Clouds floating underneath caught my vision
like torn pieces of white carded cotton.
I was flying in the sky crossing ocean.
Red Sun about to peep through horizon.

                         Charmed to see changing color-spectrum
on my flight, looking through the plane-window,
                          overwhelmed, watching the sky-album,
amused to see me above, Sun below.

Sunbeams started to paint sky at random.
                        Refraction, reflection , diffraction dazzled.
                      Dawn-sky touching horizon turned awesome.
Gorgeous Sunrise made me just puzzled.

Once I chanced to glance amazing sunrise
                       resonating on rhythmic symphony
on splendorous view with grand surprise.
Sky glowing on sunshine in harmony.

There’s a 7-11 on Mars,
with parking for plenty of cars.
There’s never a wait in line
and you never get carded for wine.

There’s a huge monument on Venus,
it's shaped like a giant peniz.
That’s a salute to Jeffery Bezos,
is it accurate and life-like - who knows?

A universe for the rich,
who found a technological niche,
with their business soaring,
to the stars they are roaring,
but for the rest of us, life is a bit-ch.

The Gift

The gift of the day
 long-anticipated, anxiously awaited,
 prepped and prepared for
contemplated with intense thought and anxiety
beating back, rushing past the crowds,
searching for just the right gift
you well know
the one loved will treasure and remember.
 chosen, wrapped, lovingly carded,
 special words penned by you
 for that special person
 held within your heartbeat;
only to see
 disappointment on their face
 thanking you graciously
 while hiding disenchantment and chagrin
 with quietly accepted sadness
having desired something better, something more.
Oh well,
 there is always next year.

First Drink

My first legal drink
Was anti-climatic
I had gone out
To celebrate my legal age
At age 21
I could finally
Get a drink in a bar

I wanted to get
carded that night
But no one looked at my ID

I had gone to a bar
When I was 14
No one ever carded me
As I looked much older

Finally got carded
At age 32!
I thanked the guy
Saying he made my day

White Supremacy, Part Ii

...
Worst of all was when I noticed
while I was watching a ball game,
the home team’s pants are mostly white,
with a single stripe that’s not plain.
A lonesome strip of color that
represents mere tokenism,
I never thought to see baseball
through such a mind-changing prism.
It says that whites carry the blacks,
it couldn’t be more obvious,
the white fabric does most of the job,
the stripe is throwing a bone to us.
And given all the black players
who are then made to dress in white,
the message couldn’t be more clear,
you must white-wash to play the game right!
I thought it was a simple game,
but however wrong could I be,
baseball was evil all along,
the game is white supremacy!

The waiter who forgot my fries,
the clerk who carded me for beer,
the law office that turned me down,
the ex who left me here in tears,
the cop who said I was speeding,
the gas pump that ran out of juice,
the player who gave no autographs,
the crossword in the daily news,
it is not me who has to change,
I’ve never seen it more clearly,
every single thing I do not like
is due to white supremacy!

If you don't like this poem, it's white supremacy.

SUNSHINE

                              Crimson Sun peeping through horizon.

Charmed to see changes of color-spectrum
of Sunrays looking through the plane-window,
                         overwhelmed, watching Sunshine on sky-album,
amused to see me above, Sun below.

Sunbeams started to paint sky with wind-brush
                             Refraction, reflection of rays dazzled.
Meeting with horizon, sky seemed to blush.
Gorgeous Sunshine made me just puzzled.

Getting down from plane, bathed in bright Sunshine
                      Sunrays showering blessings seemed divine.

