Motherhood

When a slap brings joy
A voice cries out
Newborn girl, boy
Angels in Heaven shout

A voice cries out
Happy tears flow
Angels in Heaven shout
Trumpets in Glory blow

Happy tears flow
Breast milk fed
Trumpets in Glory blow
Gentle strokes to the head

Breast milk fed
Forever to enjoy
Gentle strokes to the head
When a slap brings joy

What Is Fashion For Me

Everything you see is fashion
From just simple tattered dress
A carpenter hammering a nail
A boy riding a bicycle
A lady poses for a selfie
Throng of people walking the street
A taho vendor in the sidewalk
An office lady typing on her computer
A simple bartender mixing wine
A cook cooking in a simple kitchenette
A construction worker hauling debris
Those passengers lining waiting for a bus
A painter painting sunset at the bay
A mother breastfeeding a baby
A cow eating grass in the field
A bee hopping in every flower sipping for nectar
The busy street like Binondo during Sunday
The passing of the Comulus clouds
The scattered leaves on the backyard
The birds plucking dried grass for a nest
The ads on tv commercial and billboards
Those ramp model ramping on a stage
A newscaster casting the news on tv
Two person playing chess religiously
People in political rallying on the streets
People praying inside the church
A family eating their lunch on a buffet resto
Two people walking hand in hand
Everything that is not moving and moving
It's all fashion for me.

Premium Member Sounds of Life

My heart beats in my ear
I hear my happiness I hear my fear
This steady sound is like a drum
And is beating now so I hum

To the beat of my brain
Seems music is no strain
Did I choose it or it chose me
Like the sound of dancing feet

The sound of love in a voice
Furry and soft colorful and plush
The sound of a baby breastfeeding
And of the mothers heart bleeding

Sounds of rodents in the green grass
Devouring green garden running fast
Sounds of life giving cherry chase
Sounds of hot tea being pored the taste

Sounds of the cicadas near sugar creek
Sounds of the deer walking gracefully
Sounds of the river sky flowing
Sounds of life being lived by beings

Cat and Dog

cat and dog:
mutual hatred
because they love each other
sleep
eat
played together

Kitty
dog fed and raised
by breastfeeding

one day
cat scratched
owner's favorite closet
let's kicked out,
from that night
didn't see a dog.

Mother's Moments All

Idea of celebration of
Mothers Day is mean

Replace days by moments
Mothers love pervades all moments

Conceiving to nursing foetus in Womb
Nine months, toughest Mother's moments

Breastfeeding to patting baby to sleep
Kissing to pinching cheeks, Mother's loving moments all

First crawl to walk, first word to sentences
Massaging to bathing, Mother's affectionate moments all

Placating tantrums, praising good grades
Packing snack box to feeding, Mother's fond moments all

Staying awake to praying when ill
Concern to cure, Mother's anxious moments all

Child remains a child forever for mother
Cares, caresses till last, Mother's sacrificing moments all

When blackened at that time,
as the fate of this country,
In the Dai Nippon colonial era,
the baby was born.

Childbirth is true fate.
breastfeeding as God's gift,
laudatory nature and remarkable deeds.

Nothing for partus sequitur ventrem,
children born not to slaves.
Mom, who nine-monthed him,
happy and grateful.

The baby was exceptional.
The Colonial Army never sets claws,
unexpected obstacles,
grounding and sinking.
Where?
Who?
Naqaba, walked,
followed a narrow path.

Love

LOVE

There is a question and thought
Running in my thinking lane
It's a thought from Maggie
I know love is real it's not magic

What can you say about Bonny and Clyde
Two thieves bound in a thing called love
Will you laugh or cry about the Titanic
Tell me did it sink with love?

I heard love lives in families
Tell me more about Romeo and Juliet
A tale we listen and wish it's no jamborees
Love is a feelings not taped on cassette

We know a verse like this
For God so love the world
For His son to die like this
This is love we look forward

Ask a breastfeeding mother what is love
The smile from her face as the child suck on
Or give a troubled soul peace like a dove
You know what love is as life goes on

What is love if not care
The sacrifice which goes unheard
The patience and selflessness
All this makes love so clear.

Dedicated to Maggie,I feel happy having you to read my poems and giving  me listening ears.Thank you and God bless you.

