Premium Member Birthday

B names Birthdays you can't deny,

I spells Insipid to tell how they fly.

R sings Rest on your laurels today,

T says Taste your cake with no delay.

H gives History of birthdays till now,

D Dares to grab all that birthdays allow.

A taunts, "You are Aging too soon,"

Y stands to Yodel a birthday tune.

Birthdays come and birthdays go,
but you seem to stay the same
This time, however, you've reached
one to make you cringe in shame.

50 sounds so much older than 49
Now you'll be hearing all the time;

("May I see your discount card?")

being carded as when you hit 21
only you won't be having any fun.
You'll turn your back, and feign
you didn't hear that hated refrain
But hey, in today's sad economy
we will accept any paltry gain.

"Do you want the Senior menu?"
"With your Senior discount, that comes to . . . "

I've already had 25 years of that, so welcome to the club! You have officially crossed over into the fastest growing segment of the U. S. population, and have attained status as a certified member of The Seniors Club of America!

They sent Jamal to detention
for saying "********"
yet he saw a billboard of the "KKK
with the president"

Maria cried when Emily told her
"If you say "f*** again, we won’t be friends"
but Maria heard that "they’re building a wall on CNN"

When Mohamed told Jenny, you have a "big a**"
She practiced her jujitsu and punched him in the face
While eating halal meat for dinner he heard,
"We’re banning people of the Muslim faith"

Danielle sat on the sidelines during the soccer finals
She was red-carded for saying "you’re sh**" to their rivals
but in Time Magazine she read,
"In Mississippi they’re refusing service to homosexuals"

Ahusaka was in his room today
tweeting to his followers about the super bowl
He didn’t go snowboarding
He called John a "mofo"
Ding, a notification on Ahusaka’s phone
from the Chicago Tribune
"The new administration is pushing through,
the pipeline under Standing Rock Sioux"

Jamal, Maria, Mohamed, Danielle and Ahusaka
paid their dues
but who's held accountable for "the silen* cur** wor** of the mighty few"

Self-Portrait

Self-Portrait, 2011
v. Ortiz Vazquez

4’9” or 5’0”, never quite knowing which
Brown eyes, black Afro hair
She Hercules strength within
34 years old wondering where times has gone
A second, minute, hour; days, weeks, months
Young morena, carded at times
Few gray hairs basilan between wisdom and just time passed
Time spend recording images, words
Hidden ideas within pages
Pieces behind doors, question of “Am I an artist when no one except me sees my
humble images?”
Energy transfer in a moment of passion where soul, thoughts merge
Written words waltz between lines wondering “Am I a poet when no one except my
girl listens to the movement within my writings?”
Quote-on-quote educated yet ignorant
School smart, whatever that means
Socially dysfunctional, quietly listens to the cacophony-story telling time
Not my story but hers, his, theirs
Commonalities, none
Fearful she hides behind her home’s walls
Pages hide her thoughts
Agony bleeds every time she wakes
Capture by her moving hand yet stored away
Aching, waiting to break through
She turns and walks
Sanctuary, solitary times
Lingering questions, who am I?
How to survive without knowing
Knowledge eludes me
To find a different host
Jealous, envy; no, lost
Floating through time, space
Looking to land yet not knowing where
Falling back to old tricks
Seclusion
Time to put thyself asleep
Lights out

Premium Member The Deer Shake Off the Headlights

The deer shake off the headlights

We sat in the car outside the
liquor store peering like deer, our eyes
following Pinky as she went in to
the store for a twelve pack of beer.
Our breathing stops. She's carded. Shucks.
Fake card works. Yes! Pinky time. She
sashays back, with beer and condoms, smiling.