Premium MemberSilent Curse Words

They sent Jamal to detention
for saying "********"
yet he saw a billboard of the "KKK
with the president"

Maria cried when Emily told her
"If you say "f*** again, we won’t be friends"
but Maria heard that "they’re building a wall on CNN"

When Mohamed told Jenny, you have a "big a**"
She practiced her jujitsu and punched him in the face
While eating halal meat for dinner he heard,
"We’re banning people of the Muslim faith"

Danielle sat on the sidelines during the soccer finals
She was red-carded for saying "you’re sh**" to their rivals
but in Time Magazine she read,
"In Mississippi they’re refusing service to homosexuals"

Ahusaka was in his room today
tweeting to his followers about the super bowl
He didn’t go snowboarding
He called John a "mofo"
Ding, a notification on Ahusaka’s phone
from the Chicago Tribune
"The new administration is pushing through,
the pipeline under Standing Rock Sioux"

Jamal, Maria, Mohamed, Danielle and Ahusaka
paid their dues
but who's held accountable for "the silen* cur** wor** of the mighty few"

Generation Hate

Generation X
Who used to could care less
Now have been replaced
With Generation Hate

Those leaning to the left
Have filled their silly heads
With hopelessness and dread
When all is done and said

With so much fear and doubt
That things will all work out
Taking it into their own hands
Meeting up with their own demands

All they know is push and shove
In their pool of had enough
Saying no thank you very much
Putting all blame on dot government

Coming late to the party
At the door they've all been carded
Sadly turned around and left
Not part of the one percent

So they took to revolution
At someone else's choosing
To take and seal the fate
Of Generation Hate

Premium MemberThe Deer Shake Off the Headlights

The deer shake off the headlights

We sat in the car outside the
liquor store peering like deer, our eyes
following Pinky as she went in to
the store for a twelve pack of beer.
Our breathing stops. She's carded. Shucks.
Fake card works. Yes! Pinky time. She
sashays back, with beer and condoms, smiling.

Use Card God Has

Use Card God Has

When you don't want discord,
You can always use God's card;
Never do discard.

Have you ever been carded before?
If with God's will never suffer pain.

No gain pure and plain
So why should you go insane
God's card conquers pain.

Premium MemberBirthday

B names Birthdays you can't deny,

I spells Insipid to tell how they fly.

R sings Rest on your laurels today,

T says Taste your cake with no delay.

H gives History of birthdays till now,

D Dares to grab all that birthdays allow.

A taunts, "You are Aging too soon,"

Y stands to Yodel a birthday tune.

Birthdays come and birthdays go,
but you seem to stay the same
This time, however, you've reached
one to make you cringe in shame.

50 sounds so much older than 49
Now you'll be hearing all the time;

("May I see your discount card?")

being carded as when you hit 21
only you won't be having any fun.
You'll turn your back, and feign
you didn't hear that hated refrain
But hey, in today's sad economy
we will accept any paltry gain.

"Do you want the Senior menu?"
"With your Senior discount, that comes to . . . "

I've already had 25 years of that, so welcome to the club! You have officially crossed over into the fastest growing segment of the U. S. population, and have attained status as a certified member of The Seniors Club of America!

The Hidden Me

Walking through life all alone,
I live my life in monotone.
Watching the days go by,
I sit and wonder, why?
What purpose do I serve?
What is it to just exist?
Wandering blind in a veil of mist.
If the sun were to shine on me,
Could I open my mind and see?
Would I use my heart and soul?
Would I find what hatred once stole?
Young in life, my innocence lost, taken,
My mind frozen with fear, trust violently shaken.
Unable to shed a tear, my paranoia blatantly real.
Emotions unexpressed congeal.
My eyes leave nothing unguarded,
The real me checked and carded.
Awaiting a person who possesses the key,
To open the door and kill the pain inside me.

Floating

Suntanned toes
Submerged and swirling tepid water
In lazily summer circles
While I float
Dangling fingers, barely skimming the surface
Hypnotic lapping little waves
Caress the warm plump vinyl inner tube
While I float
Strands of hair dipping into the lake
As I gaze upward at
Forever bright blue summer sky
And clouds like carded cotton fibers
Floating slowly by
Sun kissed thighs and freckled knees
Bobbing slightly with the breeze
While I float
And perfect summer flows
Around my suntanned toes
