
a wonderland of happily ever after's
through fields of daisies
where the river meets the sea
little by little
dare to dream a dream
wonder a bit longer
lose yourself
where the crimson bleeds it's rose

There is a lovely young lady on my mind
She is real loyal and giving and kind
Birthday spankings I give
For each year she has lived
I better run and protect my own behind
Happy Birthday Charmaine
Come on over here, listen up
Have you heard the news?
A birthday celebration is about to start
Rainstorms have been blown away

There was a girl named Charmaine
So sweet, not one to complain
Her words did ignite
Put flames in the night
Her rhymes are pretty not plain
Her use of each metaphor
Will lead to visions galore
Like honey and cream
They sweeten each dream
That’s why her rhymes we adore
She writes with class and finesse
Each line has her sweet caress
She flirts with the moon
And makes poets swoon
Her heart is sweet, I confess
So, Girl…here’s looking at you
You bring us visions brand new
Your words are sublime
They have a sweet chime
For you're are a poet so true

I’m blessed to call Charmaine a friend. I adore her heart and her spirit. She doesn’t have a shadow of malice in her sweet character. Her poetry is of the finest…and yet she is so humble about it. This was inspired by her latest poem….I Think of You. It is just…..sublime. I truly can’t do it justice. Love you, Charmaine….I truly do!!
Sitting on the window sill with the wind in my hair
I gaze up into the stars, pondering the great unknown.
Thinking back of that night, when I heard your first cry
tears of joy filled my heart as we carried you home.
Nervous and excited, a mother I had just become,
you were my angel, my being, my son.
You were all that I dreamt of, from my lungs, pure breath.
In the cradle I rocked you, before going to bed.
With gurgles and babbles you have filled up our lives.
With first footsteps, first mouthfuls, with sweet little rhymes
With first schooldays, first friendships, first free little moves,
Like doing your homework, and tying your own shoes
We followed your shadow from a distance not far,
giving you your wings, yet knowing where you are
The time has passed by, in a blink of an eye,
Soon you'll be leaving, making this mother cry.

Everyone knows our dear Charmaine
From the Mediterranean Isle of Malta
A beautiful lady so loving and gentle
My admiration for her never falters
Charming and sweet are a couple of words
Describing this dear loving soul
I hold my breath till her name appears
Since this ageing heart she stole
Others on the site are sweethearts too
Can't possibly mention them all
But this is all about Charmaine Chircop
That dear sweet Maltese doll
Since the day Charmaine came into my life
The sun has never stopped shining
She fills each day with such joy and kindness
Forever on her love, I'm dining

Charmaine, the dear soul writes like an angel
Her poetry is beautiful and touching
She writes with a passion known to only a few
You'll find your heart you'll be clutching
Some just know how to create those phrases
That leave us in awe and wonderment
A natural talent that some are born with
For others it a struggle and torment
But Charming Charmaine has it down pat
It's to do with her approach to life
Definitely sways the way she writes poetry
A style that does surely entice
Charmaine, the dear lady is a friend of mine
I'm so happy to know this soul
Stands tall in the world of romantic poetry
So fortunate she's an honour to know!