Floating

Suntanned toes
Submerged and swirling tepid water
In lazily summer circles
While I float
Dangling fingers, barely skimming the surface
Hypnotic lapping little waves
Caress the warm plump vinyl inner tube
While I float
Strands of hair dipping into the lake
As I gaze upward at
Forever bright blue summer sky
And clouds like carded cotton fibers
Floating slowly by
Sun kissed thighs and freckled knees
Bobbing slightly with the breeze
While I float
And perfect summer flows
Around my suntanned toes

The Gift

The gift of the day
 long-anticipated, anxiously awaited,
 prepped and prepared for
contemplated with intense thought and anxiety
beating back, rushing past the crowds,
searching for just the right gift
you well know
the one loved will treasure and remember.
 chosen, wrapped, lovingly carded,
 special words penned by you
 for that special person
 held within your heartbeat;
only to see
 disappointment on their face
 thanking you graciously
 while hiding disenchantment and chagrin
 with quietly accepted sadness
having desired something better, something more.
Oh well,
 there is always next year.

SUNSHINE

Clouds floating underneath caught my vision
like torn pieces of white carded cotton.
I was flying in the sky crossing ocean.
                              Crimson Sun peeping through horizon.

Charmed to see changes of color-spectrum
of Sunrays looking through the plane-window,
                         overwhelmed, watching Sunshine on sky-album,
amused to see me above, Sun below.

Sunbeams started to paint sky with wind-brush
                             Refraction, reflection of rays dazzled.
Meeting with horizon, sky seemed to blush.
Gorgeous Sunshine made me just puzzled.

Getting down from plane, bathed in bright Sunshine
                      Sunrays showering blessings seemed divine.

"To have Clarity of Intention means to align oneself with the clear and single-pointed purpose of that [regenerative] impulse itself. And the way that alignment occurs, in a [bicameral] human heart and mind, is that the intention to [co-]evolve becomes more important [and obvious and ubiquitous and nutritious] than anything else in this [living ecosystemic] world." Andrew Cohen, "Evolutionary Enlightenment", p. 111

Life is like a game of Old Bodhisattva Maid.
We co-arise the cards and hands
we have been dealt
and have dealt ourselves
facedown,
we have gifted and been gifted.

So now you know,
we made that Old Maid hairshirt
and capital choking tie
now in your hand,
just means its your time to wear them
until they find some other happy hapless guy.

Love is like a game of Wise Elder.
We co-arise our carded minds
dealing mutual subsidiarity to co-gravitate together
facedown forward,
faceup backward down
through time's past intertransactional memory,
co-empathic gifting to and fro.

So now you know,
we made this Wise Bodhisattva Elder shirt and tie
at Left and Right
MindThought and BodyFelt hand,
just means its our Time to help us
compassionately wear them
until We find some Othered unhappy
hapless ego-soul

To have Clarity of Intention,
healthy body/wealthy mind
to co-align oneself with equanimity
to each moment's co-arising
Old Wise Elder Maid
cooperative Win/Win game.

Use Card God Has

Use Card God Has

When you don't want discord,
You can always use God's card;
Never do discard.

Have you ever been carded before?
If with God's will never suffer pain.

No gain pure and plain
So why should you go insane
God's card conquers pain.

The Hidden Me

Walking through life all alone,
I live my life in monotone.
Watching the days go by,
I sit and wonder, why?
What purpose do I serve?
What is it to just exist?
Wandering blind in a veil of mist.
If the sun were to shine on me,
Could I open my mind and see?
Would I use my heart and soul?
Would I find what hatred once stole?
Young in life, my innocence lost, taken,
My mind frozen with fear, trust violently shaken.
Unable to shed a tear, my paranoia blatantly real.
Emotions unexpressed congeal.
My eyes leave nothing unguarded,
The real me checked and carded.
Awaiting a person who possesses the key,
To open the door and kill the pain inside me.
                                                 Summer Gratias

Premium Member Tiktok Songs - Part 1

I’m chilling and doing homework tonight. Leaning into it.

Last night one of our suitemates (Julia) turned 21 - she’s barable. Not that we get carded anywhere - I’ve never had trouble getting into clubs or ordering drinks - I mean never have I ever.

