Cellphone Poems

Premium MemberCell Phones

These hand sized gadgets is something we use to communicate
We use these devices to relate good news that can't wait
We take pictures and create memories of our experiences
Also to record a conversation or video criminal offenses
Many addictions have been created as technology evolves
Different social medias and games to keep everyone involved
One phone seems to vary in cost from another
With apps such as FaceTime to help distant lovers
Those are the advantages but there's also disadvantages
Those that causes you to put your neighbor in bandages.
A conversation full of joy or an argument that's perplexed
You end up taking someone's life while sending a message in a text
You can't drive and focus while someone is screaming in your ear
Attempting to do so is like jumping rope after having a few beers
Know when and how a cell phone should be used
A topic that this current generation has confused

Premium Memberqueen of my cellphone

If I were queen I would banish my enemies I said
But you are the queen of yourself, right? Asked Fred.
He might be my brother but his point was well-taken.
I should take care of my royalty, if I am not mistaken.

So I began banishing those who lied to my face.
I tossed them out of my life, with no explanation or grace
Fred made me angry, and I tried to banish him too.
But I am your brother he whined, please reconsider, Sue!

I now regularly update my friends and banish the others.
I have gotten rid of some annoying fathers and mothers.
Being the queen of my cellphone has helped considerably.
I block those who whine or annoy me any way miserably.

Premium MemberCell Prison: a Parasite of Life

My pixel prison, / parasite of my mind, / tyrant of my time.

Once upon a time- a letter or a call sufficed.
Now, years vanish in a blink of an eye,

Beeps and buzzes, / rings and memes.

Panic… no time or space to breathe…, to think, to feel.
Only rumors, lies, confusion, facts, & paradoxes /
Black Hole Fury, ennui, strain, insomnia, fatigue...

A silent scream / Enough is Enough!!

I Take control - disconnect from the leech….
I walk outside, / I breathe / Fresh Air,
Weeping - I hear the distant thunder /

I gaze at the willows, roses, sparrows, clouds, & bees
Nature - my old friend, my healer, a warm breeze
Free at last - I wander at will, elated I perceive...
The path not taken.

Premium MemberCellphone Or Book

I suppose no speech or pen can reveal.
Hidden mysteries of the cell buzzer.
Whose sleek screes fit conjointly like a deal.
To boast about such a complex shudder.

A thin membrane that provides protection.
In order to shelter its swags inside.
The city is ruled by its switch section.
Yielding hurdles over today's worldwide.

While books about fable intend to sell.
Such a DNA change occurred by chance.
Each organ and nucleus in the cell.
A mind is warned to be behind the stance.

I shake my mind; dawdling was a mistake.
I note the book to read, needing a break.

Even, even, even,
Odd, odd, odd,
Odd, even, odd, and even odder.
Solve the riddle and give me a call.
We’ll forge ourselves a spiritual connection.
Whatever we can’t weld, we’ll solder.
If you can see the key to it all.
Even, even, even,
Odd, odd, odd,
Odd, even, odd, and even odder.

My cellphone just fell in the sink
So, of course, the damn thing won't blink
The wife says, "Be nice!
Just ask for some rice!"
Who knows what a woman might think?

Cellphone Monologue

Cellphone monologue

I’ve been driving, you know the road is no highway,
how taxing, skirting potholes, cajoling the new jalopy
will be there for a candle lit supper, come what may.
Out of the glare, jacarandas form a fragrant canopy
into the glow of passion driving down Love Boulevard
Oh my, your texts been erecting toll gates between us!
I need money to get through to you, road is barred.
Do you honestly believe I deserve to be treated thus?
Sometimes a man has to make do with his love ration.
But the once-sweet ferments, then love loses a mate
when the woman darts in and out for material fashion
though she knows full well her lover is no Bill Gates.
Hard to believe we used to be such a rhyming couple
my said inadequacy has made me reel under the rubble.

Premium MemberThe Last Straw

She glanced at him from across the table
while carefully realigning her eating utensils.
He was reading a report of some kind, or
so she thought. He was completely engrossed
[Clearly, he was not aware of her presence]
In his cellphone like she was not there.
Once, she said rather loudly

”Uh-humm,”

But he dismissed her with a wave of his hand.
She sighed.
Then, she took her cellphone from her purse
and googled

Do you wanna come by but don't forget your phone either
Must keep up on the news of the nation

Premium MemberIs His Cellphone Dead

Is his cell phone dead? Is he dead? What is happening?
I stare out the window for the sixteenth time.
It is windy out there. I can hear the howling.
Has he been in a wreck? Is it time to call the hospitals?

Should I get dressed in case the police come to the door?
I press my nose against the glass, and then my mouth.
The coolness of it does not calm me in the least.
Where is he? Why has he not called? What is happening?

I cannot leave. There is no one to watch the children.
I stare at the cell phone. Check it again for messages.
There is nothing. Where is he? What is happening? Was there a wreck?
The bridge is treacherously slick in this kind of weather. Especially if it rains.

Rain begins pinging at the windows. It sounds like sand being thrown.
What is happening? Where is he? I get dressed, ready for anything.

He takes a selfie.
Eaten by a bear.
She takes a selfie.
Carried off screaming.
He takes a selfie.
Plunges to his death.
She takes a selfie,
Run over by a semi.
He takes a selfie.
Carried away by the flood waters.
Do any of the rest of you see a pattern here?