For what is worth
Darkest dirt
Mother Herb, Mother Earth
Black mama
Big lips for brave free speech
Big hips to carry her child
Authoritative Dussciplinarian
Black mama
Destin to birth children
With her God and just one husband
Breastfeeding babies
Black mama
Hand rocks and a hand-me-down cradle
I'm juz sayN
No mizBhavin
Black mama
 Ever so God-fearing
Did I mention child rearing
Self procuring
Black mama
Smells like raw flowers
Breath like a kiss smells of baby's breath
Black mama
Endearing
Not sure God lead God-fearing
Black mama comes in many shades of brown
Can even be White and Red Olive Auburn
She can cook she can so she can even make ceramic bowls she can bake homemade biscuits and breads
She'd learnt from her Aunts and Grandma
Star black Skin Beauty

Ever so somber
All the children the world loves her

Breastfeeding Perils

Breastfeeding Perils

I watched you take your first breath
And open your sleepy eyes
Your trembling lip and clinched little fist
Never a mother could resist

From head to toes with your thick white coating
Soon rubbed clean and a warm blanket did cover
Placed on my breast to feast on the milk
But silly you turn away like its buttermilk

You spit and you sputter
And wrinkle your nose and cry
So what must I do to make you happy my child
What have I done to get you so riled?

The lights are dimmed
As you snuggle so close
Soon this first time mom with learn what to eat
To make my milk not sour but sweet.

A year has passed since that glorious day
When you played finicky
Now you grab with your two little choppers
Seems you have developed a taste for jalepeno poppers

Breastfeeding a Snake

Adam and Eve, God created
Things and animals, He made
Good are some, bad are others
Like parents, children hardly behave

Costly is making a child grow
But strongly, mothers hope
The child will grow certainly
To become responsible

To feed children, mothers sacrifice
For true love they have for humanity
But when they grow mature,
Abel and Cain, they change into

Dangerous children’s prongs become
For breast and courage offered to Cain
Energy and time vanished ungratefully
But the motherly heart rests unbothered

The Day My Daughter Was Born

I knew I loved you before I knew you were to be born, I made life long promises to you before I knew you were to be born. I just couldn’t imagine just how much I would love you at that time until the day you were born, the moment I found out that I was going to be a mother I was shocked at first but when the shock wore off I was beyond joy.

I couldn’t wait for the day that I would finally meet you, to hold you in my arms, to kiss your beautiful head and to rock you to sleep. I was scared about breast breastfeeding you because of how top-heavy I am, so I decided to bottle feed you instead.

I took parenting classes to make sure that I would know how to care for you, I want you to have a better life then I did growing up. I will make sure that you do because I’ll make sure with all of my power that you do have a better life than me.

I’ll get you whatever you want and need all you have to do is ask me, you are my special and precious little baby girl. You claimed my heart for your own when you were born.

Trauma In My Mother's House

"Trauma In my Mother's House"

Some mornings came whispering in my mother's ears the torment of being a lady;
It explained to her how by the kitchen knife
she was meant to breathe only from a man’s pocket

She was told that her tears undermine society
& her body worth not even a cent from a man’s wallet,
Because she is the object that cannot fit even in an empty set

the door of my mother's head was opened by another strange voice,
informing her that cooking is the degree she has earned naturally
& that anything above it, is a sin beyond reality

Situation has made her to see this world as a cooking kitchen;
The aches from there is the comfort air she inhales without regretting

In my mother's house,
she is strong like the wind that comes before rainfall,
Because she's the eagle that can withstand any downfall

Her power is the milk that's capable of breastfeeding this lazy world
& babysit any depression that wants to overcome her,
Because her current life is the hell she is defeating very well.

Haibun Mother

in the woods getting lost is a bliss, tall trees like mothers welcome me in their scoops, giving off comfort in my waning sense of insecurity, shrubs give tiny berries cool like candy under the blazing sun,to soothe avid soul; on arrival there's an all-pervading tranquility, the wonderful sagacity of nature, smell of petrichor earth, brings forth mother's breastfeeding, the sauce of my upbringing,as time passes on evening sets in, under the placid moon i discover the footprints of my life....

                                          a creaky night-bird
roves the canvas sky in woods
                                       paints my mother's face

That Rule Was Begging To Be Broken

That rule was begging to be broken
Y’know the one about women?
Of conformity for cat calls and
Gift wrapped shoulders and legs?
How about “no” to breastfeeding
How about “whore” for “too revealing”?
I’m sick of these notions, it’s too unappealing.
I am a nonconformist of a woman
The one that daunts you in your wake.
Come at me with your “don’t”s for women
I’ll show you my scars of everyday crusades.
I’ve battled tirades of piercing tongues
Of sharp fingers engraved into skins
I’m supposed to be hidden beneath them
Because I walk like i’m a woman
Because I walk like a human being
But I stomp these woman feet of mines
To tell you “That ain’t gonna be me”
Nor will it be any woman in this world
‘Cause that rule was begging to be broken
When this woman marched for gender equality.