She had her birthday party at a place called Mory’s, in New Haven, which is very Yale themed. We ate dinner in the “captain’s room,” where every picture on the wall is a Yale team captain of some sort. They even have a whiffenpoof plaque. It’s so Yale-core it’s funny.

Have you ever heard of a drink called a “Singapore Sling?” Me neither, until last night. Then, somehow, there were undrinkable oceans of it. I had six of them, sitting at a bar and I felt nothing. Then I stood up and my bones seemed to liquify. Leong and Anna reeled me in.

I was hangin this morning though, I mean rocky-socks drunkover. My senses seemed sharper, my optical nerves dialed up all the way. The air seemed bright and I swear I could’ve heard the sun burning if people would’ve just stopped all that annoying breathing.

I had a biochemistry quiz at 9am and I can’t wait to see how I did. Later, at breakfast (I had a piece of toast), Peter felt free to offer his sensible, 26-year-old, bropinion. I said, “You’re so wise,” as I steel-eyed him, “I-guess-you-never.”

Slang…
barable = drinking age
hangin = hungover
rocky-socks = really hungover
drunkover = still a little drunk but hungover
bropinion = a guy's (bro) opinion
I-guess-you-never = you're a hypocrite (but WAY ruder)

White Supremacy, Part Ii

...
Worst of all was when I noticed
while I was watching a ball game,
the home team’s pants are mostly white,
with a single stripe that’s not plain.
A lonesome strip of color that
represents mere tokenism,
I never thought to see baseball
through such a mind-changing prism.
It says that whites carry the blacks,
it couldn’t be more obvious,
the white fabric does most of the job,
the stripe is throwing a bone to us.
And given all the black players
who are then made to dress in white,
the message couldn’t be more clear,
you must white-wash to play the game right!
I thought it was a simple game,
but however wrong could I be,
baseball was evil all along,
the game is white supremacy!

The waiter who forgot my fries,
the clerk who carded me for beer,
the law office that turned me down,
the ex who left me here in tears,
the cop who said I was speeding,
the gas pump that ran out of juice,
the player who gave no autographs,
the crossword in the daily news,
it is not me who has to change,
I’ve never seen it more clearly,
every single thing I do not like
is due to white supremacy!

If you don't like this poem, it's white supremacy.

Go Ahead and Create a Title Yourself

10th grade 11th grade 12th grade 01st grade 02nd grade 03rd grade
04th grade 05th grade 06th grade 07th grade 08th grade 09th grade
Does this mean that sooner or later you will to have to add BA, MA and PhD, Thesis complete, thesis and not complete, Trump Transcript? How about Athletic Scholarship or whatever other types of scholarships that they may be like National Merit Scholarships? Here is another one: American Society For Enology and Viticulture Scholarship. How about Pre-school that you need to apply to Trump? I am calling my poems
I write about Trump satire for lack of any other word. Not sure what
category you would put them in. If I were retarded playing soccer and
someone made fun of me they would be red carded. Should that happen
to Trump. If with Trump we were to dine, His mental status probably
has been borderline. What would be a big surprise, Some people a moron
Trump they categorize. If how to laugh at yourself never did learn, much
emotion inside you will start to churn. Trump have heard his greatest goal
is to play in a game called toilet bowl. Answer he might as well have to face,
Whole thing was an open and shut case. Open mouth and stick foot in;
If you can't stand taste don't do it again. Jim Horn

You could classify all of this as pre-school once you create that category.

There’s a 7-11 on Mars,
with parking for plenty of cars.
There’s never a wait in line
and you never get carded for wine.

There’s a huge monument on Venus,
it's shaped like a giant peniz.
That’s a salute to Jeffery Bezos,
is it accurate and life-like - who knows?

A universe for the rich,
who found a technological niche,
with their business soaring,
to the stars they are roaring,
but for the rest of us, life is a bit-ch.
